I quite agree with you. I have an amplifier with 300B in parallels tubes to drive a pair of Klipsch KLF 20 (100 dB) for years I liked. If I have larger sitting room will buy this classic model.
Hahaha. Watching TH-cam videos on the big screen TV and this popped up. Listening to the video in my man room on some La Scalas I bought new 32 years ago when I was 21 for about 1600 bucks for the pair. It was a ton of money for me at the time but I was in a Audio store in Longview, TX and the guy asked I wanted to hear them. A little 40 watt amp hooked to them and it blew me away. I will never let them go. Classic speakers that never get old. Family heirloom now. I can't wait for some kid to ask one of my great grandkids "where you get those rocking speakers from?" Grandkid will say his great grandpa bought them 70 years ago. I will be gone by then but these La Scalas will carry on. Lol.

Listening to this song through them and reading what you wrote brought tears to my eyes. I was seriously considering flipping them on the way over to get them . Not so much since I plugged them in.

I had a pair of LaScalas in the 80's. In the seventies I was invited to Hope Arkansas to do a consultation while the Klipsch BMF theater system was being developed. The Klipsch guys wanted to know if their BMF's could crack the concert sound touring business. I told them the concert sound touring business is built around speaker systems that go in a truck in an efficient manner and most had to be rectangular to use up truck space efficiently. The BMF was not rectangular and except for being used as the PA for the Rainbow Music Hall in Denver, it had little to no impact on the touring sound business. It does have a lion's share of movie theater sound system business. Meeting Paul Klipsch and Bill Moyers was a pleasure. Peter, Paul, and Mary used 4 LaScalas as their PA when they played Radio City Music Hall.
