i have been so excited to unbox this! i haven't owned a kindle before, but because i've been reading more books lately, i didn't want to buy more physical books where i didn't have room for them. i also feel that a kindle would help my eyes at night when i'm reading in bed too!

Getting a Kobo definitely made me read so much more. I went from 1-2 books a year to 30-40 books. I hope you read more books too! As for a recommendation: Satellite Love by Genki Ferguson. It's a magical realist/sci-fi book. Quite melancholic but beautiful.

This makes me want to buy a kindle too! I was debating between a kindle or a kobo... but now I want a kindle... :3 thanks for the new upload! this is the best part of my week ღ
Psst, get a Kobo. Kindles show ads. You have to pay extra to get an ad-free Kindle. Kobos just don't have ads period. Also, Kobo accepts more file types, whereas Kindles need you to convert your files to their Amazon-specific file type before importing them which is an extra step. 👀
@@DDRandDSLover kindles are better. Canadian kindles don't come with ads period but Amazon will remove them if you call usually anyways...
@@DDRandDSLover I have issues with the Kobo I had which totally put me off it.
1. I couldn't begin to love the interface. It seems outdated for my taste.
2. Had a problem with ebooks formats when imported to the device. Some words shown as symbols (could be unreadble to the device)
3. I always had to side load my own books from a computer. Sure I didn't have to convert but it was so complicated just to load books from phone to ereader. Such a deal breaker. Kindle on the other hand, you only need to convert then email it directly to your specific device address and it will automatically load.
ahhhh i went with kindle because i have kindle unlimited, so it just seemed like the natural choice! (*˘︶˘*).｡.:*♡ my friend went with kobo to read on more file types
been planning on getting one for the longest time! a bit bummed that it only comes in black though. i would have liked it better in sage! also, you should definitely read “The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo”, it’s phenomenal
oh my gosh, i feel the same way! i would've loved the kindle in white or sage! i almost caved and got the 2018 version of the kindle just for the white colour, but i couldn't justify the micro usb over usb c cable (─‿‿─) let me know which kindle you end up getting!

I’ve been watching as many of these videos because I’m beyond excited to receive mine!!
My last kindle was the one with the “now with a built in front light” can’t remember the generation it was but the battery was so bad on it, so I stopped using it. I ended up not reading for over a year! It’s been about 2 month now that I’ve finally got back into reading and while I was searching through my Amazon I noticed the books I badly want to read are free on kindle🙌🏼🙌🏼
so yeah, went straight looking for a kindle and purchased😂😂😂

Been reading ebook using my phone since college. Liluckily I still have good eyesight.
firstly, what a gorgeous desk set up you have! I especially love your place mat, super adorable.
secondly, I read probably only 1 book last year during my summer break. I decided this year that I wanted to read more, alongside my university work, to get back to my hobbies that I used to have prior. a little under a month ago, I decided to buy the same kindle paperwhite! and I've already read 4 books in under a month. it's super crazy how it can be so easy.
thirdly, I love the way you decorated your kindle!
lastly, one question for you: did the screen protector take away from the original feel of the screen (if you can remember?) and, did the screen protector add glare in certain lights? ❤

i totally feel you on that. i barely read anything last year, but since having this kindle, i've already powered through a few books- which really surprised me!
the kindle is SO nice to have and i'm so happy you got back into reading as well :)
the screen protector feels the same! it's nice that i have a peace of mind in case i accidentally scratch or drop it, and it is matte- so it doesn't have any glare!

it is definitely heavy for my hands! i actually just got the kindle basic for this exact reason ;-; it's so small and comfy to hold

Do you have any problem reading under the sunlight because of the screen protector? I heard it gets difficult to read under the sunlight.
it hasn't been too bad! the screen protector really doesn't change much of the screen so it hasn't affected me as much!
You should read The Seven Sisters series by Lucinda Riley. A lot of historically accurate bits in each of the books, and all very addictive - couldn't put them down. Let me know if you decide to read them!

ah cause they were on a sticker sheet! they weren't individually cut stickers so i didn't want the hassle of cutting them myself :)
