I was in the Marching Band for four years in high school, and I'm 110% certain I could not play the trumpet while double-timing while also keeping all of my own teeth in my mouth.
They run at double time at 180 paces per minute.
Some of the top runners pace between 180 and 200 paces per minute without the heavy boots and clothing and instruments.
They are st the top of their game

@@mikeschumacher9715 A hunter felt hat with a cock feather was traditional in mountain light troops of 19th century (Corsican, Tyrolian, ... and Savoian Bersaglieri). Then the feather tended to multiply.

I Bersaglieri sono davvero tra i migliori , correre e rimanere inplotonati è già impegnativo, ma suonare e muoversi a ritmo è uno spettacolo unico, parola di ex soldato .

In 1977 I played on the Dutch tattoo in Breda and these guys played also there. In the evening we had a nice party with the Italians. We had a great time!
It's fun to see something different. I did my military in the Swedish army; specifically the Life Guard regiment, which partially consists of the Royal Guard batallion. Their style is more strict and stiff, basically exactly the same style as the norwegians you see at 2:52. Seeing this italian style was hilarious, and I mean that in a respectful way. It shows the spirit the italian soldiers surely had, as they fought valiantly in the mountains during the battles of the Isonzo in World War 1. Keep it up.
Running during parades is actually a tradition for them, they also do it during marches, tattoos and around barracks lol. They were light infantry shock troops with emphasis on mobility historically and were trained to move quickly on legs by running. They only became the mechanized infantry in ww2 and cold war (though there were some experiments with bicycles before that, for example during ww1).
The Bersaglieri are a special army corps that plays runnung, it is peculiar of this unit. There are many other italian army corps that march "strict and stiff" as you say!
Io sono di parte ma sono imbattibili in tutto, per le parate militari sono eccezionali acclamati da tutti. Brsagliere del glorioso Terzo Reggimento Bersaglieri di Milano XVIII Battaglione Goito dove ho avuto anche l'occasione di conoscere il mitico e grande maestro capo fanfara M.llo Leandro Bertuzzo che mi ha fatto correre dietro a lui tutte le mattine tra 1969 e 1970. Bellissimi ricordi indimenticabili.
No dico questo perche sono italiano ma i bersaglieri sono veramente i migliori per le parate militare con i Royal Scots! Bravissimi

What surprises me is some of those bandsmen are a bit on the chubby side, so them being able to run while playing their instruments is quite a feat!

El 25 Mayo de 1960, 150 aniversario de la Revolución de Mayo, inicio de la Independencia Argentina, vi a los Bersaglieri desfilando al trote, me llevó mi papá a la gran parada militar, con representantes de todo el mundo, ellos fueron los que mas me impactaron junto con la banda ecuestre del Regimiento de Granaderos Grsl San Martín. En el 9 de Julio de 2016, en la misma Avenida del Libertador en Buenos Aires, los volví a ver, fui con mi hijo mayor.

Non ho mai capito una cosa, magari quì sicuramente qualcuno ne sà più di me, nell'Esercito Italiano, ma soprattutto negli Alpini, ho visto che sono presenti spesso signori cicciottelli, sovrappeso ecc ecc , cosa che nelle altre nazioni non noto. Vorrei capire se ci faccio caso solo io.
@@ceccofranco8863 questa non è la fanfara dei Bersaglieri vera, quella dell'esercito per intenderci, sono bersaglieri in congedo dell'Associazione Nazionale Bersaglieri. Uguale per gli Alpini, quelli che vedi generalmente non sono gli alpini dell'esercito, ma quelli in congedo dell'Associazione Nazionale Alpini (e talvolta sono solo amici degli alpini che alpini non sono mai stati).

The musicians of the Bersaglieri are true multitaskers. They recruit kids who lettered in band AND cross country, preferably at the same time.

They born as an elite unit of sharpshooters in the army of Sardinia-Piedmont with high mobility on the battlefield, making them superb at flanking enemy formations. Legends make them shoot at 200 mt distant enemies while running.
Respect for italian soldier! The battle of El Alamein caused the death of 13,500 British, 17,000 Italians, 9,000 Germans and was one of the most decisive of the Second World War: it put an end to the Italian-German threat on the Suez Canal, handing over absolute domination of the Mediterranean to the British . By erasing an entire front from the chessboard, in perspective it paved the way for the second front, i.e. the landing in Sicily intended to bring the allies back to Europe.
The last to surrender at El Alamein were the Folgore paratroopers. Clinging to the edge of the El Qattara depression, they faced the 13th Army Corps which, according to the English version, had to engage only to give life to a false purpose, while in reality it had to fight one of the toughest and most exhausting local battles breakthrough of the entire front. Folgore's men resisted for 13 days without yielding a meter. Upon surrender they had the honor of arms and the name of their division has remained legendary ever since.
The English BBC on November 11, after the battle, commented: "the remains of the Folgore division have resisted beyond all limits of human possibilities". The British Prime Minister Winston Churchill, in the aftermath of the battle, said: "we must bow down before the remains of those who were the lions of the Folgore".
A sacrifice well summarized by the words of the Gold Medal, Ten. Col. Alberto Bechi Luserna: "among the sands that are no longer deserted, the boys of the Folgore are here for eternity, the flower of a people and an army in arms . Fallen for an idea, without regrets, honored by the memory of the same enemy".

Wonderful! I am writing from Debrecen, about Hungary. We also have a military orchestra festival every two years. (This year, for obvious reasons, he missed it.) They could come to us one day! Really looking forward to. Italians are coming, but that would be the ace!
