i've used a magnetic case with my kindle for over two years and the battery lasts for weeks without a recharge. i don't think the magnetic case has any type of impact on the performance at all.
I love my Kindle! It doesn't hurt my eyes to read on that screen for hours.

The Kindle Paperwhite is the best tablet for reading. I love my Kindle Paperwhite.

I have a kindle 7th gen that works perfectly fine, however idk if I should just get a new reading light (I broke mine :s) or splurge in a paperwhite.
