I went to the eye to save Barrett, since he is one of my favorite characters, but seeing Sarah dead literally gave me chills. This was something I didn’t expect to happen as well, so this hit me like a damn truck. Holy shit.
First time I ran the quest, I lost Sara. Second time I ran it on a first time through, I lost Sam, and that one was the worst. Got hit in the feels when Cora ran off saying she hated me.
In this situation Cora blames you and in another universe you have the potential for her to be the hunter hunting you for letting her dad die. GG for being THAT GUY!
How did you lose Sam; I want him to die, so that Cora can go live with her Mom or Grandfather; I got her killed a few times when my ship got blown to bits.
Generally, the two candidates to die are the ones with the highest affinity with you. Then it's a matter of choosing the location. One will be with you at the lodge, the other on the eye. Choose wisely, Padawan.@@archimedescadmus6527
This was heart breaking. I was on this quest this morning. I chose to defend the lodge with Sarah, but my WIFE Andreja died on the Eye. I immediately reloaded a save from 20 minutes earlier. I will go do it over...I'd hate to lose Sarah or Andreja, but I have to save Andreja.
same situation for me, it clearly didnt take me more time to defende the lodge than just to run there, but i didnt make it in time.. (my save was much older though and replaying the last 5 hours to save her.... well lets say i still mourn her death)

You should've just started a new game with a new character. I have five on the go now, I also had about that many I have deleted. I get bored sometimes and want to try something different, so I start a new character and play it completely different. I switch it up and that makes this game more enjoyable for me.
stop doing that guys, youre supposed to beat the game and unlock new game plus as starborn. thats honestly when the game really opens up. a true starborn lives many lives and would see each of them all die 100 times. Maybe even save them all. level up boyz
I swear I don't think I have ever been more affected by a game ever. Whoa, the emotional rollercoaster! I about died when Vlad said that Sarah was still breathing but there was a lot of blood. I quickly rushed to the Eye and was fortunate enough that she was ok. However, my explorer Michaela's best friend Barrett was gone. I literally sat at my desk crying my eyes out. Relieved that Michaela's life mate was ok, but devasted to lose her best friend. Good grief, it's just a game but the emotions are real!
I had Sam Coe die in the lodge so i reloaded the other choice and Barret died in the lodge funny though hes my least favorite so i chose this option lol.
Sam is my partner so I went to The Eye! Came back to The Lodge and Sarah was the one who died! She was one of my favourite characters in Constellation!😪
Sarah's chest had more stuff in it. I didn't know Someone other than Sarah could die. She's died with three of my characters, good to see I have another option. Was hoping it would be Sam and then I could drop Cora off to her mother and be done with putting a kid in harms way, where she's died every time my ship got blown away.
Yeah, this is what really REALLY bothers me about Sam. I like the character, and Cora is delightful. But looking at it somewhat realistically....Sam is putting HIS CHILD IN MORTAL DANGER ON A REGULAR BASIS. The fact that she wants to come is irrelevant. She's 12, she shouldn't get a say on whether or not to put her life on the line constantly. And actually, for me it was Barrett that died every time UNTIL the last playthrough where it was Sarah, and I was so confused, lol
This is a hard decision to make, but logically, Barrett must be sacrificed in order for the story to make sense. He was the first to be affected by an artifact, he was the first to realise that the Lodge already had a piece that was being used as a giant paperweight, he was the first you meet and he is the one who out you on the path. I will not sacrifice Sarah for anything.
Bethesda! I had to save Sarah because she's the wife but it made me lose Sam. Losing the voice of Adam Jensen, poor Cora telling me she hates me was heartbreaking.
In my case it was Sarah and Sam in my firts run, but (a little spoiler ahead) if you do NG+ and go for the full story again, you can save all of them if you play your cards right.
@@zairomolino4074 When you finish the main mision "Starborn", just speak with Vladimir and chose the "Starborn" dialogue option and chose to retired the artifacts and go to your ship and arms the armillary in there, you'r gonna get a surprise right there 😏
I married Sarah in my game. After that I started traveling with Sam to see his story play out. This mission happens and I had to choose between going to The Eye for Sarah or protect the artifacts with Sam. I initially chose The Eye but Sam was like "We really need you down here" so I stayed, naively thinking they wouldn't kill off a main character. I loved it, even though I was bummed it really enhanced the rest of my playthrough.
Same. I originally stayed at the lodge and Sarah died on the eye, couldn't have that... Reloaded a previous save and went to the eye instead, came back to the lodge and found Barret dead and was just like "meh", I was more upset for them couple seconds that I thought Vasco was gone before he started talking again 😂
Huh, when I stayed with the Lodge, Sam was the one who died, not Andreja.... interesting. And yes, Cora blamed me for 'letting' him die. Not the Hunter, me. Talk about frustrating, especially having to shuttle her off with her mom at the end (who was a real.... piece of work. I could see why Sam divorced her.).
I had the same choice to make but in the opposite places . If I defended the lodge I saved Sarah from dying , if I went to the Eye I saved Barrett from dying . I saved Barrett as I wanted to see where his quests went .
I had to choose between Sam Coe and Andreja. I was paralyzed on making a decision that the game chose for me. Let’s just say my captain didn’t take too kindly to the Starborn, Sam was angry at them for breaking my captain’s heart and willingly waged a war with them that my captain out of fury decided that both needed to pay their dues.
For me it was Sarah on the eye and Barrett at the lodge. I made the choice to kill Sarah at first without wanting to and didn’t have a save to go back to that was any less than 3 hours of lost progress…so I speedran through stuff I already did to save Sarah, but I lost Barrett in the process.
mine was between sam and andreja, I just did an extremely long quest for the UC and no going back. andreja has been my main but sam has been my main partner for a while also cora would lose sam. hardest choice ive made in a game in a long time.
I did this and I lost Sam , I knew it was going to happen, I chose to save Sarah , I feel like I owed it to her , but now I’m bummed up for Cora 😢😭 wish I could’ve saved them both 😒
I defended the lodge and the knocked back the hunter then everyone in the lodge made a dash for the well - where I learned you don't fire your weapon in new Atlantis, for any reason. Once I made it to the shop we launched toward the eye. On the eye it was Sam that checked out permanently and I was not disappointed At All. So tired of his constant whining and insecurity! Ugh! Dude, I'm not your therapist! 😅 RIP Sam.🎉😂
I defended the lodge first and it was a good thing I saved, after it was over and I went to the eye and say that Sarah died I couldn't play or it didn't feel right playing without her so a loaded the save and went to the eye instead and was shocked when I came back to the lodge and Andreja died but i stayed with Sarah.
Wife's up Andreja and she's was on the eye. Obvious choice was to go after here on the eye. Lost Sarah. That was epic. Named my ship the Sarah Moragn😂❤
For me it was either Sam or Sarah and i chose to defend the lodge. I literally broke down when I saw Sams dead body and Cora crying over it at the eye after, like I had to reload an old save. I had just had the dialogue with Sarah too when she finally opens up, and I didn’t tell her I loved her which I regret but I told her she’s my partner and I’d always have her back and I literally abandoned her and she died. this mission rly broke me I had to stop playing for the night ngl

In the two run downs I've had with this attack, we lost Sam in the first one and Barrett in the second. Every time, I've always defended the lodge. But I was surprised that Sarah died in your game. I thought she of all the companions, would have been the critical one of survive. After all, later on, you can't even dismiss her.

I lost Sarah which is now my wife, Andreja is my second highest character... and well I would hate to lose her. Barrett, is crucial for my ship, either i have to lvl up a lot more points to compensate, but not going to do the NG+ anyways...
@@downix My preference for people are Barrett and Andreja. Don't care much for Sarah or Sam. Both of which moan quite a lot. Especially Sam. Take him on a trip to clear a bounty and he moans when I'm shooting the enemy. The only time he's never moaned is when we take out the gang on his planet (Shaws gang? I can't recall.). But both Barrett and Andreja don't seem to care about blasting baddies.

It is weird! I chose to save Sam in the Eye and later I found it that I lose Sarah. I thouht keeping to defend the locker and runing away to the ship would preserve the both characters since all the crew was alive.
Anyway I can make sure it’s between Barrett and Andreja? Don’t really care for Andreja so I kind of want to make sure she’s the first one to go…do I need to travel with her for awhile??
It is about the affinity levels,the two highest affinity companions will be the sacrifice or who you save,use affinity boosting drugs to help speed up the process,there is also a skill that helps,i forget the name of it sorry but it's a social skill,maybe Leadership! 👍
Welp i just found out the hard way sam had the most points for the people at the lodge it was sam instead of berrett i had to watch sams daughter grieve that hurts
In my beginning universe, I ran to the eye and everyone was ok. Came back to the lodge and Barrett was dead. When I met the Emissary, it was Barrett. Second universe, Emissary was Barrett again. Third universe, Emissary was Andreja. Fourth universe, Emissary was Sarah. Fifth, Emissary was Barrett again.
It's my first playthrough and I just finished this...I went to the Eye and Sam Coe is the one who died at the Lodge. Extra sad because of Cora Coe. On the positive side, I got his outfit...much better than Barret's.
I had already romanced Sarah. I was going to have her defend the lodge, but I heard Walter choking. We escaped with Noel and Matteo and headed for the Eye. I found Cora crying over Sam's body yelling that she hated me. I'm crushed!
***DO NOT DECORATE THE MERCEURY TOWER PENTHOUSE BEFORE THIS MISSION*** The city itself will reset resulting the penthouse to be completley emptied as if you were to just purchase it. So any decorations, chests, loot ,etc will be forever gone
I just did the mission i got devastated when sarah died because we just became friends and i went to the eye to save andreja because we where married and i didn't want her to die.
this exact scenario jus happened to me😪 i had literally married Andreja right before i started this mission so i obviously had to save her, but Sarah is the leader of the whole group!! Sarah *shouldn't even have been an option* to let die.. i'm worried about how this'll affect my playthrough now
Same happened for me, Sarah or barrett was my choices. Easy pick to let barrett die. He was my emissary for the play through and I got to kill him again at the end. It was great.
This was easy peasy for me. I went to the Eye to save my wife Andreja. Sarah had been nagging me the ENTIRE game, so that didn't put the slightest hitch in my giddyup. Maybe on this next playthrough, I'll try and go to her funeral. Fun fact: she is FAR less annoying when she is wearing a bikini that you stole from a locker at Paradiso. ... ;)
I stayed but was no where near geared for it, he was basically invulnerable to my attacks. Basically we did a fighting retreat, the entire city joined in. Until i progressed in a quest the city was on shut down and basically on fire.
I killed the Emissary in that battle, but he respawned and when they talked to me from ship to ship, he congratulated me as being the first person to defeat him. The Big Bang works really well against the Starborn.
Damn I chose to stay and defend the lodge. I make it out to the getaway ship. The hunter decides to let me go. Then some ships just keep blowing me up. And I can’t get past it!
@@gabrielbutler6356 finally after getting blown up 10 times and got took back to when I launch the ship into space. I went thru the transmissions from the hunter, and as soon as it ended I hit the pause button, went to the star map and landed in a random location back on Atlantis. Then when I went back out to space I was good. But as soon as the hunter lets you go, and stops talking you gotta pause very quickly and go to the star map. Thank goodness I made it past it finally lol hope this helps you.
@@BillyBuckets951thr ships are targeting you because you made the UC security target you on the way to the getaway ship, ignore the hunter and don't shoot him while near the security and you won't be targeted by any ship

@@BillyBuckets951 I also had the ships attack me the first time I went through the mission, went back a bit further before going onto the ship and realized it was the uc security. After looking at the comments on this video this seems to happen too commonly
First play through I stayed at the lodge, even though Vladimir said over the intercom that my wife, Andreja had lost a lot of blood. She’d understand right? It’d be what she’d want. But when I got there and saw her actually dead? I had to reload the save. It was too painful to see. So I said fuck it, I need to save her. I told Sarah I was sorry, and I ran. Sarah didn’t even rebuke me. And then we returned, my wife ran towards Sarah crying like a child, begging her to not leave her. Now the entire lodge is leaderless and… just hollow.
I’m thinking it must depend on affinity… Sarah was and Andreja were my choices. In this current first timeline. I stayed in the Lodge cause I liked Walter and his moments with his wife. When I got to the eye Andreaja was dead…
I lost Sam and I'm shook. I was closest to him as I play as a space cowboy. I won't reload save. My choice was my choice and a necessary loss for the greater story. 😢
I got murdered staying in the Lodge, so I tried the eye and Barrett was dead when we got back, then 2 of the damned Starborn chased us through the crowds, loads of guards shooting them, me shooting them and not a bit of health gone; impossible to kill them it seemed.
What "triggers" who you have to choose between? I had to choose between Sam Coe and Andreja. Andreja is my wife and I find Sam and especially his daughter annoying so it was a no-brainer for me, but still curious.
i looked it up before i decided to stay or fight and the way it works is: [Defend the Lodge] = the companion with the highest affinity level dies, [Go to the Eye] = the companion with the 2nd highest affinity level dies. i married Andreja right before starting this mission, so i decided to go to the Eye and save her, but it just seems wrong for Sarah (the damn leader of the group) to be killed off, even if she was my 2nd closest companion. it should've been literally any of the other members BESIDES the actual leader...
An easier analysis is whichever place you DON'T go will have the companion that will die, and you are incorrect about "it should have been any other member besides the leader". It's about who your character is closest to, that's it. Who they are is irrelevant, and that's important too =)
@@thedefiantkingThat's how I would do it. Sadly, the game makes you automatically "closer" with Sarah at first because it forces you to have her as your companion for a bit early on. I'd definitely run with your "expendable" for awhile. Just remember when you get to "The Part", you stay/go to the location of whomever you want to live.

It's based on the affinity levels,1st & 2nd highest are the two options for saving & sacrificing,highest goes to The Eye,so you can manipulate the result before this battle,use affinity booster drugs (if you need to) to help quicken the process to arrange the sacrifice of your choosing & there is a social skill that helps,i think it's Leadership but i'm not 100% sure of the skills name sorry.. o7🚀 ps. If you want to do the 'Correct Thing' for the sake of immersion & defend The Lodge,make the sacrifice your highest affinity companion. I purposefully chose Barrett to sacrifice on my 2nd character play through,as i wanted to marry Andreja,keep Sarah as the leader & dealing with Sam's death due to Cora was a hard pill to swallow on my 1st character play through & IMO Barrett is a annoying tit. 👍
I only finished first step for Constelation quests and romance with Sara so i gues she is going to die first to see if its posible to romance another companion

@@smartzambie7559 After you take off in your ship the hunter will contact you from his ship and just don't attack. Use all the other prompts and he'll let you just grav jump away to the eye. I was dumb at went straight to the attack lol.

I was married then divorced to Sarah just before this.. Sam Coe was my companion leading up to this... choosing The Eye option had Sam Coe dying with a much more intense scene with Sarah then what she did for Barrett
Bruh I'm trying to go to the eye but when I get to space there's a level 18 ship I have to fight... He's easy but after I kill him I get like 30+ ships all attack me at once and there's literally nothing I can do about it... I've tried upgrading my ship alot but still with like 30+ ships all shooting me at once I die every single time. So I'm literally stuck

I havent gotten this far yet (have to go to akila city with sam and his daughter) but i wonder if maybe there is 'secret' method where maybe you fight the hunter and you beat him bad enough that he disappears for a time, and when you go to the eye perhaps the people are just injured and no one dies in the end. I hate these kind of quests .... ' you wanna kill barret, and save sarah ... or .... kill sarah and save bennet ' Curse you Bethesda!
So i had stumble upon this quest knowing nothing about sacrificing. And after further analysis i have to say on a gameplay standpoint the better choice would be to let Sam and Sarah lives because their traits are so good. So its either Barret or Andreja. One of these have to die for the other two to lived. Personally i would sacrificed Barret. Hes a fun guy and have better trait but i like Andreja more.

I was married to sarah but had andreja as a companion, i was going to go to the eye but the hunter turned up and i ended up going with the guys to my ship. Got to the eye after found sarah dead and now on a revenge mission to wipe the starborn out and burn thebl hunter alive 😅
This is a renewal of sorts of the infamous - 1970's movies'' endings. Where, it's a nice movie until the end and it all goes to heck in a shocking ending. To this very day I don't watch movies very often - they are not pleasant anymore... As the writers (and viewer I guess) want them to be. Now they have done it to a game I really like. Writers Suck, when they are lazy. With a little imagination they could have done much better.
Sam died on the eye when I stayed in the lodge. I tried to put Cora out of her misery as a mercy killing, but the game wouldn't let me. My character is in a relationship with Andreja and Sarah, so I couldn't care less when Sam was killed. Plus, I got his hat. Win win!😂
I will reload and try to sacrifice andreja , because i really like sarah and Barrett and I can't sacrifice sam since he has a daughter it would be too heartbreaking to lose him .
It was a differnt outcome for me, Sam was following me and i chose to defend the lodge, So Sarah died. I think if it was the other way Sam wld have died.

In my case it was Sarah and Sam in my firts run, but (a little spoiler ahead) if you do NG+ and go for the full story again, you can save all of them if you play your cards right.

I married Sarah in my game. After that I started traveling with Sam to see his story play out. This mission happens and I had to choose between going to The Eye for Sarah or protect the artifacts with Sam. I initially chose The Eye but Sam was like "We really need you down here" so I stayed, naively thinking they wouldn't kill off a main character. I loved it, even though I was bummed it really enhanced the rest of my playthrough.
Lol, Barret died, and I was like, "tsk, typical". Guess I was sucked into the way he talks himself up. 😄
Same. I originally stayed at the lodge and Sarah died on the eye, couldn't have that... Reloaded a previous save and went to the eye instead, came back to the lodge and found Barret dead and was just like "meh", I was more upset for them couple seconds that I thought Vasco was gone before he started talking again 😂
Huh, when I stayed with the Lodge, Sam was the one who died, not Andreja.... interesting. And yes, Cora blamed me for 'letting' him die. Not the Hunter, me. Talk about frustrating, especially having to shuttle her off with her mom at the end (who was a real.... piece of work. I could see why Sam divorced her.).

I had the same choice to make but in the opposite places . If I defended the lodge I saved Sarah from dying , if I went to the Eye I saved Barrett from dying . I saved Barrett as I wanted to see where his quests went .

I had to choose between Sam Coe and Andreja. I was paralyzed on making a decision that the game chose for me. Let’s just say my captain didn’t take too kindly to the Starborn, Sam was angry at them for breaking my captain’s heart and willingly waged a war with them that my captain out of fury decided that both needed to pay their dues.

For me it was Sarah on the eye and Barrett at the lodge. I made the choice to kill Sarah at first without wanting to and didn’t have a save to go back to that was any less than 3 hours of lost progress…so I speedran through stuff I already did to save Sarah, but I lost Barrett in the process.

mine was between sam and andreja, I just did an extremely long quest for the UC and no going back. andreja has been my main but sam has been my main partner for a while also cora would lose sam. hardest choice ive made in a game in a long time.

I defended the lodge and the knocked back the hunter then everyone in the lodge made a dash for the well - where I learned you don't fire your weapon in new Atlantis, for any reason. Once I made it to the shop we launched toward the eye. On the eye it was Sam that checked out permanently and I was not disappointed At All. So tired of his constant whining and insecurity! Ugh! Dude, I'm not your therapist! 😅 RIP Sam.🎉😂
I defended the lodge first and it was a good thing I saved, after it was over and I went to the eye and say that Sarah died I couldn't play or it didn't feel right playing without her so a loaded the save and went to the eye instead and was shocked when I came back to the lodge and Andreja died but i stayed with Sarah.
I was happy to be rid of her, and I wore her outfit when I emptied her chest.
Wife's up Andreja and she's was on the eye. Obvious choice was to go after here on the eye. Lost Sarah. That was epic. Named my ship the Sarah Moragn😂❤

For me it was either Sam or Sarah and i chose to defend the lodge. I literally broke down when I saw Sams dead body and Cora crying over it at the eye after, like I had to reload an old save. I had just had the dialogue with Sarah too when she finally opens up, and I didn’t tell her I loved her which I regret but I told her she’s my partner and I’d always have her back and I literally abandoned her and she died. this mission rly broke me I had to stop playing for the night ngl

For me, it was between sarah at the eye and sam at the lodge. i didn't realize at the time someone was going to die. So i went to the eye and helped sarah, since she was my wife, but when i got back, sam was dead. I wanted to load it back to see if maybe i could change the outcome, but i forgot to save
In the two run downs I've had with this attack, we lost Sam in the first one and Barrett in the second. Every time, I've always defended the lodge.
But I was surprised that Sarah died in your game. I thought she of all the companions, would have been the critical one of survive. After all, later on, you can't even dismiss her.
The game picks the 2 you have the highest affinity with and makes you choose between them.
@@joanned8172 I stopped that mission and will leave it for the very end of my playthrough. I lost Sarah which is now my wife, Andreja is my second highest character... and well I would hate to lose her. Barrett, is crucial for my ship, either i have to lvl up a lot more points to compensate, but not going to do the NG+ anyways...
My first playthrough it was to choose between Andreja or Sarah. My next, Sam and Barrett.
@@downix My preference for people are Barrett and Andreja. Don't care much for Sarah or Sam. Both of which moan quite a lot. Especially Sam. Take him on a trip to clear a bounty and he moans when I'm shooting the enemy. The only time he's never moaned is when we take out the gang on his planet (Shaws gang? I can't recall.).
But both Barrett and Andreja don't seem to care about blasting baddies.

I entered and exited the UC security with Yumi in it until my ship spawned correctly
It is weird! I chose to save Sam in the Eye and later I found it that I lose Sarah. I thouht keeping to defend the locker and runing away to the ship would preserve the both characters since all the crew was alive.
Anyway I can make sure it’s between Barrett and Andreja? Don’t really care for Andreja so I kind of want to make sure she’s the first one to go…do I need to travel with her for awhile??
It is about the affinity levels,the two highest affinity companions will be the sacrifice or who you save,use affinity boosting drugs to help speed up the process,there is also a skill that helps,i forget the name of it sorry but it's a social skill,maybe Leadership! 👍

In my beginning universe, I ran to the eye and everyone was ok. Came back to the lodge and Barrett was dead. When I met the Emissary, it was Barrett. Second universe, Emissary was Barrett again. Third universe, Emissary was Andreja. Fourth universe, Emissary was Sarah. Fifth, Emissary was Barrett again.
So higher relationship with a companion ie Sarah with high companionship and go to the eye, she survives??
It's my first playthrough and I just finished this...I went to the Eye and Sam Coe is the one who died at the Lodge. Extra sad because of Cora Coe. On the positive side, I got his outfit...much better than Barret's.
In my game, barrett was on the eye, so I saved the lodge, and because he was my husband, I went to the eye to save him
I had already romanced Sarah. I was going to have her defend the lodge, but I heard Walter choking. We escaped with Noel and Matteo and headed for the Eye. I found Cora crying over Sam's body yelling that she hated me. I'm crushed!

The city itself will reset resulting the penthouse to be completley emptied as if you were to just purchase it. So any decorations, chests, loot ,etc will be forever gone

Might be a weird comparison, but the story really stared to remind me of Steins;Gate here.
I just did the mission i got devastated when sarah died because we just became friends and i went to the eye to save andreja because we where married and i didn't want her to die.
this exact scenario jus happened to me😪 i had literally married Andreja right before i started this mission so i obviously had to save her, but Sarah is the leader of the whole group!! Sarah *shouldn't even have been an option* to let die.. i'm worried about how this'll affect my playthrough now
Same happened for me, Sarah or barrett was my choices. Easy pick to let barrett die. He was my emissary for the play through and I got to kill him again at the end. It was great.
First run-through I lost Sam. Knowing how Cora reacted.. never again..

This was easy peasy for me. I went to the Eye to save my wife Andreja. Sarah had been nagging me the ENTIRE game, so that didn't put the slightest hitch in my giddyup. Maybe on this next playthrough, I'll try and go to her funeral. Fun fact: she is FAR less annoying when she is wearing a bikini that you stole from a locker at Paradiso. ... ;)
I stayed but was no where near geared for it, he was basically invulnerable to my attacks. Basically we did a fighting retreat, the entire city joined in. Until i progressed in a quest the city was on shut down and basically on fire.
I killed the Emissary in that battle, but he respawned and when they talked to me from ship to ship, he congratulated me as being the first person to defeat him. The Big Bang works really well against the Starborn.
There is a way in Newgame+ that no one dies. Due to No one spoiling you will need to figure it out on ur own

Damn I chose to stay and defend the lodge. I make it out to the getaway ship. The hunter decides to let me go. Then some ships just keep blowing me up. And I can’t get past it!

@@gabrielbutler6356 finally after getting blown up 10 times and got took back to when I launch the ship into space. I went thru the transmissions from the hunter, and as soon as it ended I hit the pause button, went to the star map and landed in a random location back on Atlantis. Then when I went back out to space I was good. But as soon as the hunter lets you go, and stops talking you gotta pause very quickly and go to the star map. Thank goodness I made it past it finally lol hope this helps you.
@@BillyBuckets951thr ships are targeting you because you made the UC security target you on the way to the getaway ship, ignore the hunter and don't shoot him while near the security and you won't be targeted by any ship

After looking at the comments on this video this seems to happen too commonly
First play through I stayed at the lodge, even though Vladimir said over the intercom that my wife, Andreja had lost a lot of blood. She’d understand right? It’d be what she’d want. But when I got there and saw her actually dead? I had to reload the save. It was too painful to see. So I said fuck it, I need to save her. I told Sarah I was sorry, and I ran. Sarah didn’t even rebuke me. And then we returned, my wife ran towards Sarah crying like a child, begging her to not leave her. Now the entire lodge is leaderless and… just hollow.
I’m thinking it must depend on affinity… Sarah was and Andreja were my choices. In this current first timeline. I stayed in the Lodge cause I liked Walter and his moments with his wife. When I got to the eye Andreaja was dead…

I lost Sam and I'm shook. I was closest to him as I play as a space cowboy. I won't reload save. My choice was my choice and a necessary loss for the greater story. 😢
I got murdered staying in the Lodge, so I tried the eye and Barrett was dead when we got back, then 2 of the damned Starborn chased us through the crowds, loads of guards shooting them, me shooting them and not a bit of health gone; impossible to kill them it seemed.
What "triggers" who you have to choose between? I had to choose between Sam Coe and Andreja. Andreja is my wife and I find Sam and especially his daughter annoying so it was a no-brainer for me, but still curious.
i looked it up before i decided to stay or fight and the way it works is: [Defend the Lodge] = the companion with the highest affinity level dies, [Go to the Eye] = the companion with the 2nd highest affinity level dies. i married Andreja right before starting this mission, so i decided to go to the Eye and save her, but it just seems wrong for Sarah (the damn leader of the group) to be killed off, even if she was my 2nd closest companion. it should've been literally any of the other members BESIDES the actual leader...
An easier analysis is whichever place you DON'T go will have the companion that will die, and you are incorrect about "it should have been any other member besides the leader". It's about who your character is closest to, that's it. Who they are is irrelevant, and that's important too =)
How can I make sure Andreja dies? Do I have to let her be my companion for awhile?
@@thedefiantkingThat's how I would do it. Sadly, the game makes you automatically "closer" with Sarah at first because it forces you to have her as your companion for a bit early on. I'd definitely run with your "expendable" for awhile. Just remember when you get to "The Part", you stay/go to the location of whomever you want to live.

I married Sarah so when when I stayed to defend the lodge when we went to the The Eye and we found her died in my characters back story is Jeff he was thinking what is the point of finding this artifacts but I’ll keep looking to now I want to find a kill all of the starborn to revenge my wife if something bad is going to happen I might as well put it in my characters backstory

It's based on the affinity levels,1st & 2nd highest are the two options for saving & sacrificing,highest goes to The Eye,so you can manipulate the result before this battle,use affinity booster drugs (if you need to) to help quicken the process to arrange the sacrifice of your choosing & there is a social skill that helps,i think it's Leadership but i'm not 100% sure of the skills name sorry.. o7🚀
ps. If you want to do the 'Correct Thing' for the sake of immersion & defend The Lodge,make the sacrifice your highest affinity companion. I purposefully chose Barrett to sacrifice on my 2nd character play through,as i wanted to marry Andreja,keep Sarah as the leader & dealing with Sam's death due to Cora was a hard pill to swallow on my 1st character play through & IMO Barrett is a annoying tit. 👍

@@smartzambie7559 After you take off in your ship the hunter will contact you from his ship and just don't attack. Use all the other prompts and he'll let you just grav jump away to the eye. I was dumb at went straight to the attack lol.

I was married then divorced to Sarah just before this.. Sam Coe was my companion leading up to this... choosing The Eye option had Sam Coe dying with a much more intense scene with Sarah then what she did for Barrett

Bruh I'm trying to go to the eye but when I get to space there's a level 18 ship I have to fight... He's easy but after I kill him I get like 30+ ships all attack me at once and there's literally nothing I can do about it... I've tried upgrading my ship alot but still with like 30+ ships all shooting me at once I die every single time. So I'm literally stuck

I havent gotten this far yet (have to go to akila city with sam and his daughter) but i wonder if maybe there is 'secret' method where maybe you fight the hunter and you beat him bad enough that he disappears for a time, and when you go to the eye perhaps the people are just injured and no one dies in the end. I hate these kind of quests .... ' you wanna kill barret, and save sarah ... or .... kill sarah and save bennet ' Curse you Bethesda!

So i had stumble upon this quest knowing nothing about sacrificing. And after further analysis i have to say on a gameplay standpoint the better choice would be to let Sam and Sarah lives because their traits are so good. So its either Barret or Andreja. One of these have to die for the other two to lived. Personally i would sacrificed Barret. Hes a fun guy and have better trait but i like Andreja more.

Barret is too good of a combat companion to lose since he gets Parallel Self later on

This is a renewal of sorts of the infamous - 1970's movies'' endings. Where, it's a nice movie until the end and it all goes to heck in a shocking ending. To this very day I don't watch movies very often - they are not pleasant anymore... As the writers (and viewer I guess) want them to be. Now they have done it to a game I really like. Writers Suck, when they are lazy. With a little imagination they could have done much better.

Sam died on the eye when I stayed in the lodge. I tried to put Cora out of her misery as a mercy killing, but the game wouldn't let me. My character is in a relationship with Andreja and Sarah, so I couldn't care less when Sam was killed. Plus, I got his hat. Win win!😂

It was a differnt outcome for me, Sam was following me and i chose to defend the lodge, So Sarah died. I think if it was the other way Sam wld have died.
