Ed! Take more pictures of yer mini(non-cooper! Lol!) than you can possibly imagine! Be that "dumb" dad thats always snappin pics! It's amazing what you remember happened, but wish you could better recall. Pictures help, a lot! It sounds stupid, but just keep it in the back of yer mind.
The mid 90's to very early 2000's were my jam! Lol! Those 3rd gen cars driven by our parents, a 2001 specifically by my mom. And weirdly enough they always let us take our dates to the movies, or to "the skatepark" which was Portland International Raceway here in OR! Lol! My dad even made a comment about how he would expect the rear tires to be 'secretly' worn way more than the fronts from me doing bleach burnouts, but when the entire set had to be replaced at 10K miles... He bitched the BMW dealer out for using shitty tires! Ah, hahaha!

The 7 series is also carrying precious cargo as well with Justin and his family! What a first car to be driven around in! Love to hear the car stories of people, I have so many fond memories with my dad in cars and extended family as well!
