    2/2023: Something different. I've seen ZZ TOP several times in years past. Sounds Live. I've always loved these speakers, no matter what is played through them. I love many of the speakers that you so wonderfully demonstrate to us.

    Definitely have to toe those in for sure. Amazing how directional they are compared to conventional dome tweeters with waveguides. As soon as he starts to walk around them, the sound from the tweeter totally disappears. That said given their indented application you kind of need to keep things focused to allow for high SPLs.

    I love how the amps are hovering around 1.2-2 watts out of 1200. Actually the 4367 is not a speaker that requires 1200w having a 94db/w/m sensitivity. I know it will not work with a flea powered amp, but anything with a solid 50w/ch and a proper powersupply will make them sing 🙂

    They do have that classic 15" paper woofer bass that I remember from my old 15" Optimus' back in the day. That said I still totally want them.

    • @JamesWilliams-gf8gm

      The magnet and driver assembly is very modern though.

    • @jstoli996c4s
      @jstoli996c4s 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Woofers are very similar to ones in the pricey M2 monitors

    • @mysock351C
      @mysock351C 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@jstoli996c4s Its worth noting that the M2 has outboard DSP to go with it. These are passive, and measurements of similar speakers in that line show some resonances. That said, the variation could be something coming from the port/cabinet resonance as well, or maybe an odd room mode.

    • @bayard1332
      @bayard1332 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@mysock351C The acoustics in that room are -far- from perfect, hey, they're far from good... So almost nothing can actually be known from these videos.

    • @mysock351C
      @mysock351C 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@bayard1332 Its certainly possible that much of it is the room, combining with some port resonances to give it that tonality. Although that said, a fair amount can be known since there are a boatload of demos on this channel from said room, but not a comprehensive picture for sure, and the tonality issue could be much more slight in a normal listening setting. There is _something_ there, but its hard to say how much, or how observable it would be in a good listening room. That said, these sound demos will only hint at tonality issues and not how good a speaker really is. With things like the Magico A5s which are about as close as you can hope to get, nothing can be said about the tonality as everything heard is simply from the microphone and room acoustics.
