Great video brother..very very helpful..I didn't wanna tug an pull on anything in my car until I saw how it was done 1st..broken clips and panels can get very expensive..great job
Thank god I found this video. I just replaced my center console with another one with leather pads and ambient light from rs6. Your video was very helpfull. I let mine stay in park , it was easy to get shifter on again.
I have a question I took off the shift knob once I replaced it back the release trigger to put it drive , reverse, neutral doesn’t spring to release it’s just spring at all how do you fix that
@@williamh.8590 ohh ok. I’m doing a full swap to a carbon fiber trim. Need all the pointers possible. I took off the other trim the center counsole and ashtray is all that’s left.
I would say that he found out what he was doing after he completed the removal and wanted to save us time. This would explain why this was explained in retrospect.

Where did you hook up the ambient light connectors if yours didn't have them originally?
@@oli31 as per manual I connected them to footwell lighting . I also have ambient lights in door sides
Can you list parts

Hello i do need to change the alluminium trim. do i need to remove the entire center console?
Very informative. Just to replace the wood trim and ash tray is much easier. Right??
To take out the ashtray, you only have to take out the MMI panel and bottom AC controls if my memory serves me right.

If you are replacing the wood panel do you have to remove the whole console? Is the wood panel in pieces?
Thank you very much, vidieo was helpful and well done.
Other videos state 8mm screws at 01:45!
How is the wood trim held on to the console
I need to remove the Brushed aluminium panel around the mmi control .and ashtray . Does the whole console have to be removed ? cheers
Sorry for the late response. You'll have to remove the whole thing.
How long did it take you for you to do this 1 hour
Yes, about 1 hour is all it should take.
How did you get the gear shifter back on? Mine is stuck on neutral and won’t let me shift into park or reverse.
Watch the video I put up. th-cam.com/video/IHatExjqXiY/w-d-xo.html

You are a good husband
Horrible design. Typical of Audi though.
