Reminds me of all the ice houses on Mille Lacs lake, something like 5000. Every spring there were stories about how many weren’t removed in time. We thought nothing about sitting out there for ours fishing. My Grandpa used to go spear fishing, what a guy he was!

Is that a serious question? If that is the case then yes, the ice is on top of the water but there is no pressure to force the water up.

The water does come up in the hole you drill... ice has a lower density than water so it naturally floats on the surface. Same way your ice cubes float in your drink.

Rebel Riders Motorcycles : I agree. There’s a certain knowing yet ridiculous innocence/ wimsy to these guys. Letterkenney has a sweetness about it too but it’s a bit too monotonous with its characters and dialogue, too bro culture, and seemingly always tries to be too smart, I dunno - a little goes a long way. But these guys for some reason, I can never get enough of. Keep er movin, Charlie, Myles and Ryan (and Ryan the T-shirt guy too!) 😁 - oh yeah - and “Dude Dad” too! 🙂

you should come up during the summer if you wanna see the nice bits. tons of great camping spots up here, lots of lakes and the Ice Age Trail is never too far away. Personally i think the winter gets boring real quick here.

Floridian here.. I want to go ice fishing so bad! We go off-shore fishing down here, in the Gulf of Mexico, and have a great time catching grouper, snapper, mahi, and tuna. I'm thinking if I go ice fishing, I will tie a rope around my waist, and tie the other end to a tree, or truck bumper, in case the ice breaks, and I fall in. I've eaten Walleye before, and it was real good. Hopefully I can catch my first walleye!!
Doesn’t matter if you have a rope if anything that’s worse because if you get pushed toward the thing your rope is tied to and get stuck under the ice it’s over
If the truck falls in you are in big trouble.

So Wisconsin! My three brothers-in-law live in Antigo and Wausa. Pretty sure their ice shanty has been on a lake for a couple months now.
Had to give up da ice fishin on Marsh-miller Lake cause of all the house thieves. Would build a nice shack every winter then i goes to come back the next season and someone stole it. Nothing safe out there i tell yas.
