You could tell Taylor’s running game was on point. His stride was good(no heal braking due to over striding) looked like the foot was landing under his body to keep the forward momentum constant. Nice work!
We are shocked that this video was published. After the tragic events of Event 1 of the 2024 Games, everyone now knows that a run followed by a swim is inherently dangerous. Triathletes have known this for decades. The danger is magnified to unfathomable levels when the only lifeguard on site is a dog whose credentials for lifesaving are not on file with the PFAA and whose judgment seemed to be compromised in his decision to station himself only at the point of water entry and exit. Have we not learned anything? This video directly undermines our efforts to make safety the number one priority in our sport, which is absolutely essential for moving our sport forward. But the real offensiveness of this video is the found in the callous reduplication of the very event that led to Lazar Dukic's death. You are making light of Event 1 of the 2024 Games. It's a dog whistle that the event was not really dangerous. This toxic --masculinity-- arrogance is unacceptable in the professional sport we aspire to create. A complaint has been issued to HWPO re Jayson Hopper's participation in this video. This may also affect Taylor Self's future eligibility to be a full voting member of the PFAA in the unlikely event that he actually ever qualifies for the Games. We did this in July. The Pfaa takes that month off for male pregnancy leave so we could not get in touch with them for approval.
