I've fished jerk baits for 50 years. Caught my first bass in 1968 with a jerk bait on Lake Seminole and I've been fishing them ever since. I fish them year round because they are very effective. One thing people need to realize is not all jerk baits are created equal. Not all can be fished with the slow roll. A Rouge has a good wobble on a slow roll not all do. I kinda wish you hadn't told everyone about the slow roll jerk but you are right it does work. But like every bait and technique their is a time and place for everything. I enjoyed your video and I've caught monster spots at Lanier and Allatoona on jerk baits.
Nice story! 1968 your first bass, pretty cool. Crazy how fishing went from....kinda an "uncool" sport, to friggin awesome!!!! Sooooooorta like golf until Tiger came along n made it "hip'' lol.
Hey brother I heard about twitch jerkbaits I haven't have much luck finding them. Reason I ask the crank jerk bait you have to snap aggressive which after awhile your arm will tire. Where can you find the twitch style jerk bait I don't see those really at all there hard to find. I got back to fishing a year ago after a long time away from fishing due to circumstances of location an not driving sadly
Final update: this little reel is the little engine that could th-cam.com/users/postUgkxSlytCJqozTF7EbdP4LWP-HUXf9WRDJ0e . It performed flawlessly and was easy to adjust drag in the moment while I was battling a 35lb bat ray behemoth. Mind you, this reel is spooled with only 25 lb braid and 25 mono topshot. It's paired with the kastking telescopic heavy power rod and the two work well together. This has now earned my respect and confidence when traveling and fishing. If you have ever hooked into large rays and sharks, you know they pull extremely hard and can run forever! This thing clamped down on the fish and was easy to adjust during the fight. It has a nice decently fast retrieve as well. Twice the fish went on mad runs and I was able to gain back line quickly to avoid spooling.
2-3-24 @7:35 pm. Nice video. No mention of your name. My name is Jim and I fish as much as possible. Mainly for bass but it depends what the lake has to offer. Sometimes I want crappie or perch for the table. Im hopeful warm weather gets here soon. Im in Ohio.
I can attest to this tip working. I only recently got back into fishing for the first time in YEARS so I didn't know the "right" way to fish these lures. I started moving the jerkbait just like he showed while experimenting and the bites just started rolling in. Now my favorite lure
Last night I bought an Rapala X-Rap and this morning I tried your jerking technique and caught a 5.6Lbs Smallmouth Bass. I couldn't believe it!! A personal best!! Thank you!
Hey Noah just wanted to say I tried your technique I caught about 12 good sized largemouth in about an hour. Personal record for size(4lbs) and quantity for me! Absolutely got slammed on the jerkbait and swimbait with these tricks.
Yeah boy, that mega bass jerkbait just caught me 12 nice ones this mourning.they were hammering it!definitly one of my all time favorite spring time lures 💯
This guy is great but I would say KVD has a few videos on jerkbaits that really really go in on detail if your really wanting to get serious about jerk baits he’s kinda the worlds best jerk bait angler but Noah does an amazing job explaining as well
I love jerkbaits. This is my first year fishing and found it my favorite lure of all time. It’s so versatile and, it catches fucking fish. Amazing, I personally like the Strike Pro Beakster, it has a very tight action and it’s very realistic compared to other jerkbaits. Tight lines bro
I am quit inexperienced. I see lot’s of fishing videos. Non are as descriptive as this on how to use bait. Thank you. I’ll try this ASAP. Keep doing what you are doing.
A megabass 110 will only suspend if the water is below 50 degrees. It will slowly rise if its above 50. Alot of people dont know this. A lucky craft pointer is the same way.
Makes sense...manufacturers probably err in that direction so that these baits won’t sink. What’s worse? A little rise toward the surface or a little dip down into the log you’re trying to cover.
I know where that is. I fish their all the time. Their is big fish in there but that place is extremely deep. Like 35+ deep. I think most of the giants are way down their until spawn. Drop shot works very well. (First pond)
I will have to try that this weekend. I throw the Megabass vision 110 as well as the 110+1 and +2. I also throw the Jackall Rerange 110. I kill the bass in Arizona with them. I have never tried the slow real though. Let's see if I can get a few slabs this weekend. Thanks for the tip.
Already tried and caught fish just reeling a jerkbait b4 I even seen this vid, it does work and depending on ur hooks u don't have to set the hook, just lean back to keep pressure on the fish and reel it in.
You have said this on TH-cam before cuz I remember watching that video and I've never forgotten it. Because you were the only person I've ever heard say to do this and it works cuz I've used that tip ever since then
Please make that video. Jerk bait has been a hard one for me to master. This one helps a bunch. Thanks for the great video. I'm still learning how to use the baits. I have master weightless texas rig, worms, Seknos and craws.
when it comes to jerkbait fishing i stick to mega bass with a few other brands here and there but i was curious if you swap your hardware. when it comes to the vision 110, the ito shiner, the 110 junior, and the LBO the katsuage outbarbs are quite light wire. i started switching the front and back hook to owner stingers and leaving the middle. wanted to know if you swap hardware as well and if so, what trebles are you using.
I absolutely love your videos Man. Every time I watch a video of yours, I learned something new. Thanks for all of the helpful tips. I do have a suggestion though, do some underwater filming. It looks like you have theSupport of your followers and support from all of your subscribers and by couple go pros and smash them under water in a pool in there you go. Just would love to Actually see how it moves under water instead of trying to visualize
Got one kinda like that one without the black spot and more of a shine on the side and no red undertone, top is almost exactly the same as yours and bottoms a lil less purplish
Yeah, they work great for the price. With a slightly larger hook replacement they suspend well. The megabass are great, but I can’t say I have too many due to the price lol. My favorites that are right in the middle, price point wise, are the rapala shadow raps and ripstops, and the lucky craft pointers. Those three are right around 10-12 a piece.
Noah .... I think that's your name ...lol...I subscribe to a bunch of fishing channels and by far you are the most thorough teacher out of all of them.. You really break things down for viewers even just the technique we should be using for different baits and lures...really helps the weekend fisherman catch more FISH - lets go KICK SOME BASS !!! Great Job !!! SEAN K - NORTHEAST .... NORTH OF BOSTON MASSACHUSETTS
Bro you are not Joking about jerk bait catching grips of bass . I use a jerk bait all year and it catches huge bass and alot of small ones . Great video bro , love the swag you give off keep it up 🎣
I can attest Slow Rolling a jerkbait with a slight twitch works! My very first time throwing a 15 year-old jerkbait that my dad gave me produced some quality fish for me that day
I would like to see a video fishing next to a boat ramp because when I go to the lake for Memorial Day and the 4th of July and any other holiday like that, I be fishing next to the boat ramp or back in the corner
Funny a couple of days I was fishing in some aqueducts and I don’t know why but I just started reeling instead of jerking and from getting no bites out of the sudden I caught 5 striped bass. 5 bites wasn’t able to set hook. 2 days later same shit . Works even better than jerking sometimes
Thank you so much actually i bought a new rod and i can't wait till I try it tomorrow, and ill use your tip hopefully it will work cause i feel like this is good 👍🏼👍🏼cause you garra understand the fish's mind and that's a perfect way to fish. GOOD job 👏🏼👍🏼🐟👌🏼💯💯
This is crazy because I did the same thing today and tore them up and had to look up what a jerkbait looks like to make sure it wasn’t a crank bait so I knew what to look for at Walmart lol
Ive been slow reeling the bait in and only pop it about 2 times before its in. Ive always done it that way... Thats how I thought it was suppose to be done since ive always caught so many fish doing that. Thought I was going to learn something from this video, but i learned the opposite, how to do it correctly and I was doing it wrong. lmao im dumb. But hey it works... lol

The slow reeling trick is an old school east tennessee trick. The old school way is used on a bomber long a. And your right it will flat out catch em.
Last night I bought an Rapala X-Rap and this morning I tried your jerking technique and caught a 5.6Lbs Smallmouth Bass. I couldn't believe it!! A personal best!! Thank you!
should do some underwater videos like matt allen on tacticalbassin. thatll be nice.
micky blueEyes for sure man!!
@@KickinTheirBASSTV quick question could I just snap my wrist an ensure my wrist returns pointing to jerkbait would that work?
I was taught that trick by an old tournament Fisherman, It works! Glad to see you share this tip
Hey Noah just wanted to say I tried your technique I caught about 12 good sized largemouth in about an hour. Personal record for size(4lbs) and quantity for me! Absolutely got slammed on the jerkbait and swimbait with these tricks.
This helped me out a lot I caught a fish after I watched this but it wasn’t a bass lol it was a big pike almost 7 pounds 👍🏾
Thanks for sharing. I fished 30yrs and learned a lot on this..you can crawl a spinner in deep water working slow,I've had super days like that
haha just crackin up when he talking about the tip
Yeah boy, that mega bass jerkbait just caught me 12 nice ones this mourning.they were hammering it!definitly one of my all time favorite spring time lures 💯
Just recently found your channel and you’re by far the best tips guy and some of the best vids love the channel
This guy is great but I would say KVD has a few videos on jerkbaits that really really go in on detail if your really wanting to get serious about jerk baits he’s kinda the worlds best jerk bait angler but Noah does an amazing job explaining as well

I litterly was just about to comment almost exactly what I bout to say
Dang man I literally watched 3 mins of your video and learned what I'm doing wrong. Thank you so much for the video bro
same here man🤣
I am quit inexperienced. I see lot’s of fishing videos. Non are as descriptive as this on how to use bait. Thank you. I’ll try this ASAP. Keep doing what you are doing.
Hey brother just looked up what these are and you came out again so thanks for this content it's great learning from you so thanks
A megabass 110 will only suspend if the water is below 50 degrees. It will slowly rise if its above 50. Alot of people dont know this. A lucky craft pointer is the same way.
Same with 95% of all suspending jerkbaits. Just spent an hour tuning mine for this week.
Makes sense...manufacturers probably err in that direction so that these baits won’t sink. What’s worse? A little rise toward the surface or a little dip down into the log you’re trying to cover.
Most people don't know that water temperature effects baits.
I just recently fished a jerkbait by the aqueducts and I have to say you're right! Slow retrieval and a little pop does the trick.
I bought a mega bass last month at bass pro can’t wait to use it
Immediately caught a bass using your technique thank you
It is a good tip man! I do that when they are a little more aggressive. I tend to pause it a lot more when they are barely eating anything.
If you use the twisted treble hooks the fish hook themselves lol. No hook set required. Total Easy Mode
I know where that is. I fish their all the time. Their is big fish in there but that place is extremely deep. Like 35+ deep. I think most of the giants are way down their until spawn. Drop shot works very well. (First pond)
Corey Banks imma have to go back for sure. thanks for watching!!
there dude it’s there not their, there.
Oh Yeah Yeah nigga stfu
Where is the pond at? Im from ga. I would love to come fish. I catch and release 👍
Thanks for the video, first time bass fisherman here.
Gona try these tips in the morning, wish me luck. Thx !
The slow reel technique definitely works. I'm not a bash fisherman, but I do fish for walleye/saugeye and the slight wobble drives them nuts.
That rod and reel look so good together
Red and black always look good together, on anything. The reel is a little too dull red though.
Because you were the only person I've ever heard say to do this and it works cuz I've used that tip ever since then
Can you please teach us how to catch in different waters, like rivers, lakes vs pond
Just caught a 3 pounder this morning using your tip ✊🏽 #Respect #BringDadBack
Your techniques are similar to what I do with a megabass vision 110 jerk bait and it works. Great video 👍
Im rockin that rap shad lure. Fish on dude 🤘
Awesome tip can’t wait to go try it out
Thanks for sharing your secrets. I will try it for sure.
Good advice! Proven to work on my last session. They follow the bait as it wobbles, and the jerk makes them crunch it. Good looking out🎣
I bought a small and a large green and orange tiger jerkbait and a shiny silver one exited to use them in the summer
Please make that video. Jerk bait has been a hard one for me to master. This one helps a bunch. Thanks for the great video. I'm still learning how to use the baits. I have master weightless texas rig, worms, Seknos and craws.

Another great tip video thank you
Jimmie Glass thank you!!
Got one kinda like that one without the black spot and more of a shine on the side and no red undertone, top is almost exactly the same as yours and bottoms a lil less purplish
Dick's Sporting Goods has jawbone jerkbaits for $2.99. They work great and it won't break the bank.
Yeah, they work great for the price. With a slightly larger hook replacement they suspend well. The megabass are great, but I can’t say I have too many due to the price lol.

Does this technique of jerking and twitching with slack line work on small minnow lures also?

Do you use braid at all, Noah?
Great, now I understand how I should work my jerkbaits for pike, I was wondering why I get no strikes..
Thanks man. Maybe ill catch one on my provoke
Thank you for the tip brother!!! Keep reeling them in.
How do you paint over the jerkbait? Do you just put a new set of primer over the clear coat and paint it?
Thanks for sharing your tips! I will definitely try it out next time.
I can attest Slow Rolling a jerkbait with a slight twitch works! My very first time throwing a 15 year-old jerkbait that my dad gave me produced some quality fish for me that day
Where did you get the SS127 kayak at?
Does this technique works in ocean shore fishing
Thank you for this video,👍👍👍nice content,.
Love spotted bass
What's a good FISH scent to use. And do you use. It. .
Thanks for the advice I been using my jerk baits wrong appreciate the advice greatly

Fantastic *Fishing* CONGRATULATIONS Fisherman!
Have a great week!
Hug!👍🎣🐠🐟
How heavy is that joke beat and how far can you throw it with your rod I have a lews 7.5 gear ratio But I can’t seem to throw it that far
I would like to see a video fishing next to a boat ramp because when I go to the lake for Memorial Day and the 4th of July and any other holiday like that, I be fishing next to the boat ramp or back in the corner
What’s your approach with soft plastic jerk baits? Rigging tips? Bait types. Thanks for the tips very helpful.
Is it better to shop for fishing gear on black friday or wait until christmas?
Sorry its too late now, but Tacklewarehouse gives 20% off on almost all gear during Black Friday. Another great time is their 4th of July sale.
I do that with jerk baits. It does work caught my first walleye like that. And also decent pike and even catfish. You really are not lying.

Any tips for fishing the Columbia River? It separates Oregon from Washington
Wouldn't the jerk bait surface upward toward the surface when jerking the lure upwards?
what about during heat of summer, do you still have success with jerkbait? Is it effective when fish are in deep water?
Ive done this and it works well !!
Awesome tips bro, keep them coming. This Georgia weather has been weird lately. Wonder how it will effect the bite this month
My day has now been made!
Delton Rushing you the man!
KickinTheirBASSTV I’m going out fishing tomorrow. HMU on insta if you wanna join!
What is the best action rod for jerk bait fishing? m or mh
This is crazy because I did the same thing today and tore them up and had to look up what a jerkbait looks like to make sure it wasn’t a crank bait so I knew what to look for at Walmart lol
Ive done this with floating jerk baits along shallow logs with zero jerk action and caught bass. Just a slow constant retrieve.
U R Absolutely Right, Thanks For The Tip.
Do u know what brand jerk bait has the lip that moves on it?
BamaBassFinder04 4 mega bass makes one!
But hey it works... lol
This works awesome on Indiana bucket mouths.
If you fish shallow water, use a floating jerkbaits. Use suspending around 7-8ft range. Deep divers in deeper than 10ft...
Now watch me use s jerkbait, I work it fast non stop and catch numbers. I'm clear water keep it moving, that's key. Check my videos see how many fish I pull in a session.
Your the best

Do you prefer mega bass over the sixth sense jerk baits
Always been my favorite bait a lil pricey at times but thanks for the tips keep up the great work
