Not me, since i play quest hunter, most of my minions are 1/1 tokens that can just hit face without having to worry about the deathrattles also you guys just have tech in some spell breakers or iron beak owls to completely collapse their combo.

They talking about other classes having to run ironbeaks/spellbreakers to break this combo; at the cost of it being 100% dead vs shaman and likely losing them the game if drawn.
It's pretty incredible how Rogue always finds a way to abuse a card or mechanic to create decks that completely suffocates other archetypes. This type of high-roll stuff is really frustrating to deal with. Also, if Boar is part of a deck that's not a combo meme then you know something is totally wrong.

Like shaman's fully upgraded Galakrond isn't even a thing you have to "figure out," you literally just play the card one time and should immediately see that something is off about the numbers. I guess if people keep giving them money it doesn't really matter either way, no reason to work hard on a quality product when the average customer can't seem to tell the difference.
It was pretty obvious Necrium Apothecary is completely insane. Even if you just use them with the mech that summons the dragon it's still probably the best card in the set, and the anubisath version is better.
@firebat secret hint: put a 1of raiding party in this deck, so you can draw into deckhands and flybooters and if you need the weapon you can even combo it. makes this deck more consistent
Apothecary is one of the most overpowered cards ever printed. They should nerf it to a 4 mana 3/5 with the same battlecry, would be an outstanding move from blizzard
It's obviously the 4-drop that lets you cheat out any deathrattle in the game. In wild they don't even use warbringer, they just summon a 12/12 deathwing on turn four to eat the opponent immediately.
Is it just me, or did nerfing Mogu Fleshshaper in Shaman to 9 mana only make it better? Idk about you guys, but that shit seems to drop JUST as fast, and if I'm not mistaken, 10-drops are a LIIIIIIIIITLE better than 8-drops. Any thoughts?
Chance to draw one of them until turn 4, even going first which is worst case scenario, you still fish for it in first 7 cards + you mulligan for it so first 3 cards thrown away are 10/30 cards, so you have in the worst case scenario more or less 33% chance to draw each copy on curve. And in best case scenario going 2nd you throw away 4 cards, get 4 new cards, draw another 4 before reaching 4 mana = 12/30 cards, even better odds. The odds change a little because you can draw the cards you've thrown away in mulligan, but you get the picture. It's pretty freaking likely for Rogue to have at least 1 copy of Apothecary in hand by turn 4. :/
Add to that that 'lowroll' could be easily like Ankha + Anubiseth like one of those games. Still not sure if I find that or Deathwing deathrattle more oppresive, tho the second one is in wild tho i think, so that's actually fine
If Plague of Death was an 8 drop instead of 9, Priest might actually be viable. Instead you very often die with it in hand against a full board to decks exactly like this.
I played this deck for 12 games today and only drew the apothecary in 2 of my games, once on turn 12 the turn before I died and once on turn 3 after getting both warbringers on my mulligan.
Seems like the only way they remove power from this card is by introducing inconsistency, which is really bad, but I can't think of how they reduce the power level of it through any other means. And by introducing inconsistency, you could have it *'Combo: Draw a minion from your deck, if it has Deathrattle, gain its Deathrattle.'*

I've been doing pretty good vs rogue with malygos handlock actually. They have a hard time with Giant turn 4 into drake. With rogue flooding the ladder, I've climbed 3 ranks today. I don't have Geoffrey, I use a hellfire. I don't have the dragon for warlock, I use evasive wyrm . I don't have frizz, I use the Cobalt dragon for the 1 Mana spells, sometimes I get more reach and it synergizes well with the rest of the deck. It still works fine
What does a malygos warlock look like? Is there some way to reduce costs so that you can play multiple spells with Maly, or do you just try to exhaust them before dropping maly?
@@daweisguy454 They run highlander, but 2 copies of netherbreath. The deck gets you low through Handlock means, then finishes with netherbreath and soulfire. Netherbreath has lifesteal so its insane with spell dmg.
This deck is basically getting the quest rogue treatment where the deck doesn't really have a top tier winrate like other oppressive decks (65%+) but due to people finding it unfair when it does work they don't like it. I've tried this and it has a pretty balanced winrate due to the fact that when you don't roll into it on turn 4-5 you basically can be dead to face hunters, warriors and all the other aggro classes possible.
and that's good. A deck feeling horrible to play against (especially when the vast majority of the player base agrees that's the case) is every bit as viable a reason to nerf it as pure power level considerations.
Problem with these kinds of decks is it's essentially flipping a coin. Where's the decision making/gameplay if games boil down to "Drew apothecary, no anubi = win" or "drew anubi, no apothecary = lose"?

we decided to nerf warbringer to only buff +1/+1 and increase it mana cost to 25. this will ensure the combo came late. also anka will turn the mana cost of deathrattle minions to 10 mana with 1/1 body. apocary? its fine
They just have to make apothecary only pull deathrattle minions that cost (5) or less... at least off the top of my head, I can't think of a cheap card that is a problem with it. It'll still be strong, but not gamebreaking
@@sunnyhvar1992 There are a few solutions. Increase the cost of the Apothecary (5mana) probably breaks it, as its pretty slow at that point and aggro decks are probably able to burn you down. The card could also, not draw the the DR. Making Anka pretty bad, decrease the multiple deathrattle effect, of getting 1/1 DRs. Or you nerf Warbringer, like reducing the buff, or changing it to only buff a single minion, making the target unreliable.
the only real way to compare this new rouge deck to is turn 2 keleseth with a shadow step or two its very highroll and will fall apart with one or two bad draws
I mean, let's say hypothetically they had nerfed this deck instead and left Galakrond Shaman untouched - then Shammy would just be oppressing the meta instead of this
The invoke twice card was busted and Galok is still an insta win card. They were beating aggro consistently. It was really in need of balance. Rogue got a busted deck too, but Blizz can't seem to balance this class :p
1 word : silence seriously tho, rogues winrates started dropping so they didnt nerf apothecary and ppl are growing braincells and putting counters such as silences, hex, polimorph, etc wich are hard counters.
I put a banker in mine, since if you draw one or both of the anubisath before the necruim, after you anka you can drop the 1 mana deathrattle, banker, then necrium for 7 total mana
With this deck at 7 mana, you want to kill your opponent, not play 2 mana 2/2. Also, if you played Anka and 1 mana Anubisath, you're already doing pretty good, this 2 mana 2/2 could be another charger.

Copying a deathrattle on a 4 drop is weird to me. That card is so insanely busted. There are many high cost deathrattles to be abused. Just the 9-drop used here is enough to base a deck on.

Running four silences in your deck just to deal with this one deck is ridiculous, and reduces your winrate against other decks. And, if you never draw them, nothing changes. Saying "people will just run silence" gives no respect to how busted this deck is. This is easily top 5 decks this game has EVER seen, period.

But anubisat the 4 droop and anka in the same hand is a massive high roll and even if they proc only one anubisat thats just a +3+3 on 1/1 minnions so it doesn’t even change much. The deck might be tr3 or mid t2 when they start running silence

It'd slightly increase your winrate vs this (they can play the deathrattle and necrium blade it so you don't get a chance to interact, so it's not even THAT good) at the cost of losing to shaman/hunter way more. Not worth.
im already sad about the rogue nerf because the 2/5 could have been neat if anubisath/charge wasnt a thing. waxadred rogue is dead before it ever had a chance.
well, the solution to that would be to nerf the anubisath rather than the apothecary. no one ever played that card before anyway, so it's not like it'll be missed

People, please start running at least silence. If this deck is flooding the meta and you face it all the time, change your deck accordingly. You might still demand a nerf, but this is precisely why tech cards exist and why you can be rewarded for running them. This card is not like keleseth; it is not draw and win. If you draw keleseth, you get its benefit regardless, if you draw hypothecary, you have to hope your opponent doesn't erase its potential. Right now it is draw-it-win-it because no one seems to tech against it yet
if people start running silence, people playing this deck can just delay their apothecary turn until they can destroy a necrium blade on the same turn as they play it. and if you want people to tech in both silences and oozes just to deal with this one deck, lemme just say lmao. this deck murders slow decks anyway, so what you'd be suggesting is for aggro decks, the only decks that can reasonably beat this, to ruin their card quality with shitty tech cards, simply to counter a single matchup
@@etherealg3940 'just delay' is a huge deal. The main strength of the deck is to drop it on turn 4 or turn 3 with coin. Delaying it also makes it more likely they draw one of the 9-drops. Moreover, they can start to feel forced to delay because you might run silence. Right now, they don't have to play around it at all, because people don't tech. I am not saying the card is not a problem and should not be adressed; but as long as people ignore it when they build a deck and scream blood and murder because they choose not to counter it at all, I am upset. If people start countering it, and as you say 'just delaying' is in fact still viable (backed up by actuall data), THEN you have a stronger case to demand actions by blizzard. If a single matchup is one of the only matchup you face, you should definitely try to tech against it. Deckbuilding is more then just putting together the 30 individual strong cards and call it a day.
Plague of murlocs the apothecary before they get it off on 6. The game proceeds as normal, they drop blade on 8, anubisath on 9, nother necrium on 10 pop it, my deck explodes to faceless corruptors I can't push through. Running silences is not enough. YOu have to hope to kill them before they get off even one buff and very likely drop one of the 3 heals in their deck that put them out of range if you're burn.
@@painfulelegy812 I feel a bigger issue then is faceless corruptor. Anubisath has never been an issue before. The combination anubisath + necrium blade has already existed before DoD. Also, the game 'proceeding as normal' is a odd, the rogue deck should be pretty weak if it does not manages a early game buff. Can I ask you what your win-condition is?
and when i play i never draw the apothecary so i have to sit with full hand because i cant play nearly anything otherwise i miss the buffs when i draw the apot so it means im dead but when firebat plays he draws so well because of that ppl complain about how op the deck is.

Been running 2x Earth Shock in all Shaman decks since launch to counter Twilight Drake, now I've just adapted my other decks to run 2x Silence too.

This is just honestly the most stats they have ever made for 5 mana. I like how they're 4/4 now. The expansion is in theme of high tempo 8/8s.

Its been calc'd; 60ish% going first, 70ish% going second. They are extremely likely to have it early.

Yeah just nerf the Mana cost. If they get it way later, then other decks have time to catch up. If you put it to 7 it's safe

Copying a deathrattle on a 4 drop is weird to me. That card is so insanely busted. There are many high cost deathrattles to be abused. Just the 9-drop used here is enough to base a deck on.

@@gloshow4890 "questions are always better than answers." They still draw the original anubisath, they still have the potential to combo with necrium blade (not silenceable) they still have anka. Running four silences in your deck just to deal with this one deck is ridiculous, and reduces your winrate against other decks. And, if you never draw them, nothing changes.
Saying "people will just run silence" gives no respect to how busted this deck is. This is easily top 5 decks this game has EVER seen, period.
Sean Jones okay? But you fail to realize only 1 silence absolutely kills their tempo and they basically lose. But anubisat the 4 droop and anka in the same hand is a massive high roll and even if they proc only one anubisat thats just a +3+3 on 1/1 minnions so it doesn’t even change much.
The deck might be tr3 or mid t2 when they start running silence
@@gloshow4890 I'd normally agree, but drawing ironbeak/spellbreaker vs hunter/shaman literally kills you. I think the meta is too scary to tech them in. It'd slightly increase your winrate vs this (they can play the deathrattle and necrium blade it so you don't get a chance to interact, so it's not even THAT good) at the cost of losing to shaman/hunter way more. Not worth.

im already sad about the rogue nerf because the 2/5 could have been neat if anubisath/charge wasnt a thing. waxadred rogue is dead before it ever had a chance.
well, the solution to that would be to nerf the anubisath rather than the apothecary. no one ever played that card before anyway, so it's not like it'll be missed

Stefan Huber Some of the best players, like JAlexander think that the version of the deck with mechanical whelps is even better than this one. Apothecary will be OP as long as there are good deathrattle. It needs the nerf.

People, please start running at least silence. If this deck is flooding the meta and you face it all the time, change your deck accordingly.
You might still demand a nerf, but this is precisely why tech cards exist and why you can be rewarded for running them. This card is not like keleseth; it is not draw and win. If you draw keleseth, you get its benefit regardless, if you draw hypothecary, you have to hope your opponent doesn't erase its potential. Right now it is draw-it-win-it because no one seems to tech against it yet
if people start running silence, people playing this deck can just delay their apothecary turn until they can destroy a necrium blade on the same turn as they play it. and if you want people to tech in both silences and oozes just to deal with this one deck, lemme just say lmao. this deck murders slow decks anyway, so what you'd be suggesting is for aggro decks, the only decks that can reasonably beat this, to ruin their card quality with shitty tech cards, simply to counter a single matchup
@@etherealg3940 'just delay' is a huge deal. The main strength of the deck is to drop it on turn 4 or turn 3 with coin. Delaying it also makes it more likely they draw one of the 9-drops. Moreover, they can start to feel forced to delay because you might run silence. Right now, they don't have to play around it at all, because people don't tech.
I am not saying the card is not a problem and should not be adressed; but as long as people ignore it when they build a deck and scream blood and murder because they choose not to counter it at all, I am upset. If people start countering it, and as you say 'just delaying' is in fact still viable (backed up by actuall data), THEN you have a stronger case to demand actions by blizzard.
If a single matchup is one of the only matchup you face, you should definitely try to tech against it. Deckbuilding is more then just putting together the 30 individual strong cards and call it a day.
Plague of murlocs the apothecary before they get it off on 6. The game proceeds as normal, they drop blade on 8, anubisath on 9, nother necrium on 10 pop it, my deck explodes to faceless corruptors I can't push through.
Running silences is not enough. YOu have to hope to kill them before they get off even one buff and very likely drop one of the 3 heals in their deck that put them out of range if you're burn.
@@painfulelegy812 I feel a bigger issue then is faceless corruptor. Anubisath has never been an issue before. The combination anubisath + necrium blade has already existed before DoD. Also, the game 'proceeding as normal' is a odd, the rogue deck should be pretty weak if it does not manages a early game buff. Can I ask you what your win-condition is?

and when i play i never draw the apothecary so i have to sit with full hand because i cant play nearly anything otherwise i miss the buffs when i draw the apot so it means im dead but when firebat plays he draws so well because of that ppl complain about how op the deck is.
Why not just nerf anubis? Make it a battlecry
