Excellent video on learning how to be knowledgeable when you take your mandolin in for setup And might I add that you have provided all of this information free for us, TY again
+Aidan Avery Glad to hear it! Depending on where you bought it from, it may not need any of this sort of work. "If it ain't broke don't fix it" as they say. Happy picking, and welcome to the wonderful world of mandolins!
Truss rod adjustment isn't usually needed unless you have large changes in humidity. But several luthiers I have talked to have mentioned that most long-term failures on unused guitars they see are due to the truss rod never being exercised.
Thanks a lot! Just bought my first mandolin to do some experimenting besides playing the guitar. It will need some adjustments, so thank you for explaining. Just one thing: Try to avoid saying "uhm" that often :) Some people might find it hard to listen to. Anyway, good job!
Mmm... so what I'm understanding from buzzing, it's kind of like in a mechanical keyboard it sounds hollow, then you add some dampening inside the keyboard shell.
Hey Baron, I noticed you didn’t mention anything about The Bridge needing to be flat to the body and if not the Bridge can be sanded if you have a Wooden Bridge.

Nice A style - I have never heard of Ellis model before. It appears there are many more mandolin makers than guitar.
