3 Estranged (his journey to find inner peace about it)
All 3 are based on a short story by Dell James "without You"
There was no double. AXL ACTUALLY jumped
the 3 songs were written about Erin Everly, as well as sweet child o mine, but then he kind of relived some of it with Stephanie Seymour later on. The November Rain video however is based on the “without you” short story

this video was made in the middle of major turmoil within the band as axl had expensive ideas and other members felt his vision was beginning to get too extravagant.

My friends uncle worked on that huge ship and watched a lot of the video shooting and made a picture together with Slash....which was a huge deal because back at that time GNR were simply the biggest band on the planet...
They were mega rock stars. Bigger than any other band at the time.

FACTS. They were untouchable. It was always a dicey gamble when a band releases two albums at the same time, but maaaaaan the Use Your Illusion albums were *no joke* brother.

@@richlisola1 no. Not wrong. That was the beginning of the their stardom. Its symbolic of who they were/are. They changed rock n roll. They fuckin blew it up. And I kno all their songs. Mr. Brownstone is a classic. Used to love her. My Mechelle. But I feel like u had to live it to feel those tracks. My opinion. And i was a hardcore GnR fan. Headbanger. I had the hair the clothes the whole 9. 🤣🤣🤣 glad there weren't camera phones back then.

Man this really brings me back in the most amazing way. I have to admit, I did chuckle a little when you said something about him not jumping in the water, because that led to my favorite moments of the whole video - Axl with the dolphins, and then the pinnacle of Slash emerging from the water for that solo. From the moment I saw this video when it premiered on MTV to this day, that image has been cemented in my brain whenever I hear this song. Beautiful imagery. Guns N Roses were amazing for that, particularly with this trilogy of videos

It is based on a short story written by one of her friends. It is called "without you" I believe. I think the author's name is Del James
Del James released a book with several short stories, including Without You. The book is called Language of Fear. You can find ebook on Amazon.
The story, without you, starts at the end of November rain.

Every thing in this song relates to my life
The Story starts off with Don't Cry, in that video an actual event took place. Apparently while dating Erin Everly one of the daughters from one of the Everly Brothers was dating him, and I believe broke up with him. He tried to kill himself and both Axl(bill bailey) and Erin Everly wrestled with the gun, she managed to get the gun away from him and he began to cry. She held him and told him, "Don't Cry tonight, I still love you" which is the Chorus line to Don't Cry.
Something actually happened, and one of Axl's friends wrote a story about the 2 of them, fictionally of course.
It goes like this. Don't Cry.
Boy meets Girl, they're in love.
Boy is starting to become famous,
Girl watches as other Women start to want Boy.
Girl breaks up with Boy, Boy tries to kill himself.
Girl still loves Boy, but can't handle the situation.
Boy becomes famous, but succumbs to fame.
Eventually Boy dies, Girl is there at his grave
Girl: Don't you cry tonight, I still love you baby.
November Rain shows how Boy carried on,
Through Fame & Fortune, finds love again.
Loses another love, falls deeper into depression
And Estranged shows how Boy couldn't cope.
Boy's friends try to get him help, but Boy is alone.
Boy finds clarity and basically takes his own life
And in the end, his true love Girl visits his grave.
Random fact-slash’s mom is black and was also a costume designer for David Bowie in the 70s during his thin white duke period
The house in the police scene was Axls actual house, and the room he was laying down in during the scene was Dylan Roses bedroom. The scene and music was not sampled from anywhere, it’s all original. No stunt double, Axl actually jumped off the ship. I watched behind the scenes, and have heard interviews with the crew that were talking about it.

I must say, I'm a huge melomaniac that has found himself loving thrash metal, classic rock, grunge, rap, trap, pop, jazz, techno, disco, reggaeton, indie, electronic, folk music and so on; I just love music in general. I can't even decide one genre I like more than other, yet, I can clearly say Estranged is my favorite song ever, period. No hesitation and no close second. It's just such a beautifully written musical journey accompanied by some of the best lyricism out there. Glad you could listen to it.

I was born in 1983 so I grew up completely obsessed with Guns n roses and I give you my word that you have been misinformed lol The trilogy in which this song is part 3 of is called “Without You” It is based upon a real life experience of and is written by Del James, a friend of Axl Rose and the road manager for Guns N' Roses. That story begins with Don't Cry, then comes November rain, followed by this one ( Estranged) .
