TATTOO VAMPIRE1966 Lmao, from Milwaukee and it's funny when I hear people trying to pronounce "Wisconsin, Wauwatosa, Waukesha, Milwaukee, Kenosha, Wausau, Oconomowoc" and so on
Pronounce "MUSCODA". Correct: MUS'-ko-day. Incorrect: mus-KOE'-dah. It's THE tell-tale pronunciation town in Wisconsin. Say it wrong, we know you ain't from here.
How did I trip over this - Mike Mcgill our class president or some shit - then you can sniff that Billy Defoe - He hates us but We loved his pops. You fucking California relatives are weak . love ya
Wisconsin is mentioned so many times in hollywood films because they associate WI as the heart of America. The producers want the auidence to connect with their films and an american bond creates a relationship with their film.
I've never been there, but I know that Wisconsin, Minesota and the Dokotas are the most german part of the US. It's just got to be full of smart, good looking people, great inventors, engineers and artist, and they surely make the best beer. ;)
Gun Nutty In my class which is in wisconsin we talked about heritage and there was not one person who was not little German.I am Personally German and Italian
In Mystery Science Theater 3000 the Movie. The main character wears a UW-Stout hoodie which is Awesome. For anyone who doesn't know what UW-Stout is. It's a University up in Menomonie Wisconsin part of UW system that's unique to Wisconsin. Menomonie is a small city roughly an hour away from the Twin Cities on I-94 and maybe hour hour away from Eau Claire which happens to be the largest city in the northwest part of Wisconsin and overall the 8th largest city in the state. Wisconsin is Awesome. Great Beer, Great Brats, Great Cheese, Great Milk, Great Dairy, and we definitely know how to party.
digiprez77 Yea I'm aware of that. Those writers lived in the same hometown area I currently reside. One of the writers was born in Hayward. I don't live too far from that area. I remember watching the show and the character said he couldn't wait to see Spooner again. It gave me goosebumps when he said it.
Hehe people that aren't from near Milwaukee say the whole word. I live about 30 min away from Milwaukee, and everyone I know just pronounces it Ma'waukee. Also people that aren't from Wisconsin always emphasize the "c" and not the "o" in Wisconsin. Also, they say Green Bay weird. Like Green is higher pitched when they say it, more emphasized, but when Wisconsinites say it, we say it like one word really fast Greenbay and I guess the "bay" emphasized. Also Oshkosh, we say it like Oshgosh, but non-Wisconsinites say it Osh-Kosh, really emphasizing the K. It's just interesting to hear people say this stuff.
I have always found it funny that just saying the word "Wisconsin," is considered a joke all in itself in popular culture. As a byproduct, combined with the Packer phenomenon, it is one of the most famous states internationally. I have been a lot of places and usually get a great reaction when I tell people I am from WI. They often get weirdly excited, like I am from some exotic place that only exists in movies and on TV...
digiprez77 Without the Pack during football season, and without cheese, beer, and bratwurst, people would go hungry. Great company products like Harley and Kohler, the best way to educate people is to share what WI offers. There is even surfing in Sheboygan, who knew?....I find that people make fun of places they have not seen for themselves.
In 2006 I went to the Czech Republic to teach English. I was at a party and was telling a Czech woman that's why I was there. She asked me where I was from and I said Wisconsin. Her immediate reaction was, "Oh, we love people from Wisconsin. Yours is the easiest accent for Czechs to understand."
I knew most of these Wisconsin movie references. There sure are a lot! When I was in the Army, and was homesick, I would look for anything related to Wisconsin. It was amazing how toilet paper and Kohler bathroom fixtures could bring a smile to my face. Beaver Dam, Home of 16,000 busy beavers!
Dan Aykroyd to John Candy in The Great Outdoors, "when I look out over the landscape of Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Northern Michigan, I see untapped potential of open pit mining, chemical plants... What do you see? Candy: well I see trees... Aykroyd: Well, no one ever accused you of seeing the big picture. LOL
Movie references are like this: - if someone goes to a European country, it's Germany 80% of the time. - if someone is from a state other than "sunny Cali", it's Wisco. Love it.
I'm proud to say I'm from Wisconsin too! I'm from Pewaukee myself, but now I'm going to college at the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, Minnesota.
They forgot Coming To America with Eddie Murphy when he walks into the bosses office and asked his boss if he cought the football game last night and mentioned the packers of Green Bay.
"No Sleep 'Til Madison!" Jim Gaffigan: "I would describe that as a minor setback, but even with a big setback, when you're an experienced high school hockey road-tripper in Wisconsin, you just learn to roll with these things."
not sure. but we have a lot of pride. even people who hated growing up in WI know it as home and still get pumped to hear about it. I like to compare us to Texans we just love our state.
Harsh winters evoke our survivalist nature as much as our pride in drinking to keep warm (or to simply forget the shit weather). It's a bitch living in Wisconsin, but people are approachable, easy-going, and helpful pretty much everywhere. I think we're all at least a little proud of that, too.
But yea our winters in Wisconsin suck sometimes they are so cold but at least we get like 5 days off from school for snow days and get this: "cold" dad where some days it's like -30 degrees below 0!!!
You forgot to show a movie with Tony Curtis/Debbie Reynolds called Rat Race from. 1960. Tony's at a bar with Debbie drinking a Schlitz bottle. She asks where she from. He says "Milwaukee. I wish I was back there"
tl z No no no, I'm from Milwaukee and we certainly do not pronounce it Mawaukee, when I went up to Wisconsin Dells they even pronounced it right as they get many visitors from here
The whole college part was shot on the UW madison campus, but they don't ever say it, so unless the person who made this recognized the campus like I did, being a madison native, they might not have known.
Its because the Midwest is the heartland, but yes they mention 2012 several times, And what do you mean A Milwaukee and we but there is also the fact that Jack wanted to draw her like In A French Girl, (The Cheese State) I mean they managed to get a pic of MKE in the shot as well. France and Wisconsin are just very loose on clothing laws.
I'm from Wisconsin and I absolutely hate when people say WEST-CON-SIN
Oh my Gawd!!! Yass!
+Delta's Adventures i hate it when they even pronounce the W....it's Sconsin mother fuckers.

You can tell the person in the reference in Annie Hall was not from Wisconsin by the way she pronounced Wisconsin... Wes-con-sin... Totally not right.
This is exactly what I was going to post. Martin Sheen did the same thing in the clip.
Katie Jo Everyone else also exaggerates the C while we exaggerate the O. Wes-Con-sin compared to Wis-cOn-sin
Katie Jo Besides Cedar Rapid. He did it!

Milwaukee is not in Minnesota you fools!
They bombed West of Duluth.
XD
Only drunks can make a lazy shot there, typical for anyone from Wisconsin.
Wisconsin is this country's most underrated state, but I somehow doubt that Kate Winslet has ever set foot in America's Dairyland.
Ikr?
Yea, we do have the worst fucking winters, and I've been living there my whole life
I live in wisconsin.Best state ever
FUCK YEAH DUDE!!!!
Why the best state ever?
I'm from Milwaukee, now live in San Antonio and I'm here to say that you, Mike are delusional.
Except the Pay-ckers, the Pay-ckers are grate!
@@JDMatthias blow pack blow. The butt packers suck ass.
@@imthegrinchthatstolechrist4384 We have Summerfest, Harley-Davidson's home, Home of Miller Beer. Awesome!

Chris Farley is a Wisconsin native, played Tommy Callahan, a former student of Marquette University in Milwaukee in Tommy Boy.
Wisconsin is mentioned so many times in hollywood films because they associate WI as the heart of America. The producers want the auidence to connect with their films and an american bond creates a relationship with their film.
TheWisDude almost every time Wisconsin is said it is usually about how boring it is
I've never been there, but I know that Wisconsin, Minesota and the Dokotas are the most german part of the US. It's just got to be full of smart, good looking people, great inventors, engineers and artist, and they surely make the best beer. ;)
We do make great beer up here in The Cheese State
Zach Martin : Lots of great micro breweries around here, aina. Too bad I don't like beer.
