    0:13 - Intro
    0:25 - The importance of Frank Rijkaard’s appointment
    1:53 - The Ronaldinho effect
    3:00 - Missing the Champions League final and struggling at the World Cup
    4:42 - Rijkaard and Vicente del Bosque's man-management qualities
    4:49 - Pep Guardiola's arrival and the conversation that convinced him to stay
    7:42 - Introduction of new players such as Sergio Busquets and Pedro
    8:32 - A bad start to Pep Guardiola’s reign
    9:12 - The best moment of the Guardiola era
    Barcelona was a club in crisis when Xavi made his first-team breakthrough in the early 2000s, but the arrival of Joan Laporta as president and Frank Rijkaard as head coach signalled the start of better times. In the second part of his exclusive interview with The Coaches’ Voice, Xavi reflects on the qualities that enabled Rijkaard to build a team to win both La Liga and the Champions League, and the impact that the brilliant Brazilian Ronaldinho had on the Barça squad.
    The current Barcelona head coach goes on to remember the injury that cost him his place in that Champions League-winning team, and affected his ability to influence Spain at the 2006 World Cup. He then reveals the impact that Pep Guardiola had when taking over in the summer of 2008 - after Xavi had been named player of the tournament at the European Championship - including the conversation that convinced him to stay at the club. He discusses Guardiola’s introduction of a talented new generation of Barcelona players, and how the team recovered from a bad start to carry all before them in a golden spell for the club.

    Xavi the legend. He might reach Guardiola level and then he'll be one the best midfielders of history and one of the best coaches too. I'm very hyped for his career and I'm not even a Barça fan haha

      You know that reaching guardiola's level doesn't just depend on tactics or how interesting you sound on the coaches' voice channel, right?

      @@xxx-us9fj Xavi and the current barcelona feels more like the rijkarrd era then pep guardiola. If you remember Laporta's first season is now and also when he appointed rijkaard in his first stint, also the style Xavi is playing allows for more counter attack than what Pep was doing so it seems closer to rijkaard.

    The way he reads the game, the way he reads people... this man is the living evidence of one being observant, I mean he opens ones mind to a different perspective, so much so that watching a live game becomes more informative than just watching a 90minute game between 2 teams. The progress I have made as a local soccer coach has been massively supported by this channel and the amount of useful and minute details most will overlook as a fan, player or coach.

    One can always wonder if Messi would have been as good as he was if he didn't have Ronaldinho to look up to in his early years. Maybe not the top professional off the pitch eventually, but in his prime no other player has been that good. He made me love football again after I had quit playing myself and was pretty fed up with it for a few years.

    my fav coach is tuchel but i watch pep's or klopp's press conferences, if xavi is similar to one of those, for me it's tuchel definitely because of him being closer to the players as humans, like brothers, for me tuchel is better than xavi since he has more experience, and push his players in a extreme willpower level to apply tactics, because for me it's all about being the best in convincing your players or motivate them the most , but xavi still can do better.

    I adore Xavi the player, Xavi the manager, and Xavi the culer. But it bothers the shit out of me that he promotes Qatar so openly. When you hear news or rumors about a government that violates human rights, they definitely do. I come from Cuba, a prime example of that. Public figures need to be more responsible with what they are endorsing and legitimizing.

    From a Real Madrid fan, I think he’s an incredible coach but he needs to keep his mouth shut about only being happy when playing beautiful football and not being happy if they win ugly. Tiki taka isn’t even Barcelona dna it’s ajax and cruyff implemented it in barca 40 years ago. Good coach could be better if he spent less time talking about Madrid and actually focusing on how to win

    • @leface30
      @leface30 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It is our dna..because the world knows it because of us. Its roots are in the teachings of Cruyff and his way is our way. The Cruyff and barcelona way is the same. It is much more than just being good on the pitch

    • @CHINGYBINGBONG
      @CHINGYBINGBONG 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      What the hell are you on about? That is his opinion, if he thinks that. He can say it. You don't understand anything about DNA and what he means by that. This Barca DNA has dominated Real Madrid for almost 4-5 years. With him in the team...

    • @rachetmarvel931
      @rachetmarvel931 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      A clubs DNA changes with time, so it's s now in our DNA, and it's literally what's taught at La Masia.Tiki Taka is now associated with Barca for a good reason.
      Of course his going to talk about Madrid, they are our enemies. We have no respect for them.
      What Xavi is trying to say is that, we are Barcelona, so we should not only be winning but winning in style. Cruyff once said something similar.
      You have to realise that this Barcelona team is a team still in transition with young players, so I think it's good thst Xavi puts in the mentality that they have to not only win, but win in the Barca way. It may sound arrogant, but I wouldn'thave it anyother way .
      It's not a coincidence that we started declining during the Valverde period, when we used to play some reserved and stale football while still winning games.

    People hype up xavi because of messi. Modric is much better and more well rounded. Xavi could only pass and dribble well. Modric can pass better, has more technical skill, can shoot and score, has energy and pace to drive the ball forward. Modric getting underdogs croatia to the world cup final is a larger achievement than xavis world cup win, when xavi had an allstar team.
