VLOG: Minimalism Made Easy! How to Be a Minimalist in 2 Steps :)

  • In this video, I share how to apply minimalism to your life in 2 easy steps.
    Simplifying your life can have amazing benefits such as: more time, more clarity, less frustration, less stress, more money, more appreciation for the things you have and love, a clutter-free home, etc.
    Minimalism does not have to be an overly complicated process. It's about letting go of things that no longer serve you in all areas of life until you feel you have the amount of things that you desire. Best of luck with this process!

    After this video, I filled a bag with over 15 items to take to the Op shop tomorrow and I went for a 30 min walk. I always feel overwhelmed when it comes to starting a routine and usually I just don't start anything. Before writing this comment I took out my diary and spent 20 mins writing down 2 things I would like to do everyday for the next 3 wks.Your video reached me ..thank you..Happy New Year :) :)

    Great video Melissa. So many people think that Minimalism is just about getting rid of stuff and creating the perfect indoors environment.

    Those calculations are real eye openers. I am finding it easier to hit my food and water intake seriously if I just become conscious of the decisions I make instead of looking at it as something I feel the need to do. Thank you for sharing!

    Great video. I totally agree with this. So many people get stuck trying to mimic what they see others do and it becomes challenging for them. I love the idea of making small changes.

    This is great information. I try to encourage people using the same method you describe at the end of your video. For instance about making good choices in eating or life in general. If we make a bad choice at breakfast try to make better choices at lunch and dinner. Making small, good choices and decisions do add up. We tend to focus on the negative in our lives. I forget that the photos on social media don't often capture the process.

    Hey Melissa ❤ I just wanted to thank you for inspiring me in 2015. You were my most important source of information about minimalism. Minimalism was a big topic for me last year and has changed my life to the better. I remember watching your first videos and subscribing to your channel when you only had 700 subscribers. I'm so proud of how far you've come. All the love, Lea 💕

    Indeed, it usualy takes more than a couple of days to clutter your house, so it's not fair to expect that you can mimimize to almost zero in just one day. Thanks for the reminder. JS

    Do you have any tips on how to maintain minimal living and order in your life on a daily basis? Or does it come more easily once you've cleared a lot of things out (which I am almost finished doing)? I think what I mean is something like: I like clear surfaces. How do I create habits that help me always to put things back in their places and keep surfaces clear and calming? I have a bad habit of letting everyday stuff start cluttering surfaces. Thanks for this video. I like small, manageable changes.

    I'm gonna share a link to this in a blog post, if that's ok. Let me know if it's not and I'll remove it. This is one of the simplest yet most profound things I've heard in a long time, and relates to any change we are trying to make in our lives. Hope you have a wonderful year in 2016! I've really been inspired by your videos!

    I find the easiest way to stay clutter free is to always remove an item from the house whenever I buy something new. It's become automatic now and I don't have to think about it.

    I really love your videos, and have been watching for the last several months. I have a stupid question.....why don't you set your camera down on something instead of trying to hold it while you talk? Wishing you a very happy new year and look forward to more videos

      +Gail Evans Thanks, Gail! :) I have a table top tripod - that I put on my desk to film in another room which you may have seen in some of my videos... but in my bedroom, I don't have a tripod high enough... I film wherever the sunlight is coming in through the window for lighting :)

    What do you recommend doing with makeup and hair products? I have a lotttt of makeup, some of which I don't use regularly or at all but it is expensive. Do you recommend using it all up or getting rid of it all together?

    • @melissaalexandria01
      @melissaalexandria01  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +taylor acerra Depends on if you actually love it or not. I wouldn't recommend using it up if you really don't like it - you can give it away to family or friends who might like it - I suggest keeping and using up the ones you really love before buying more. Best of luck! x

    I bought a new house while I was on minimalist mode and is kind of regretting cos I know that it would mean increase in expenses. are there any tips on how not to feel this way?

    • @victoriamatter7455
      @victoriamatter7455 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Rent out the house. Or rent out a part you're not using.

    • @caroltoh
      @caroltoh 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      that would help.. but i am staying there with the family and renting is out of question (for now)..

      Well at least it's not just you in the house and you're making use of it. At least if you'd ever like to travel it'd be easier. Like she says, it's a journey. Focus on how much you've already helped yourself and think about what you're going to do next to improve your life or someone else's.
