First, I wanted to say thank you for putting this video out there, as I couldn’t have done it without this! Additionally, I want to urge everyone to REALLY jam the window switch connection into its slot as hard as possible. I was being too careful, didn’t have the connection deep enough in the window control unit, and none of the controls worked. Twice. The last time, I took it all back apart and REALLY seated the connection, and voilà, success. So, if you have problems with the windows (and mirrors) not working, try that.
Glad you found the video helpful and you were able to get it done. Thank you for your tips and insight, I'm sure other people doing this job for the first time will appreciate you sharing that.
Thank you! Was able to change my R1 driver door handle after following your video. Had a little difficulty removing the window controller (bent front clip, and had to bend it back after treating to heat gun) and removing door card (pry tools didn’t work; ended up just pulling it off using handle to grip!). Also, was able to balance door card on my knees, so didn’t have to disengage/unplug any wires except for the window controller. Saved a little bit of work (though made drilling through handle a little more difficult). Thank you again for your excellent and clear video instructions!
I was pretty apprehensive to give this project a shot but this video was super helpful! Took about an hour, only real hiccup was getting the window electrical un latched. I eventually got a knife and cut back some of the covering around it to have easier access. Thanks man!
Super helpful video the techniques step-by-step through all of the key elements. The one area that was the most challenging was removing the electric window switches. There are four metal clips - two on each side. They are located immediately behind the window direction button and immediately behind the front window switches. I had to push ib on at least three of them to get the kloster to come out of the door. This step alone took me approximately 15 minutes mainly because I didn't know where the clips were located. I hope this helps somebody else.
Wow! Clearly spoken and clearly explained. Well done! I just completed the driver’s side front and it was JUST as explained! Great job. 👍🏼. When I got to the window switch it was tricky because i couldn’t see or feel the tab. Thanks for the vid!
Brother Man!🙌 I am so thankful! Your video overall 10/10 ... I'm subscribed! ... I made so many mistakes attempting this e.g. even broken handle covers
hey man I was able to get the door handles replaced but the two T25s don't seem to be screwing back in just spinning. the ones that go in the top and bottom of the handles to the door frame any suggestions?
I did the passenger door first. Went well. Drivers side was much easier after having seen that. Plugging everything back together. All went well except my window switches aren’t working on the drivers door. They’re not lighting up, no receiving power? Please help!
I believe so from the looks of the actual handles. However they real oem lists it with a different part number. You could message the manufacturer and double check.
Kendim yaptım, bej renginde suni deri aldım, kapi çıtasını sokup ardindan suni deriyi el tutma yerini kapladim her 2 tarafıda ,05 cm çıtanın altında kalacak şekilde kestim , bir tarafına cift taraflı bant yapıştırdım, suni deriyi yapıştırdım, ,05 cm iceri biraktim , ardindan gerdirip diger tarafı cift taraflı banti diğer tarafada yapıştırıp orayida ,05 cm iceri olacak şekilde kestim 2 tarafındanda yarim cm citanin altinda kaliyor ve ardından çıtayı tekrar taktim , hepsi bu kadar, fazladan isleme gerek yok , sadece suni deri ve cift taraflı bant yeterli
UPDATE: 5-6 hours later I finished the driver's door *only.* But, the latch used to open the door on the inside is stuck in the open position. It refuses to close/go back to normal. I couldn't take it anymore, broke down & called the dealer, begging them to get me in tonight to fix it...for $190!! It was 20 minutes to close, they couldn't get me in, but they did confirm everything is working properly, even my ambient lighting (which I just shoved backed in its spot it was originally in before breaking.) I don't need to drive anywhere tonight, so that's good. But, if I want out of the car, I have to roll the window down & open the door from the outside. I'm taking the car into the dealer tomorrow morning to fix the handle, there's no way in hell I'm taking this panel off again. Ok guys, I need serious help please. It's taken me 2.5 hours to just get the handle trim & door panel off & I broke my ambient light switch doing it. I'm over the whole DIY thing. Never again, I swear!! Anyways, I'm at the point where you take out the plastic screws on the inside of the panel, but I've gone through 10 different size power drill attachments & all I'm doing is boring holes in the plastic screw. They haven't moved a millimeter since I started on them an hour ago. I'm honestly about to give up on this project & just put the door back together, but I've come this far. Figure might as well finish it up & let it be a first & last time thing. My interior is beige, so I'm attempting to drill out the 4 beige plastic screws holding my door handle on. They're NOT moving! In an hour, I've managed to just bore a hole in the middle of the plastic screw
@@FritzRamos lol yes. I hooked up my door lock actuator cable without making sure the door latch was in the closed position. Something I didn't hear mentioned in any of the how to videos on doing work on your car (maybe it's a common sense thing, but I've literally NEVER worked on a car before so I didn't know.) I did not take it to the dealer to fix. After some googling & reading on forums I learned about the door actuator cable & the latch needing to be in the closed position. Lol
I’m all for saving money but when I see comments like this, nope. Unfortunately I would have to pay $200 than spend 6+ hours only to find out I can’t put it back together

Between yours and another video I was able to swap mine out!! Def not a job for someone who's not mechanically inclined. Thx for the tutorial!!
Mines is bad on the driver side as well. Great install vid fritz your well knowledged man I trust you on any bmw tutorial.
Thanks you, you're too kind. Its nice when its new but just a nuisance as the car ages.
Great video and great editing. I didnt realize how involved it was before this so im glad i watched this first. Thanks!
Thank you. It's more tedious than anything, but pretty simple especially after the first one
Thanks!
No problem! Hope it went smoothly
Great video but I find too complicated to remove all that and install again
Thanks

Wish I had seen this video first, way better tutorial!
Well you got it done and don't have to deal with it anymore so thats a good thing! 👍
I thought this issue only happens in my country (Malaysia). Thanks for sharing this video!
Malaysia! Glad the video reached you over there and no problem. Hope it helped! Let's keep growing the BMW community
Thanks for the video, does it need to be 5/16 bit? Is 6mm bit possible?
awesome! do you plan on doing motor mounts in the 2 series or an oil catch can?
2015 F30 same problem here I will fix it after your video thanks
Awesome! Glad you found it useful

Thank you for this awesome video, will be doing it to my f30 in a few days

Merci, très bien expliqué 👍
Does anyone have an updated link to the handles?
Hi do you now how voice commands activated bmw 2 series 2016
I believe that's part of the enhanced Bluetooth.

Do these handle replacements apply to the 3 series gran turismo?
I believe so from the looks of the actual handles. However they real oem lists it with a different part number. You could message the manufacturer and double check.
How’s the fit compared to the oem handles?
Mine fits like OEM
@@FritzRamos right on, thanks for the reply brother 🤘🏾
What size drill bit do you use?
What’s that screw size with washer?
What screws do you use? M6?
Anyone have issues with master power window and mirror cluster not working after replacement?
Yep. See below. The connector REALLY has to be jammed into the window control unit. Good luck!
What if you dont have a drill?
I suppose you could use a box cutter, maybe cutting pliers. Just be careful.
Does this work with 2 series ? 220i 2017
No. You will need the ones specific for the 2 series, but to the best of my knowledge the 2s don't have this issue

Way to spend 3 seconds on the hardest part...
That’s insane. Why does it need to be so hard to replace a simple thing
I better buy a new car i think
To each their own. I'd rather spend a little bit of money and time then buy a new car, especially in this market.
Poor quality.
Never buy BMW again😢
