It annoys me to no end how levels like the first one can get so many boos. It's a solid level with all the boxes ticked - nice aesthetics, generous with powerups, no hidden tricks, checkpoint etc. As others have said though, people will often boo a level because they can't do it, or even sometimes just cos they die on it. I've had streamers boo my levels just because they die in a way they consider 'unfair' when actually it was just them failing a jump or something. It's maddening. I can't help but wonder if that first level was a victim of some toxic streamer - booed the level, the creator argued back, and streamer got a load of viewers to go boo the level out of spite.
I've seen other videos where good levels were booed to hell as well which got me wondering... Maybe they are stolen levels and people boo it for plagiarism?

I used to think that booing levels was a good feature to five feedback to bad levels, but things like this make me realise that it honestly was a bad feature. Just make it so you can only like the level, so you just don't if you dislike the level.
I mean, that last level was _not_ 'mildly' difficult lol. And had 2 massive blind sections; it was that cheeky blurred line between 'Git Gud' and troll but the blind jump (and of course no Checkpoint) do it in. The Creator just wanted to see people cry: no fun.
I think people only boo'd Magikoopa Manor because red coin progress isn't saved, but the level gives you enough power-ups for that to not be too big of an issue

I bet there are also people or kids who dislike a course simply because they lose several lives in it, even if the course isn't actually too hard. And then there are also people who meant to like a course but accidentally booed it.
@@netweed09 that soft lock isn't on purpose tho. It's one thing to have a softlock that's deliberately made to catch people and another that's so obvious that you only have yourself to blame if you go into it. This one was of the latter variety, used for decoration, so it isn't grounds for a boo.

Because it wasn’t randomly placed, it makes it obvious that something is missing, the block is perfectly in the middle of the last platform before a seemingly impossible gap. At least it wasn’t hidden in a random corner of the map is all I’m saying.
I have a general rule about Mario Maker level quality that almost always holds true: If the level title is capitalized and otherwise written correctly, it's a good level. That's why I was surprised to see such a level title to begin this video about the most disliked levels. However, it ended up being good after all. (Why there were so many boos, I have no idea.) Likewise the title of the final level was properly capitalized, and it too was pretty good. For that one all the boos were because of the difficulty, as Dave said.
My guess on why these levels have so much boo’s is probably multiplayer versus. Many levels aren’t meant to be played in multiplayer and add the horrible online system this game has, it makes for a horrible experience

I feel like that last level relied too heavily on having to wait for things to line up. You can't just go fast. The end of it too is a bit trolly, since you're likely to run into the spikes because it's a blind jump, which I can definitely see people booing over.
The moment he mentioned Tabasco sauce I had ptsd from my childhood and being fed a giant spoonful of it when I got in trouble. My mouth still burns still to this day
I once played an awfu level where there were mostly giant piles of useless objects and then there was a boomboom boss fight in an unreasonably tight space where frame-perfect movement was probably necessary and it was tedious to get back to the boss fight through all the useless transport objects like a pipe subarea that existed only to waste time and several teleport boxes and doors that did the exact same thing. I never got through that boom boom fight, because the space was so cramped it would take a world champion with memorized frame data or smth to jump at the right time in that tiny room.

i created maybe 30 levels in mario maker 1 and 2 and almost no one never played it. 90% of levels are never played and never discovered, especially because the search tool is very limited, and the algorythm features more likeky popular creators, which share their creations with friends, to get this first pool of users, which is the key to get featured in any random expert mode next. if you don't have hundred friends or promote your levels yourself, you just upload them into a giant void.
If you can find one, go to the pepper place, it's a store dedicated to hot sauce. I like the peper garlic fusion, but there's a lot of different types and the stores I've been to have sample spoons. Also, when you run out always put some vinegar in the bottle, shake, and make hot vinegar. Hot sauce is basically pepper and vinegar, so it's just a little more sour than hot.
Putting vinegar in a bottle of hot sauce thats low is an EXCELLENT idea. I do this all the time with my Apple cider vinegar when my hot sauces run low. Great recommendation!

I think the first level was booed for the final fight. simply because it's somewhat inconsistent due to how the blocks are placed. I can definitely see people avoiding a magikoopa projectile and dying from what spawns Other then that, the first level, was pretty good and clearly had time and love put into it, even if there were a few inaccuracies (Potential softlocks at the start, and also making the mushroom blocks regular blocks instead of ? blocks.)

Levels like that lat one really make me wish DGR used a timer. He says it took way longer than it needed to, but there's no way to know how long that actually was. They're not hard to set up, either.
For hot sauce, I love lots of craft sauces, however one of my all-time favorite sauces is Crystal. I love it to death, and keep like 4 bottles stocked in case I run out and forget to grab more. It's a bit less vinegary than Tabasco and you can taste the peppers a bit more. Not too spicy either, and can go on pretty much anything.
DGR has a lot of tolerance for bad levels. If you think about it from a casual player most likely playing in endless, then the dislikes make a lot more sense. The first level's checkpoint was after a lot of rooms. Those rooms for DGR weren't very hard, but for a lot of the silent majority they'd definitely die a lot more and have to start completely over each time. The second level teaches you take a blind jump and then punishes you for it at the very end and then a lot of people wouldn't be able to intuit the hidden item and even those who did would get upset looking for it all over. DGR Boo standard's just don't take regular players into account, a common consequence of playing a game so much you lose touch with the player base's perspectives.

Difficult levels tend to be boo'd more often, and by difficult I mean even mildy difficult. Sometimes, that's all it takes.

From what I've seen, the problem with spikes is the hitbox. The hitbox is wider than the object, but you got past them. You got skills, bro.
