He was at my cousin Jimmy’s cancer benefit along with Dan Hampton and Otis Wilson and they signed my football because I am a young fan. A couple months later all three of them were at Jimmy’s funeral. I am so sad to hear that he isn’t doing good now.
Sadly, McMichael has been diagnosed with Lou Gehrig's Disease. He went public in an interview for _The Chicago Tribune._ The Chicago Bears organization footed the bill for a specialized wheelchair-- and his mobility is now limited.
I am a Chicago Bears fan. And if I would have played for the Chicago Bears I would have not played for the Greenbay Packers. Like Mongo played for both teams.
From a Chicagoan's viewpoint in 2024.... his current suffering is all the more disheartening, when viewed in the context of the deplorable state of the performance of the Bears in the past 20 years. Of course, the game is trivial compared to his health..... but too bad that all the Hall-of-Famers of the 85 team are part of a tradition that has no bearing on the present and future "dogs" of their division. These were great players.....for the worst owners.
Hall of Famer Steve “Mongo” McMichael. Congrats and LONG overdue.
Damn straight truth.
I miss the old espn, before they got all political.
So true

He looks like John Denver on steroids.
He lived life for sure.
