    The Axis continues to amaze me each time I see it in action. Thanks for explaining why you were tossing the wood in the trailer. I see that some of the commentates continue to disagree with your small splits and some extra handling, BUT keep doing what you are doing, it's working!!

I just realized that obviously I passed by the Japa factory not too far. But I gues they wouldn't have given a spontanious factory tour to me, not being a glamorous TH-cam celebrity...😅
    Great content by the way, makes me wanna go out, making some firewood myself.

    Hi Joe - it's Big Rodders in Ireland. Great video. It ain't too hot over here so perhaps you could move your operation to the Emerald Isle for the summer months!! Your operation is a beefed up version of my setup, which has worked well for me for over 20 years. My target is to have the blade always moving and I note you have the same approach. I worked in time and motion projects in my early years so I am always trying to fine tune my activities and maximise production for minimum effort. Thumbs up to Emily, your Chief Videographer, for her great presentation.

  • @robertwazniak9495

    Joe… I was watching the background in your video…. have you thought about stacking around the perimeter of the yard? I don’t know if you have enough room there off the ends of your existing stacks to still circulate but that would still give you side loading capabilities with one pallet stacks paralleling the wall. Lots of linear feet of stack potential there.

    I just seen something on another TH-cam firewood page. His japa has the safety bypassed and still works when you lift the hood and his box wedge has a auto cycle. Anyway when he has cut rounds that will fit the box wedge he loades up his tractor bucket at the end of a roller table( those rollers you see unloading trucks) thats up against the japa and rolls in the rounds and keeps it fed. I'm sure you could do same thing set up at the end of the feed table on the japa.

    • @ohiowoodburner
      @ohiowoodburner  ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm no prude but I would NEVER disable the hood on the Japa. That pusher comes out fast. Too much can go wrong

      you have it backwards Mike. The more firewood is touched the more valuable it becomes.

    • @BigTader
      @BigTader ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ohiowoodburner Joe I'll have to agree to disagree with you because I worked in a industry and we did several studies on how to make our products more profitable and we removed 2 steps and done them in the first stage of the process and increased profits. I know by watching your channel that you like to split your fire wood smaller but I believe that with the right splitting wedge your profits could increase. There is a way to make value added fire wood without handling the rounds multiple times. And it would take some work off of you. I enjoy watching your channel.

    • @HubertofLiege
      @HubertofLiege 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The quality of the wood out of this is higher than a processor, and you can take lower value logs and increase their value by splitting this way. Processors have their place with consistent log size, but this turns low quality rounds into higher value wood by adding labor.
