I may breakdown and get some Innistrad Remastered. Not a fan of Aetherdrift but I am a huge fan of Final Fantasy. I played a lot of the RPGS and Nine was one of my favorites. Thank you for the video Mox Man. Ramble Jamble. I was paying $99.99 for Wilds of Eldaine and Lost Caverns of Ixalan Set Booster boxes. So, new Play Booster box for Aetherdrift is 20% higher with lower odds of getting a good mythic and rare, 14 cards in a pack, plus they got rid of the List cards. But, they still kept those USELESS ART cards which may cost more to print.
Innistrad is one of my favourite sets, and Ive been playing since Alpha. Still playing a competitive Edgar Markov deck in CEDH once in a while. It’s easily my favourite deck. Already paid my shop for two boxes of collectors boosters, and a box of play boosters, and a hold on prerelease if they release one
For an old player like me,chosen singles are my way, dont need more bulk around the house. Sometimes i pay more for singles then a box but its what i want and need,no more shaft
Hasbro are only going to 36 packs to 30 packs to make a cost savings damaging players wallets going forward, thus making MTG more expensive in the process.
@@Stonehorn I get that. All it will ultimately do is create less incentive for new people to play MTG. Other TCGs are not taking packs out the boxes, its a pretty dumb move by Hasbro and WOTC I think, it makes it annoying for LCGs to draft now. You don't need to change something that ain't broken but the way things are going it will get worse each year out.
I wasn't interested in Aetherdrift, until I found out it's split between planes and one of them is Amonkhet, which I love because it's Egyptian themed ^^
Set booster boxes were the trap we all blindly bought into. WotC SET the shrikflation target and created a thirst for collector boosters, that we previously thought were too over priced. Future FDN boxes will have to be 30 packs, otherwise the entry level price point for beginners will be higher than other play boxes. Remastered sets could remain at 36 packs, WotC citing 2025 demand for INR & older FDN boxes against DFT etc as a demand for a premium draft set. - When in non gaslit reality WotC will be watching all older box sets on the secondary market to plot the next cash grab. #Boomstick
Will I keep buying into this dastardly WotC plot? Most likely yes, but I won't be rushing into it, as all the previous Remastered sets can still be picked up for less than the INR pre-order price, for now. The real question is; Did MiniMoxMan get his phone for Christmas? #BOOMSTICK
All remastered sets are such a slap in the face to players... "These cards already exist and are not even worth that much money, so let's reprint every single one of them!"
Out of the 8 players I’m good enough friends with that I’m privy to what they buy MtG-wise, *one* buys Sealed product beyond the occasional EDH Precon, and that one received a 2.3 million dollar payout when his ex-boss’s idiocy got his legs broken. WotC is IMHO doing nothing to encourage regular players to buy Sealed product. How is an 85$ Edgar Reprint a draw, when the odds say you’ll need to crack a *minimum* of 2 boxes to find one? Who needs another couple pounds of bulk to acquire a 100$ of cards for 270$?
Boomstick! I’m really looking forward to buying at least one box of Innistrad Remastered. It’s a win for me no matter what I pull. I started playing Magic during the release of Kamigawa Neon Dynasty. My first precon was Vampiric Bloodline. It’s been heavily modified and is in my top three salty decks 😂
I will proxy :P I can't justify to play 100$ for a piece a cardboard and ink anymore. Since i juste play commander now, i do not care about my collection value. Might only buy few collector pack for the kick of it and that's it.
I basically only want Markov. Aetherdrift seems like butt. But my hype is basically only in the Spiderman Universe atm. Hope Venom and Carnage gets printed. Would be sick af.
Why are we comparing Aetherdrift prices to release prices from before they raised prices? When I'm comparing price PER PACK on pre-orders, Aetherdrift has gone slightly down from Bloomburrow and Duskmourn on Amazon, at the stores I shop with "real" prices it's up like 20-30 cents PER PACK, which could just be places taking into account almost equivalent shipping costs on a box of 30 to a box of 36, but they're making less money on it. These "real" prices are heavily discounted from MSRP so that doesn't mean WotC is charging us more for less with Aetherdrift, just that stores can't discount as heavily with profit vs. shipping costs. INR draft is still up in the air with until we see spoilers, I still think they're going to reveal some big cards people aren't expecting but I haven't ordered any. I'm trusting the taco truck guy and picked up some CB's, the Amazon price is too high but I ordered before places sold out at the lower prices.
Really wanted to preorder a box, the collectors but - man - what the hell are those prices? Better just buying a Liliana and Markov as singles and let it be. Watching booster opening videos, it is pretty clear sealed products are for the thrill of opening them, not for collecting the cards. Even in the rare cases the consumer ends on PLUS on ONE booster or box, on the long run this is rarely the case. More, being on PLUS with cards with value of 1 usd, 30 cents... How the hell are one suppose to sell this bulk without being a store owner or something like it? In the end, opening boxes with these price tags are for streamers, speculators and store owners. I try to keep with MTG, but it's economy keeps pushing me away from it, and it does with thousands of other enthusiasts. Hence my desire for massive reprints.
To be fair this set will probably sell well as long as they learned there leason from dominaria remastered, which was a great set but the printed the hell out of it and crashed the price. And let's not for get ravnica remaster was a flop that only now is recovering
I just don’t think the collectors are out there, anymore. Not that wouldn’t prefer the originals. MtG’s incoming enfranchised player metrics are on the decline. The Professor did a great video about the subject on Tolarian Academy that they also talked about on Dies to Removal. WotC’s inching towards the cliff. Just look at how spongy the clime-back of expensive reprints has been of late. An 85$ Edgar reprint isn’t much of a draw on a 110$ original Edgar, when savvy players know the odds are they’re going to have to crack a minimum of 2 boxes to find one of those Edgars. WotC is doing nothing to encourage regular players to buy Sealed.
i bet more people play arena and stop playing mtg in person for us poor people trying to play standard has priced most of us out years ago and now its less product so its just worse feeling.
Sounds like what people said about Foundations before it came out. Making a decision on what something sounds like before you have enough information on it is silly.
@chim007azo I was excited for foundations. I know what a remastered set is and I don't care for this set. I'm sure aetherdrift will have good cards, I'm just not a vehicle person.
The only thing "Adrift" is the prices of sealed product upon release. In roughly 5 years prices have gone from $100 a set booster box to $165? No thanks.... That price increase is stupid and not worth it. I haven't bought a box since LoTRs and won't. If WotC wants to create singles buyers... they are doing a great job of it because I won't be one of the fools buying sealed product at these prices. It's CARDBOARD and a Game.... no fomo as I will take that extra $65 dollars they are trying to steal from me and invest that in the stock market and make a TRUE investment.
"Honey, dishes have to wait, new MOX MAN episode dropped!"
I don’t even try magic as the stock market but this guy is cool to listen to

I think edgar will be even harder than that.
The last box of cards I purchased was the last Phyrexia set. Don’t even remember what it was called. Don’t care. I ain’t buying.
I'll just wait to buy any booster boxes til they adjust the pack total to meet the price, I have the reserve list to finish collecting first anyways.
