this music is so bittersweet to me. It means that, yes, I'm not in danger right now, I can rest and breathe... but I also know that it cannot last. I can't delay the inevitable forever.
To be honest, even then you shouldn't linger for too long because one of your internal clocks are still ticking. You can't waste hunger and need to stay on the move for more food
@@ChillyMakesMusic You most certainly did! It reminds me of the track 'Cafe Florida' in Shin Megami Tensei IV. A short moment of respite away from all the dread/misery outside the Cafe. Very similar experience!
With like 10 heath and 30 mind on most of your party you wernt even sure you would make it. Yet here you are. Still alive to face the nightmares later. But for now listen to this banger.
How is this so underrated? I was on the fence on buying Termina due to poor budget but damn, it's worth it for this song alone, let alone as a package deal with everything else. Truly one of a kind experience, my only shame is getting to know this masterpiece so late.
I would also like to comment on the cover, as someone else did - it's a perfect representation of the game, just as the song portrays in its own style. I wouldn't have it any other way, just the raw reality of this game. There's a certain charm to be found in its violent nature.
This is why hanging out in PRHVL Bop restores your Mind and also makes it enjoyable to actually wait in real time for it to do so, from a player's perspective.
Fuck man, exactly I was doing the last ending few days ago and after being done with everyone else just giving Marcoh and Daan a meatpie, Olivia a vegetable one I had to finish them off. I didn't go for limbs and oneshot them but it still felt oh so awful. They were with me all this time and I just had to do it to appeal to some forgotten god It's especially hurting when they don't want to fight, only acting in self defence even though they hate to do it and know they got no chances, like Olivia This music is just so strong, even when you don't kill them all off. Just talking with people about their hopes, dreams, past, interests. It feels so cozy but fragile. Almost as if you were sitting in the foxhole with fellow soldiers. Talking as if you could just go to each other's weddings, meet up later, have a dance together, even though you know it won't happen, but you hope for it. I'd like to imagine that the characters could meet someday, long later and maybe even playing those instruments, I don't know who would go for the bass for example, but oh god do I hope Levi learns playing a piano someday like his mother did I guess we won't know until funger 3 comes out and makes certain parts canon (unless it's a prequel lol)
I can't stress enough how much I love these tracks! I cannot wait for Termina to hear them in-game because you captured such a beautiful feeling in both of the songs!
This song, it makes me think of a life that's been destroyed by circumstances beyond control, that one day for a few moments you remember how things used to be. It's very good.
This is to me the best track in the entire game. The orphanage track is a close second, but this one. How cosy and yet melancholic it is. It tells you, it reminds you that these people are fighting to survive the impeding doom of the moon god and here is a place where they can rest, even if it's not gonna rest forever.
You're listening to "Lost Haven" and it's follow-up piece "Shillings" on 202.1, TRMA AM. Music to heal the soul and strengthen the mind from horror. Hope you're having a nice night in these troubling times. The peace won't last forever so let's make the most of it and don't give into despair.
God, I've only watched a friend play this game but, still, to this day, Lost Haven is stuck in my head. It's *such* a good track, and excellently nails an incredibly specific vibe that I love.
I think this may just be the music of the year for me. The feelings that come with this song is hard to explain. On one hand, you find a new home for yourself in the midst of chaos. Outside, mutated creatures with blood lust are after you, but down here you are safe- you have a safe eating spot, a bar to refresh yourself, strategize in the downstairs map room, even play music on the stage. On the other hand however, you realize you can't stay here for long. You have to make your way to the tower, exploring the town and somehow finding a way out of this place. You can't stay in this comfort zone forever. I think the bittersweetness of this music perfectly reflects how I feel about the PRHVL Bop.
Have beem learning mathematics with the help of my mom recently, and i leave this music music playing on the tv while we do so. Me and her always make jokes on how "cute" this moment of mother and son is with the artwork in the video always in the backcrownd while she teaches me. Love my mom :)
The first time I got in here was on my first playthrough and, unsurprisingly, everything went to shit. But it really did feel magical stepping in here again and made want to do it all over again. I cannot describe how much this game improves upon the original just by having so much more music.
i've put this on loop for a few hours at least once every 3 days. It fit whatever the context is; be it when i'm on my phone, hanging out with people, writing or browsing the internet. never got bored of this song somehow. a miracle indeed. incredible piece, my friend.
What a nice moment of peace, when I arrived with Levi, Marina, Daan and Karin, it was such a chill and enjoyable moment between all the chaos and nightmares.
Hey amazing soundtrack! It fits perfectly the world of the game but if I may ask, what were the inspirations for both of the songs? they sound very 1940s which I'm sure was intentional but I cannot put my finger on what song it reminds me of. Again amazing soundtrack, it's kinda amazing meeting legends like you, back in the day if you heard like some great music like in Silent Hill you couldn't message the artist and tell them "hey great song bro"
Thank you for the kind words! 🙏 The sound I was going for in Lost Haven is split between two things, namely I wanted to use an organ tone similar to one Orange had already used, (on the train, etc) but I also wanted to have an authentic jazz tone, so I swiped some brushed drums and horn melodies from various sample sites, and built my own little chords underneath them. There wasn't a particular artist or song that I lifted anything from, though. In Shillings, however, the structure is VERY heavily inspired by a Charles Mingus tune called "Moanin" with a bassline swiped from Pink Floyd's "Money" (which inspired the Shillings title lol) Also! Im hardly a LEGEND! As it stands I'm still just a rookie! But comments like this give me the motivation I need to keep chasing this dream. So thank you, I mean it.
@@ChillyMakesMusic Well if you aren't a legend, yet, you are atleast very much gifted with a good ear for music. There aren't many games in the same gerne which soundtrack not only add to the gameplay but manage to describe the whole scene without needing visual aid. Hope I'll hear your soundtrack in a big game one day. I want to add that the Vinyl scratching effect and that slight distortion that gives it a gramophone/radio effect is something I like a lot, I know how it's not that easy to get it sounding just right so I wanna let you know, I noticed friend.
Best music in the entire game. After nightmarish noises that pass for soundtracks and a couple of decrepit haunting tracks that resemble music, this is such a nice reprieve once you first stumble across the bar.
Starting playing the game. Man this feel so depressing when you arrive in the city and this place. Not only this is a safe place, but it reminds you that people were there, even with horrible life is in there. Now there is nothing besides the survivors. This get more depressing if you killed everyone, but at least I am happy that you can save them. Hope I can do this in the game lol.
Although it is obvious that many things about fear and hunger are based on Silent Hill, every time I listen to Alone In The Town from Silent Hill 2 or this song I feel like they are the same somehow
I'd love a special ending, after saving everyone. All contestants on one photography, drinkig and smiling in Prehevil BOP, and "Shillings" playing in the background 🥺

Yes I did compose this! In Terminas OST I composed: Lost Haven/Shillings, Wayward Souls, Unknowable, and Denied The Light. (Soon to be more in the coming update)
