FINALLY, someone else is taking the time to mention that depending upon or using the LIVE technology out there will slowly wear away at the basic skills that it's taken so long for us to acquire. When you're on the boat staring at that screen, consider never complaining about your kids gaming or living on their phone. You're doing it now Dad...
Bass pro shop now has a Staredown 100+1 jerkbait for $8.99. It's an exact copy of the Megabass Vision 110 jr. I saw one called exo shad which was elegy bone and a table rock version. I got the last elegy bone at my local spot. Looks like they got all new lures!
Jerkbait is the best, my favorite hardbait by a mile. That thing work all year long around smallmouth. My go to lineup is Rapala Ripstop, Rapala Shadow Rap, Megabass Vision 110 JR and 13Fishing Whipper Snapper, 4 different sizes for way too many options.
Great video, I really enjoy your content. I’ll be tying on a vision oneten when I go out in a couple days. I wanna love a jerkbait. This video really helps. Lol
Lead wire works well out in the field. Much easier than trying to get a suspen dot on or changing a hook while out there. I think .020 is the diameter you want.
I have 2 different jerk baits in 2 different colors.I’m honestly struggling with how to work them.i came here because I’m determined to catch someone on one.thank you for your advice and tips !
So i have a paddle kayak (pelican catch 110) that i really want to get more comfortable fishing with. I dont have any electronics for it or anything. But my biggest issue is my balance. If im standing and i have to set the hook i miss alot because i dont give it enough of the business so i dont fall in. Do you have any tips on building up balance or stability on the kayak?
Hey man I had the same kayak 4 years ago and I had no stability in it whatsoever they call these cheaper kayaks fishing kayaks but a lot of them don’t have much stability i kept it a year and just worked on my fishing techniques and then I upgraded to an SS 127 and it was the best decision I ever made I met @flukemaster at the classic expo and got so see his kayak and ask some questions and I pulled the trigger on it now I’m rigged up with electronics and working on installing the xi3 it’s an amazing kayak and well worth the money
@@BrennnenHouse im looking at upgrading to a peddle drive kayak so it might be a upgrade that will help with my balance in that case. Im still working on my balance, i figure the more i fish while attwmpting to stand and set the hook, the better ill get.
Yes and yes. I haven't updated my guide page yet but I'll work on that ASAP. You can find it on Fishing Chaos under Charters. Just search for Flukemaster.
Man I just wanna say , that is such a sweet ass yak set up! That’s like my dream set up lol! Love the videos man!! Taught me soo much since I just started fishing lol
When I have a fish on, I reel on really fast until its ashore. When I see youtubers they reel the fis more slowly with pauses. Can someone please explain this to me? Am I fighting fish wrong?
Good timing for this guide seems the entire bassmasters was using some sort of jerkbait, fluke or minnow. Saw a little bit of senko, jig fishing as well.
Livescope is like wall hacking in first shooting video games 😅. It's fun for the short term but competitively and socially it is not acceptable. Just remember to just have fun.
@@Flukemaster I'm sorry man that sucks. I love watching your videos, I always learn something on them and they're entertaining. Watching you fish has a big impact on how I fish. Most of what I know about fishing has come from you.
Sorry to hear @@Flukemaster. You seem to be a pretty positive guy, confident you'll get something better soon. Appreciate the high quality videos, been a longtime watcher.

Man its good to have some new videos. Undeniably some of the most entertaining and informative stuff out there.
Love the split ring tip going to use that one.
Glad it was helpful!
What a great video. Thanks for breaking it down for us new guys 🏆
maybe one of the more honest assessments of live scope I've heard

Lead wire (or soldering wire) wrapped on the treble hooks works great for tweaking weight too.
Thats what my grandpa always taught me. Thats why i have some in my tacklebox and have as long as i can remember.
Can you use snap swivel with Jerkbait?
What brand, size trebble for the vision io?
I’m so glad to see you happy to be fishing. And I’m still hoping you’ll come down to Oconee. I’d get my kayak back out if you did…
That would be cool!
Great stuff. I always wanted a video about where to fish them.
How do you control your motor guide on front ?? Pedal ?
Pretty soon I'll be pulling the trigger on a Lowrance elite Fs 7. I'm pretty stoked.
Nice

That Whipper Snapper was underrated bigtime!

You are correct. I don't know why I didn't mention that. I have two spools of it in my kit.
Great video bud!
Another awesome video brother 😊👏👏
anyone got a link for that net?
You’re awesome man!
I see you using the pwr129, what’s a better kayak overall the SS127 or the pwr?
Thanks for the heads up on the Loco maybe going away.
You bet

What are you tying for a knot with a jerkbait?
Great instructional video. Are you doing any guiding at Lake Guntersvilles? If so, what time of year is the best? Also, how do I book a trip?

Great tips
Demo, the KREJ, Gene!! Let us know....tks man
I just picked one up a couple of days ago. I'm going to start messing with it tomorrow.
Great video Gene, thanks for the tips 👍
You bet
Great video. I wanna try the jerk bait now. Are you already back from Florida? I guess so it’s valentine time.
I'm back home.
Gene do you ever fish a jerk-bait on spinning gear?
Needed this video. I have zero confidence in a jerkbait but I am forcing myself to bring nothing but jerkbaits until I catch one 😭
Sinclair water is currently somewhere between the color of your PFD and hat. Wish we had jerkbait conditions. 😂
That's pretty much normal for Sinclair this time of year.
"YEAH MAYBE..."😂😂😂😂

The smsll whip snapper is also great bait, live how honest you be about ffs
Still too early for Buffalo but soon enough. Bring your kayak up to WNY. You will do the best smallmouth fishing you've ever done.
That's where I caught my PB Smallmouth.
Luckycraft Pointer
I appreciate the jerk bait tips, but I got distracted by you watching your scope through out the video.
lol
think i forgot how to look at Gene fishing the jerk bait because I was starring at the livescope.
I guess 13 fishing was bought. Does that mean you don't have a sponsor or is Rapala your sponsor now?
Rapala ghosted me.
@@Flukemasterthat’s crazy!!

Jerkbaits are fish catchers , why limit them to good water?
I didn't hear the news about 13 being bought. That's stinks.
I thought is was going to be a great thing but I was wrong.
@@Flukemaster Are you still working with 13/Rapala?
Live scope is not real man fishing, it’s for people with no patience and to much money.
Looks like video fishing . So sorry.
Good grief Randy!!! 😢
