To answer your question about nicole. Yes nicole is pretty much a robot. She was a A.I from the beginning of the series that got slightly more powerfull at the end of the comics when they dont need her anymore. (she was able to manifest her own body at one point but that body was limited to how far her range was from her source A.I.)She was actually one of the few interesting concept from the comics.
Read the comics written by Ian Flynn (any between #160 - end), they are way better than the ones by Ken Penders (#30 - #159 and Karl Bollers (? - #159) which seem to be the only ones you have been reading so far. There's a reason why SEGA carried Ian Flynn over to IDW Sonic to continue writing Sonic comics after Archie Sonic was cancelled. Also the only Sonic comics by Penders that I liked was the Endgame arc which was issues #47 - #50/SSS #6.
You honestly expected anything else? It's been 7 issues and the world is barely established. It took years of comics before the archie sonic comics even got remotely interesting, and even longer for them to get good. Ian's pulling off an okay to good job, considering the mandates and restrictions he's under. I am also legitimately curious as to why you'd describe Ian as a hack. Seems like chill guy to me.

Geoffrey was morally ambigious from the get-go, and showed doubt after realising Naugus was off the deep end; he would have redeemed himself had it not been for the settlement prohibiting the useage of any penders/bollers characters. Naugus becoming king - the arc in general - was well weaved together and executed well, manouvering in between the nascent mecha sally storyline wondefully. Again, it would probably been resolved shortly after 241 but then the settlement was reached. What the hell do you mean he turned Sally and Nicole into lesbians? Sally was clearly showing feelings for sonic prior to her roboticization and as for Nicole, she's an AI. If anyone shown any affect towards her that she's somewhat reciprocated, it's been Shard, and I'm sure you'd agree he's a more boyish robot than anything else. He didn't break the mandates, he twisted them, and in his early run (2006-2009) this went fine, but SEGA tightnened the mandates in 2010, so yeah, he was just operating under more loose mandates. Besides, Fiona isn't a SEGA character so turning her into a villain wouldn't break any mandate at all. If anything, he lived up to the mandate by making Fiona evil and annulling her and Sonics relationship as per the mandates Sonic can't be in a relationship; blame Penders for setting them up together in the first place. I'll go visit the channel you mentioned, but I hope he has better points than you, seeing as you're essentially grasping at straws.
I never read any of the older comics but I know that in some of the later ones they have some sort of indicator as to who said what when characters are off page. The best example I can think of is when they put Eggman and Wily's faces next to their text boxes during the MegaMan and Sonic crossover

I can totally see your problem with all the speech balloons when no characters are in view, so you can't see who's talking. The way these panels are structured would make more sense for an animated cartoon with voices. For a comic, the characters have to be in view when they speak, or there should at least be some sort of indicator of who's speaking.

Archie sonic kinda sucked until the late hundreds. When Ian Flynn took over(around chapter 160), the art and writing saw a massive improvement. He took all the characters introduced by pender and genuinely improved upon them. The story became something truly great.
I didn't complain about there being too many characters in general, I complained about there being to many characters in one scene. When theres so many characters in a scene it's hard to make these characters traits truly shine which is one of the reasons that this comic sucked so bad.
RicKo, I think Knight means if there's 5+ people in a scene, it can be hard to see who's talking. The same can easily apply to IDW comics, though the speech bubble placement is likely better.
issue 1 to 154 Archie Sonic Comics series do not make sense. trust me I try to read them. supposedly Sega threatens to cancel the series. so Archie comic they do damage control through Issue #156 to issue 174 them the comic begins to make sense. and it gets interesting in Issue 175 and the art in the comic improves

This issue could've easily been several parts. Infiltrating a base and saving someone is done in ONE issue, that's pretty ridiculous. Even if it is for Tommy Turtle.
This looks like a classic satam adventure but drawn in awesome! Fuck, animate that shit, I especially love the dramatic lighting, really gives it atmosphere. I really like the more mature style actually, it just feels like the next level of the show and I appreciate the hell out of it.
There's something I hate so much about these comics. The fight scenes. As opposed to Japanese manga, these fight scenes are filled with a lot of dialogue. Characters yap on too much. Also, the fights could be better.
Also, If you want some cringe read a wattpad Sonic fanfic. You would have to look a little bit but you will find something *eggcelent* for the next video.

These are never going to make sense to you if you keep reading issues at random expecting them to be stand-alone stories. Like I've said before the ONLY way for this to make any sense is if you read the issues that came before. This one especially since you read part three of a trilogy which is the end of the story. You completely missed out on the beginning and middle parts.

forces isn't formulaic and boring in my opinion. but I've argued this on the sonic subreddit so many times I'm not going to argue here. I might make a video in the future here on TH-cam explaining my opinion in-depth, but until then just know I love it.
TheIronJedi Potshots have been fired a long time ago, but to be honest, didn't completely hate Forces it's just a lot of wasted potential and I actually love the comic for the good stories and some of the bad stories.

This looks like a classic satam adventure but drawn in awesome! Fuck, animate that shit, I especially love the dramatic lighting, really gives it atmosphere. I really like the more mature style actually, it just feels like the next level of the show and I appreciate the hell out of it.
I fully admit though, as gorgeous as it looks, its badly written.

There's something I hate so much about these comics. The fight scenes. As opposed to Japanese manga, these fight scenes are filled with a lot of dialogue. Characters yap on too much. Also, the fights could be better.

man you really pick the worst ones back when the art sucked and the stories were much more questionable I think around the 180's they might be good I forget haven't read them in awhile I know they're great in the 200's
These are never going to make sense to you if you keep reading issues at random expecting them to be stand-alone stories. Like I've said before the ONLY way for this to make any sense is if you read the issues that came before. This one especially since you read part three of a trilogy which is the end of the story. You completely missed out on the beginning and middle parts.

forces isn't formulaic and boring in my opinion. but I've argued this on the sonic subreddit so many times I'm not going to argue here. I might make a video in the future here on TH-cam explaining my opinion in-depth, but until then just know I love it.
