What I’m saying is everything the animated film did in comparison with the remake was better, but the stuff the remake could’ve done like expand on the story and do what the animated film couldn’t do because of the limited runtime it didn’t do. And we don’t know what Disney will do. The remake should’ve been twice as long as the original and added some elements the original didn’t but nope like Doug said “total shit”

In the original remember when Mufasa had just saved Simba and Nala from the elephant graveyard and needs to speak to Simba alone? Remember how he says "SIMBA!" in a booming voice and how Simba cowers and you feel his fear and guilt? In that same scene in the remake Simba's expression doesn't change at all.. I dunno, it's weird how this thing got green lit.

I get that everybody has their own taste but, objectively it wasn't good in any aspect, acting was abysmal, it was horrible adaptation, the music was ear bleedingly bad (not as bad as "Let it go" though, this "song" was like nails scratching the chalkboard to me), there was no chemistry between characters, choreography sucked big time and acton sequences was awful.

Your point on "animation can exaggerate in ways that 'live action' can't" reminded me of how in How to Train Your Dragon, they scaled up the big dragon at the end in certain scenes because they wanted the action to feel more intense. How come some people think realism has to not include exaggeration in animation, even if it's CGI? That was my biggest problem with the movie. They didn't even push the boundaries of animal anatomy to give them more life. Heck, they didn't even make the animals act differently from real life. Timon doesn't even ever lift his arms or move his body AT ALL. I think real life animals have more character, actually.
