Such an awesome review bro. You covered everything I wanted to know. I used the MMX100 wired and they are one of my favorite of all time so I'm excited for this.
Actually for me not needing another app is great. Fed up with everything needing a companion app. Also one big thing about beyerdynamic, the headphones are build in Germany and also typically really repairable. Don't know if those are as well but the DT 700 Pro for example are easily disassembled and repaired if something ever breaks.
I agree in terms of the quality, it’s really there and you can feel the difference. And also we can update the headset which is a good thing, just really wish I could tweak the EQ to add to the user customization. But I totally get where you’re coming from, sometimes less is more!
@@sideoftech Yeah I get that. If I had to guess they probably thought its not needed in their case because 1 they have a specific niche in the market I think where if you buy stuff from them you know what sound signature you'll get. The frequency response look pretty similar to other beyer headphones. Also they are known for studio equipment where you typically use your own EQ. Obviously not an excuse why it couldn't be an option. I just find it funny to think about how the decisions were made :D
People know about it, the 100 and 150 are identical they are just Wired. I love Beyerdynamic but the price tag is too high for the competition vs. Value of this headset
For me no app is a win, I moved to Ducky keyboard for the sole reason that I don't need any software for it. If you want to, you can always use 3rd party EQ
They have a better mic than the one you recorded with xD Seriously, bass balance is a bit off (I mean of mmx 200) and it sounds a bit 'punchy' but very high quality overall. As the headphones themselves, I'd rate them higher than the Logis, especially when listening to music with them. The problem is, same as Audeze Maxwell, they are always sold out due to semi-manual production and you need some luck to buy a pair.
If You not consider the wireless functionality as must needed, is worth buying the MMX 300 instead of the MMX 200? I have dedicated soundcard (Sound Blaster Z), currently using the Steelseries Arctis pro wireless. Bought it because of work, but the wireless functionality is not essential for me at the moment. Yes its a good thing to have but not decisive. Based on this You would use the MMX 300 or still go with the MMX 200?
In my opinion, if you have your own DAC that you can plug in your headset, I’d always go with a wired connection. You don’t have to worry about any latency or connection issues and usually the mic will be much better. Although the MMX 200 has very low latency and an amazing mic, if you don’t care much for wireless then I think the 300 would be worth it. Just wait for a sale!
@@sideoftech Thanks for the answer, unfortunately Beyerdynamic not ships to my country so i can not buy trough their website. Its not really a known brand here, so not many shops sell these headset. (Had mmx 300 Gen1 in the past and also DT 990, but its a bit tricky to buy here :D)
Wow I'm so glad I found your channel! Loved your review but I'm still a little bit unsure about it tho, should I buy this at full price or the logitech g pro x2? I don't mind the bluetooth between multiple devices and I won't use the mic because I use an external one 😅
Thank you! Honestly, if you aren’t using this headset’s mic then I’d get the g pro x2. I feel like the biggest standout feature on the 200 is the mic so if you have no need for it then g pro x2 is the way to go!
hi Good video and content. While watching the video I saw that you have a very nice stand for your headphones. Could you tell me the brand of that stand? thank you!!!
Thank you, I'm glad you enjoyed! The stand in the thumbnail is from Grovemade. The other stand I use is from Balolo which integrates into the desk shelf system. Hope this helps!
I’d say it’s basically the MMX 300 but wireless. Of course sound and mic performance will be better with the wired headset but this is as close as it can get in terms of wireless headsets go. Only thing that sucks is the lack of software and simultaneous Bluetooth is not seamless!
@@sideoftech Excellent. Thanks for your impressions. I was trying to decide if I should add it to the collection or not. Doesn't seem to be a must-have.
Hey, had the mmx 200 for two days its really quiet do you have any general EQ settings to help? I keep messing around with apo peace but i just cant seem to get it right. I used to use a corsair virtuoso if that helps.
@@Dewdis_ I did eventually find a setting that matched my needs but I just returned the headset because they started all of sudden having the volume fluctuate as I use them when playing video games and calling friends and would become super bass boosted like in those heavily edited memes I wish I could just post a screenshot of my settings for you but I will try to type it pre-amp=19.5 bass gain = 4 frequencies 10, 32, 64, 125, 250, 500, 577, 1000, 2000, 4000, 8000, 16000, 20000 gain value 0, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1, 1, 2, 4, 6, 7, 8, 9 I had my pc volume set at 50 and this was the best it sounded for me while I played games and watched shows and talk to friends on discord. Its a shame I really really loved the headset and while the lack of features for the price was a downside its an even more of a downside that it was causing more issues than I really wanted.
@SideofTech How is the clamping force? Will it slide off your head when leaning head forward or back? I had to return cloud 3 wireless because they had no clamping force.
This is tough because the audio and features of the g pro x are so good but at the same time MMX 200’s ridiculously good. If you don’t care about mic and just want to experience a game’s audio more, get the G Pro X, but if you want one of the best mics and communicate with friends, the MMX 200 is gonna more right for you!
If you can get the arctis pro wireless on sale and you’re cool with the noise cancellation nubs that stick out in the earcups then I’d suggest those! The beyerdynamics I’d suggest if you just want a no nonsense headset that performs great and has an amazing mic
Unfortunately not, but the transparency mode kind of acts as a replacement since you can hear yourself and the surroundings more. Thanks for the kind words! 😄
I don get it. It is Beyerdynamic. The Sound is as good as any other (expensive) headset, battery is good, features are weak but on PC you don't need them and. It has one of the best wireless mics on the market. So price is still high but fine.
I myself have never owned an xbox so I wouldn't be the ideal person to ask. That being said, I know Arctis makes really great XBOX dedicated headphones. I'd look into the Nova Pro wireless or if you're more on a budget, their 7 series is also pretty good! I used to have both for the PS5 👍🏼
