It all depends on if you are away often or you are at home often. If you are away from your home often, I believe you should invest in the added security.. I hope that answers your question..
Hi @patricksweeney73 I agree. I tend to spend a lot on all the added technology for this reason and also because when reselling a luxury home it often comes into question with buyers. People are just expecting more technology when buying homes priced over the $2.5 millions.
Hi @fatrace I think this is a very personal decision. I am very picky and like my home to be very clean and with children that takes a lot more hours per week than if 2 adults who work all day live in the home. But I can say that most of my friends who are professionals and live in these mega sized homes, with or without children living at home, have their housekeepers come 3-4 days per week. Also, in order to keep a housekeeper loyal to you it is very standard to have to hire them as a full time employee.
@@LisaLopezLuxuryRealEstate $45 a hour times 8 = $360 dollars. 4 days a week that’s $1,440 dollars. Monthly cost for this service could easily reach $5,760 dollars. Add that by calendar year, that’s $69,120 dollars a year. A typical mortgage on a $5 million dollar house, is about $40,000 a month. That’s about $480,000 per calendar year. Add on additional cost-of-living , lifestyle upkeep throughout the year, that’s about $200,000 dollars. If the math is right, this lifestyle will cost, $849,000 a year. I added a $100,000 for savings and personal stock investments. My question is who can afford to live like this? -- A common rule of thumb is that housing costs should be no more than 30% of your gross monthly income. You gotta make at least $949,000 a year to live comfortably without living beyond your means. Typically for this lifestyle. Would you agree?
Basic system I call more technology the inconvenience of convenience. Always system upgrades, password changes, not to mention hacks. Tiered of technology running my life, and my frig telling me I need milk when I’ve given up dairy 😅
I agree! The one thing that drives me crazy is that I have to call my IT guy to set up a new Apple TV or to reboot my system every time it goes down! Although I do like the fact that my clothes washer communicates with Alexa to tell me my load is done! 🤔😂
Hi @gabrielfrost3640 That seems to be the popular opinion. Spend more if you’re away a lot but less if you tend to be home more. Thank you for watching and for your comment!

Great video! Love seeing this breakdown for luxury homes.
Thanks @theleomendez Glad you found this video informative!
I think it’s about how much you value your home and your lifestyle. If you’re buying a luxury home, live it up. Live it up, it’s just money.
@fatrace haha! I totally agree! Plus it helps the economy! 🤷🏻♀️😂

Hi @tlwebdesign1 Thanks so much for watching. I’m glad you found the information helpful!
I’m playing with numbers. How many days should a housekeeper visit and clean a luxury home? Once a week or two times a week?
