I don't disagree about where the levels are currently, but I have a feeling once the specials start airing the RTD2 hype train will be unleashed and in full effect.
Yeah, as much as I’m iffy with the RTD era in general, he did lay the groundwork for the current era of Who, so if anything, I feel like RTD will bring a new life into the series. I hope he does more experimental episodes like midnight in series 14
HYPE HYPE HYPE
Being GLBT myself I am going to go ahead and admit that I am not looking forward to "Ncuti Gawa" and his transgender companion. I may be GLBT however, my life and main focus does not revolve and center around the GLBT Community and Diversity (Identity Politics). Especially when it comes to entertainment.
I am only interested in having a good cast and an interesting storyline. I could care less about the gender orientation or gender identity or the color of someone's skin or their gender when it comes to politics and Television Entertainment.
Even I as a (GLBT Person) am sick and tired of having diversity shoved down my throat these days which is why I have pretty much stopped watching newer Television Shows period.
@@GeorgeCarlinWasAGod I’d trust RTD more to handle something like that over other writers
I think people are very naive in expecting Russell to put together a WHOLE YEAR of constant celebration right after he’s taken over the show proper. We’ve had so much publicity, the craze for the trailers and the hints building up to trailers was insane.
People forget what we’ve had, don’t handle their expectations, and are only really acknowledging the car crash that is Dooms Day
There’s a whole list of bad episodes lol. But in all fairness, he laid the groundwork, and when he’s good, he’s really good, so if anyone could make DW popular again, I’m willing to give him a chance.
Completely agree, after the train-wreck that was Chib's era, we couldn't have hoped for more in terms of publicity when it comes to RTD taking over as showrunner, someone with a proven track record of sometimes cheesy but also A LOT of great episodes as opposed to the snooze-fest and consistently bad or boring episodes from Chib.
I definitely think they should’ve done more this year to keep people excited. But I have a feeling that once the specials air and we get to Christmas and Series 14… there’s gonna be a lot more consistent hype because we’ll actually have episodes to discuss!
I think some people are never happy and will always find something to complain about. So looking forward to seeing DT and Donna again and to Russell's great writing. Dr Who hasn't been good for so long and I haven't felt this excited about the show since RTD left tbh.
RTD is a good writer, but he has written some really bad eps. But when he’s good, he’s really good, which is why I’m hopeful that if anyone can correct everything, it would be RTD. Moffat was good, but he should’ve left when he originally wanted to. As much as I like Capaldi, he was given bad writing. And Clara was annoying in series 9,especially in hell bent and the whole hybrid crap. Tennant might not be my favorite Doctor, but I love Catherine Tate and Donna Noble, so I’m glad she’s coming back, and it will be sad knowing this is Bernard Cribbins’s last role
As we get nearer to the date of the specials I’m sure the hype will heighten.
Hopefully no more announcements such as actors/enemies returning or the tardis interior. They need to be kept a surprise though.
I reckon it’ll be a cracking Doctor Who autumn/winter. The three 60th specials, Ncuti’s Christmas ep and some new merch surrounding it.
So keen
Im just tired of waiting, so I totally forgot 😂. My hype will be back when the show comes back.
I'm currently really hyped for the specials and the new series but that excitement stems solely from seeing Ncuti in Barbie and David in Good Omens 2 😅
Knowing the amount of secrecy there is around the specials, especially with Russell saying he’d prefer people to go into Wild Blue Yonder totally blind, I’d say what we’ve got so far has been pretty much enough for the time being. I’d like it if we got a full length final trailer before November confirming the actual air dates of them (which I’m pretty confident is going to happen) but this whole approach so far of keeping most of them a complete surprise has got me way more excited than it would if it was the other way round
Knowing the BBC it be just before the relase so like a month (still a few weeks) or 3 to 2 weeks.
I neeeeeed to know the dates so that I can prepare!
@@CrispyProThat's what I thought too, but knowing them it'll be literally last minutes which I think is something they don't get that we like to make plans in advance not last minutes as some of us have either school or a part time job or something else, but I would bet on three Friday or three Saturday. It will be airing in the U.K so it can't be released on the same day.
@@CrispyPro Me too bro, I’m pretty much itching for them at this point 😂😅
I think people forget that until around October 2013, there was hardly any marketing for the 50th. We had the odd news now and again as well as series 7 but that was it. It wasn’t until the #SavetheDay trailer that things REALLY kicked into gear. And fans did kick up a fuss (myself included to my shame…). I suspect history will repeat itself this year.
For whatever it's worth, the marketing around the 60th so far managed to pull me back in and get me to rewatch the whole show in preparation. I'd stopped watching after Jodie's first season. Like, a friend posted the headline "yasmin finney has been cast as Rose" with no elaboration and i was like i NEED to know whats happening over there
Honestly, I think they're building up hype by by teasing storylines but not really telling us anything until the last moment. Like when John hurt was announced for the 50th. We knew he was gonna be in it, but didnt know he was the doctor until the end of series 7. I also think that we will have a different doctor in each episode, starting with david, then with matt, then have every doctor cameo throughout the 3rd special before Ncutis intro.
I mean, Big Finish are doing the exact same thing with Once and Future.
I really hope its not just a celebration of new who, since its the 60th I would love to see more of the classics especialy companions like Jo and maybe even romana.
I've been working on building up my classic who DVD collection (3rd doctor is my fav of all time) and I'm really close to finishing it so I've been watching a lot of doctor who everyday so I've had a load of doctor who for this year but without the classic who for me I can see why its quite slow for most people but I do believe it will pick up!
That's awesome!
How quickly did that Sonic screwdriver sell out? There's hype
I think trying to maintain hype throughout an entire year is probably a bit futile and excessive, especially when said celebration is occurring right at the end of the year with nothing properly airing in the meantime. I think we know enough to go on so far, we've had multiple trailers, casting announcements, costume reveals etc. I'm sure they will start marketing more when we get closer, but I'm still pleased with what we've had so far.
Also a 60th anniversary is much smaller than a 50th, PLUS we've just had the Centenary special which was a celebration of the show as a whole, so there's probably no need to re-tread that ground so soon.
I'll be forever be grateful that I will get to have Donna Noble back on my screen!!! Never thought I would get it see it! So I have no complaints I just wish November would get here faster!!
Okay @crispypro I’ve got it figured out….
The reason why we’re on radio silence right now is because we’re set up to think that David Tennant’s 14th Doctor is the current Doctor, but where Ncuti says ‘someone tell me what the hell is going on here?!’ Is Ncuti is at the Guardians of the Edge and can’t get through due to either a) the toymaker (presumably) or b) Beep the Meep/ Wrarth warriors. Then, Beep the Meep is fleeing like he did in the comics, with the Wrarth following him… DT shows up, sees Donna’s new life, Rose Noble… but then as a defense mechanism, beep the meep/Wrarth send themselves into a TV SHOW like the comic… hear me out, hence wild blue yonder. Donna saying ‘omg where are we?!’ she THEN remembers but is safe from the consequences because they’re inside the TV SHOW (hence, the filming inside the warehouse for all of Wild Blue Yonder)
Neil PH is probably the one who turns Beep evil or causes his snap to be malevolent, aided with the Wrarth’s trying to catch him. Or NPH is Beep himself turn human. ‘He’s here, driving you mad… laughing at the human race.’
Or the Doctor ends up an alternate universe and it’s disguised as the real world. Can’t figure out why, and it turns out to be beep running from the Wrarths.
The Giggle is possibly NPH returning the Doctor back to the real world, where instead of DT it’ll be Ncuti saying what the hell is going on here?! Because he was DT five minutes ago but he won’t ‘regenerate’ due to Beep/Wrarth/toymaker shenanigans.
Thank you for my Ted talk! I’m hoping I conveyed it right/makes sense. If you need me to elaborate lemme know!
I feel like this year is better than 2013 because I look back on it and it was just overblown because of series 7, 50th and the Christmas special. But this year is more relaxed and the excitement is building up more and more until we get to November.
There are a lot of worrying signs about the 60th but on the hype front, I actually think the sparse coverage at the moment is encouraging. It demonstrates an understanding by the creators that a big even requires an absence before hand so there's a void for them to dramatically step back into...the same cannot be said of their decision to seemingly centre the bulk of it around David Tennant who (between the 50th, Big Finish etc.) seems to barely have been away from the show since he left.
Agreed, but all we know of the new specials so far is the first ep, so who knows, it would be kinda fun to see some of the RTD era cast back. Though I’d love to see some of the classic era Doctor’s, they pretty old, though that doesn’t mean we can’t get a big Big Finish audio drama of all the Doctors together
@@tgiacin435 Also true. Don't get me wrong, it's DW so I plan to enjoy it regardless. I'm ready (and hoping) to be surprised by the amount of stuff they haven't revealed yet for November.
@@PeraudisEquilibrium yeah, plus it’s RTD, his whole era had torchwood and the Sarah Jane adventures running at the same time as who.
Ok, but speaking as someone at the core of the fandom... They did just bring Tennant back for funsies. Everyone has their theories and speculation, but it seems like it really did just come up, and David and Cathrine said yeah, and it happened. It wasn't preplanned, except maybe on Russel's part, it wasn't to have a buffer zone between Jodie and Ncuti, it genuinely just happened for funsies. Like?
we don't know that. It's something to do with regeneration gone wrong. It's not for funsies, and even if it is, we don't know that for certain at this point
@@LauraGS564 No no we do know that, RTD only returned to bring back Tennant and Tate and he saw what the BBC wanted to do for the next era in the process and ended up staying
My beliefs about the 60th specials are
Episode 1 will be series 4 nostalgia drawing in casual viewers while setting up the stakes of the specials
Episode 2 will probably be the real celebration of the show with more typical anniversary special vibes
Episode 3 will usher in Ncuti's era and will tie up David and Catherine's characters for good
Yeah, that's the kind of broad outline I'm expecting. Maybe doing something in Episode 3, to show he's not going to repeat his earlier tenure. I believe there's speculation about a death, in 'The giggle', some RTD tweet.
So sort of like a Christmas Carol structure? One episode that's focused on the show's past, one on its present and another on its future?
It’s weird how it’s possible we’re going from mostly dead and not much doctor who to suddenly doctor who all the time
I see it as a racecar revving up before the race. Once we hit november, it just won't stop.
we've still got three and a half months to go ... I expect things to start to ramp up from September once summer breaks are over. If they build the hype up too early it will not be possible to maintain that over many months
I'm fine with it and still hyped and know I'll be busy as soon as August 29. As I go back to school and will be focusing on that. Still having Doctor who in the back of my mind.
Doctor Who is ALWAYS on my mind!
Does anyone know how long each special will be?
Special short twrm Doctors is something that fandom.has discussed for many years. It does seem a bit pointless that this year's specials are so close to Ncuti's debut. So they're not even filling a gap between series, they're more of a prelude to series 14.
4:43 Who else’s Siri did Crispy accidentally activate?
Finding the code to decipher in the videos were cool. I also do think it’s best to chill. We’re so used to getting stuff immediately this day and age that the fact we have to wait is tough. I remember waiting for the 50th on pins and needles and it was awesome, so I am absolutely sure it’ll be worth the wait.
I keep watching the trailers every other day to see if I missed something. Plus I still got the cold chills of excitement like I did from the 50th so I’m still in it!
I just think people cant be happy with anything and just enjoy what we have
5:01 - But let's be fair, that radio silence has also been positive. I mean, I was genuinely surprised when Ace and Tegan showed up in the trailer for Power of the Doctor. Imagine if this had al leaked beforehand.
Future showrunner gauging reception for how he'd plan a future anniversary eh?
Personally I am sufficiently whelmed (neither under or over). Sure it is a little bit of a lull in anything right now but we have months before November where I'm sure it will ramp up again, plus there's been way more promotion than for Flux, we've been eating good.
sufficiently whelmed is such a good phrase haha!
I feel like I'm always caught in the middle of these things. It's simultaneously been a quiet and busy year for Doctor Who. I think we've gotten plenty of promotion for the 60th. So far it's been the perfect amount to get people hooked while also avoiding anything/everything spoilery. That being said it's pretty obvious that they're going to release images of the new TARDIS and that seems like a step too far. That kind of reveal is far better in-episode.
Beyond that, there's Once & Future for a 60th celebration (it's gotten mixed reviews but I've personally loved it for the most part). Even if you can't afford it maybe someone you know has it, maybe piracy is a victimless crime even though Big Finish needs all the suport it can get, there are options! Even beyond their 60th celebration, they've put out some fantastic stuff this year. Doom's Day... exists. We're getting a book range specifically for the 60th (The Decade Collection, I believe it's called)! We've also heard a ton about the upcoming Series 14! Hell, we *just* got the new screwdriver. There's been a lot for this year if you don't just watch the show.
Also I feel like the "the 60th is just celebrating the RTD era" thing really isn't right. If you only look at how David, Catherine, RTD, etc. are returning then sure, I guess... but how can you only look at that? There's Beep the f-ing Meep. Someone who's almost certainly the Toymaker. A whole episode we know NOTHING about. Russell knows that this is the 60th and he knows what kind of opportunity he had when he needed to bring David in because Ncuti wasn't available yet. (Seriously it seems far too likely that the 60th will actually lovingly tell people to move on from the Tennant era, with this face returning and getting a chance to be okay with "going"). I've personally been loving what we've got so far and I'm incredibly excited not knowing what's coming from the THREE SPECIALS in November. It'll be a blast. And after that, we get a Christmas special as well!
Also, even though you might not vibe with all the new content, this is the perfect year to get into Classic Who, or a book range, or Big Finish! There's already TONS of stories out there. Enjoy yourselves!
Depends how you classify it's first year. So if Nov 1963 - Nov 1064 is Year 1, then 60th ENDS Nov 2023. Or you can view it as Year 0, so the 60th Anniversary actually hasnt begun yet
I’m just tired of waiting a full year for 3 specials and a new season.
It's been a while since Flux!
Doom's Day pretty much killed my hype for things happening outside of the actual specials and that I should just wait till November to be hyped.
theres just not enough happening right now
Hopefully by October there will be TOO MUCH happening!
@@CrispyPro surely
The funny thing is that Doom's Day is clearly paying homage to the various Doctors and the various eras, but people mock it and now they're dissapointed that "nothing is happening".
I'm not dissapointed, I'm more worried for what's to come. I hope we'll get some Classic Doctors representation. Don't make this a repeat of the 50th.
They HAVE brought back Tennant "for funsies." It's a ploy to save the shows absolutely decimated popularity. It was the only real move they had left at this point. I don't get why people can't just accept that. Bringing Tennant back was not some stroke of genius. It was the most obvious decision to make in light of how badly damaged the Doctor Who brand was after the Chibnall run.
We haven't had a doctor (reveal and removal) before, so I suspect they don't want to overshadow either David's episodes before they're broadcast, or underplay Ncuti's regeneration. The coverage may not be as bombastic as the 50th, but it's far superior to the BBC centenary hype.... (Was there any?)
It's funny how Doctor who in its 60th, and Power Rangers in its 30th, have both taken breaks yet have content coming soon which fans are hyped for.
I feel like Doctor who has had chance to rest and when it comes back it'll be like the 3rd coming of the show and all the better for it so I'm happy with the output this year.
I feel like if content was everywhere it'd be overwhelming and possibly sun par quality
A celebration of the tenth doctor era? I'M IN !!!!
You could always do some reaction videos of the classic era for the 60th
Engage pendantry mode:
It is Doctor Who's 61st year; it's first year was 1963, it's second 1964, etc. Its it's 60th anniversary year.
I feel like we're ok. We're certainly better than before but I feel like all the exposure to Marvel related movies have weakened our interest over the long term process. Marvel can cure someone with ADHD with the amount of ads and teasers they post out. Even those TV Spots "AVENGERS ENDGAME IS NUMBER 1 IN THE WORLD IN CINEMAS NOW" day in day out with alla those posts and ads everwhere.I feel a bit more can be done for the 60th but in time it will come. Maybe after September if nothing has really happened, then we worry but all in good time. TBF, Russell is working on EVERYTHING. And even typing that gets me excited bc remember, once upon a time, seeing Russell's name attached to anything post his RTD1 era seemed IMPOSSIBLE he would ever come back, yet here we are. He's got the 60th, S14, and 15 working on rn. And most of the actors are just slowly wrapping up their projects right now to go in Doccy full time for their era.
I think some of the criticisms feel a little harsh. I remember as far back as the Chris Chibnall era of radio silence, even for those providing merch. This is far superior, I suspect that Russell would have preferred to have Ncuti from the start, but schedules didn't align. So we have David back, as a (welcome) stop-gap, but the new era starts after the specials. I'm hyped as I never was during Chris Chibnall's tenure. There trailers focus mostly on the Starbeast, which is hardly surprising, given it required outdoor shoots. But we know nothing about Wild Blue Yonder, and the Giggle seems to promise a tragic character death....
There's still months to go, and we don't want too much, given what's been speculated from the brief trailers so far. A lot quite insightfully, Logie Baird, etc...
Nothing to do with schedules. Tate said to RTD that she wanted back in (2020), asked Tennant if he'd be onboard - he said yes, then left it to RTD who in 2021 had a meeting with the BBC about doing a Tennant/Tate special and saw what they wanted to do with the show (the Disney stuff was their idea), so he came back - thats RTD's account from DWM. Ncuti came later, and actually when you think about it his first episode airs a month after the 60th (which he is also in) so it disproves the schedules point entirely
@@lavishisles5497 Thank you, I assumed it was due to Sex Education/Barbie, and that it was necessary for there to be a sixtieth. I had heard they were both interested in returning, but thanks again for the clarification.
why did I just see elle from heart stopper in a clip of the trailer/teaser when I saw her I screamed
She's playing a character called "rose" in the 60th
*Neil Patrick Harris is not able to participate in any pre-60th publicity, even if RTD, BBC, and Disney wanted to begin PR early due to the SAG-AFTRA strike.*
As I understand it, British Labor Law prohibits a full strike in sympathy. However, actors who want to work in the future with SAG AFTRA membership will likely find ways to reduce participation and promotion.
That's frustrating for Doctor Who fans, but what the union is fighting for is to ensure that the actors on Doctor Who will still receive pay for their work when it's streamed in future years. The big *actors and the background actors all deserve those residuals.*
I did wonder about NPH and the strikes... verrry interesting!
im surprised that people are finding it so underwhelming. maybe it's just me being a biased tennant and donna stan and maybe its also bc i got into the show during capaldi's era so i wasn't there for all the 50th hype but personally speaking im really hyped. esp since i found chibnall's era to be quiet disappointing. this is the most excited ive felt about doctor who in years
Doctor Who ? more like Doctor What , What !!
What are people going on about, no content? We've been following Doom as she runs from Death for 24 years. What more do people need? I kid, but in fairness, unless you follow the DW socials, things have been fairly quiet for the general public in terms of DW content or even marketing. I'm expecting it all to kick off perhaps Sept/Oct time in to terms of trailers and main marketing running out in the wild.
Very true, the general public have no idea of the chaos thats about to happen
It's seems we getting less episodes plus alot of gaps between seasons of late. Ok excluding the covid years. Plus going back to 50th in Britain we had a huge convention in London. This year nothing special before or after the anniversary special??
They’ll ramp up from September
Hope so!
The 50th and 60th is very different because the 50th wasn’t a transition period between showrunners
Feel about as starved for marketing as the last 2 years of Chibnall tbh. Granted we've learned more about it than Flux and Power, but it still feels like there's not a lot happening in terms of the here and now.
There's lots of stuff for Ncuti but I'm just bummed we've got to wait another year for him.
Wait, what? Series 14 is only going to have eight episodes? They are getting shorter and shorter!
The anniversary isn’t until November so why should there be any big hype until the time arrives? There wasn’t enough time to create new Ncuti Gatwa or David Tennant episodes to start up right after 13’s regeneration. Think of all the work RTD and his writers and producers have taken on. Casting a new doctor and companion, plotting out the next series or two AND creating the anniversary specials and a Christmas special. Once we get to November, there’s gonna be so much hype over Doctor Who people will be begging for it to stop.
Can't wait for November!
idk who these fabs are, but i'm fans, and i'm very pleased with david returning 🤨
Gap years are going away per RTD, this is the last lull we'll get w/all the planned spinoffs. I'm not underwhelmed at all yet, cause I know the hype will pick up before the main events. I'm whelmed by it all so far.
The Chibnall era had me quit the show because of TTC, so I'm just happy we'll have a proven steady hand at the helm once more.
Let’s be honest. Doctor Who isn’t as popular as it once was. Why else do you think they brought back David Tennant?
Casting Nucuti and Yasmin have made Doctor who alot more popular with people my age
@@robbiemartin9312 With it coming to disney plus and with a new fresh face like Nucti im sure it will help the show. But it will come down to if the show is written well or not. Im not going to give Davis a free pass because his original era was amazing. He has to prove himself again. If the 60th anniversary is good then there will be hope for the Nucti era.
Look all I’ll say is it’s not the 60th year yet. It’s still year 59 until the specials air. We’re in the lead up to the 60th.
Very Disappointed with the Doctor Who Universe. We’ve got Crispy Pro promoting all RTD episodes what ever happened to the previous Doctor Who Doctors who are still alive! Tom Baker Colin Baker Peter Davidson Sylvester McCoy. I hope these previous Doctors have a storyline not just a clip of past history episodes. I would love Crispy Pro to watch Classic episodes like Spearhead from Space Jon Pertwee and comment what RTD can do to bring nostalgia mixed with new
I feel over-hyped. I've unsubbed from a lot of stuff due to the endless speculation and re-stating of the same few bits. It's coming in November, I have a life and plenty to do until then.
I don't know what went on in the UK and Australia, but here in America the 50th was awesome. Once a month BBC America showed a story from each of the past Doctors in order combined with a bunch of behind the scenes and interviews (the Dr Who Confidential stuff). The was a true celebration of the show.
So far, this is unimpressive for a 60th Anniversary celebration, sorry.
Also do remember that outside of the UK, the show is distributed exclusively on Disney+, which is currently dealing with 2 different wholesale labour union disputes. For them to promote a foreign show in the US using non US actors - would be a very tone death move from the studios *and* actors.
DW is only on 2 months this year and outside the UK you will pay to watch it. The 50th was big, that was a high point in DW resently and I saw it in Cinemas, now it seems DW is almost non existent. I also think it's more a Tennant/RTD celebration than a 60th celebration!!! After 12 we have had only 2 months of Who a year.
Doctor who just isn't as big compared to the 50th anniversary. And with the general public consciousness. Especially after the trash controversial Chinballs era with Cringy Whittaker. And that controversial retcon which has severely damaged the fandom and drove so many fans away. With a strong doctor like matt smith at the helm and the returning of David Tennant in 2013 after 3 really well received seasons by Moffat the show was just in a better place back then. There were massive doctor who 50th anniversary panels with the classic who doctors. Other actors and director's around the world like peter Jackson talking about the show and saying happy birthday. That is when modern who was still in its prime. No wonder the overall hype and attention is down for a show to maintain a consistent level for ever is impossible. We did see this before from the tom baker era going into the Peter Davison era into the colin baker era.
So far? Yep....
I mean the biggest issue is the stupid 12month-ish (?) wait.
Currently not impressed, but I'm ready for Ncuti.
SO READY FOR NCUTI
It hasnt felt special this year, hopefully November delivers. Ive just finished building my 29th anniversary deathzone dalek fir this years 60th. Thats timing lol
Perhaps they're letting the dust settle from the disastrous Chibnall era. Let people forget how bad it was, draw a line under it, have a break and reset. Then we get David, Catherine and Ncuti on the Graham Norton Show (they owe DW one for that dancing animated promotion), at least one of them on Strictly or Bake Off and the Breakfast Show, Good Morning, One Show......
I can't wait for Ncuti, tbh, but he has to wind up Eric's storyline in Sex Education first....😢😭
I feel that the David Tennant thing is all about popularity to draw people in. It's underwhelming so far, as been stated, because it's taken so long and it's just tidbits here and there and I'm quickly losing interest though I've watched Who since Tom Baker. My fear is that we'll get few episodes then nothing again. That's becoming tedious. I understood the Covid hiatus but this is again as other have said, bland. Do I love David Tennant, yes but enough is enough. Let him be a beautiful memory and move on to Ncuti.
ACTUALLY RTD is still writing scrips for 2025 although they filming for s14. :) So, he's planning ahead of time. :D Even I think the 2024 Xmas special is being scripted as we speak still so yeah. :D The 2023 Xmas script has been completed a long time ago.
Series 14 will be less than 6 months after the 60th (most likely)
@@CrispyPro And we've also got the Xmas special for this year two. :D
Lets be realistic, not many people care anymore, still buying up the box sets of the classic who but like a lot of people have no interest in current who.
Yes they do
@@mrdr0161 Wow, and you base this on? Absolutely nothing, fact ABC in Australia have dropped the show going forward after declining viewership, fact Doctor Who merch in Australia and the U.S sales numbers are in free fall. Check out your local comic book emporium, yeah you will notice lack of product, but hey you are clearly an expert that can quote the rapidly declining viewer numbers in the U.K. Get off your fan cloud and face reality dude, the show is dead in the water, and yes I would have wanted a better result.
what 60th? it is like its not a thing at all ( apart from Doom that i can't get into at all ) I've been with it since the 35th. am fed up with hearing about the 14th we not there yet, I wont to know more about this year not the mythical '' some time next year , no idea when .'' series .
Give use something epic now for the 60th, after all with out our love for it Doctor who would never have made it to 60.
Saying the 60th is disappointing is kinda dumb atm, with the main content not out.
Will Ncuti ask or complain about being ginger?
I am not even sure I want the tenth doctor back..some darker overtones to him at least! I don't think they should have brought Donna back..David should have met the new assistant so Ncuti has a softer landing. Will say it now, I would have liked 11 with amy and rory back for the 60th but thats personal choice! love your passion for the dr, thank you for bringing me all my DW news
I’m happy because doctor who is getting more recognition again and coming to Disney plus but I’m scared it will be mid:/
That Doctor Who will be mid or the fact that they are on Disney+?
tbf when arent dr who fans disappointed lmao but yea its been a bit lackluster so far
Jodie Whittaker's Power of the Doctor Special felt more like a 60th Anniversary Special by virtue of the fact that there were appearances of the Classic Who Doctors. They made that special, well, SPECIAL. As much as I like David Tennant's #10th Doctor, this special seems to be disappointingly, merely #10 all over again, in Series 4.
Damp squib of an anniversary. 30th anniversary was much better.
I think the 60th is just stupid, I don’t see the point of Tennant being back and I’m not saying that because he is the weakest doctor but for these reasons
1. It ruins the rule of regeneration as regeneration has always been new face, new personality
2. Not everyone has the nostalgia and I personally don’t get it. For me i got into the show when 12 was the doctor and if there was no gap year in 2016 when I went back to see series 1-7. Then I wouldn’t even know the doctors before. They really need to stop assuming everyone has seen tennant series because what about viewers that got into it during smith, Capaldi, Whitaker era?
3. It should be a celebration of all eras and rtd needs to stop being biased as 60th anniversaries have always been multi doctor stories and a celebration of the whole show.
Unless it’s multi doctor based I’m not going to watch it till Ncuti is the doctor as the who DT thing is just stupid and Donnas comedy is just annoying
Calling episodes 'special' does not ensure hey will indeed be 'special' to view and in this case they felt little different to any other run of stories, with some overt preachiness thrown in. It really was a poor showing.
JUSTICE FOR THE 13TH DOCTOR!🤧
SHE DESERVES BETTER!😭
Why did people get mad about the Doctor Who magazine? Seriously, why is it assumed everyone knows every single story about everything?
I think people are bored of waiting, that's all. LOL
Because it was about the coronation
Made it first
4 letters: doom. My god is that awful...
Doom will be the main character in the 60th
