Beautiful. I have always loved the original Skoda 1000mb. From the 60's until the end of their production life, all of the rear engine models were quite popular in the UK.
It was one of the most modern car in Europa, in that time. Light constraction ,independent suspension, aluminum engine block, ,low consumption cca 7,5 liters/100 km. Compare this car with other cars in Europa., Trucks compare with Škoda. One oh the most elegant Škoda ever made. Bravo Škoda😊!
Not sure why did you repeat some footage with lower quality in the same video. Multi-story apartment buildings may look boring and ugly today, but in post-war Europe they were modern and provided much needed housing. The balconies have matching red color, a nice touch. The car itself is not much behind its Western counterparts. I wonder what would happen of socialist Czechoslovakia if not for the Soviet military invasion in 1968. The country looked very modern and Westernized.

I could remove engine and gearbox, strip gearbox, fit new 2nd gear synchro, and reassemble to running in under 6 hours. A great little car, and, because I also fixed VW Beetles, I'd say Skoda 1000mb was superior.
Giravano anche in Italia. Io ricordo bene la Skoda Octavia, più diffusa della 1000. Noi in Italia sapevamo della qualità dei prodotti cecoslovacchi e li abbiamo sempre apprezzati. Poi la Skoda tedesca ha perso identità.
I think is inpossible to compare Škoda with Trabant. Škoda was modern car, house constraction as real familiy car in that time. Btw my father both itvalsonin 1967 the same car. Only problem was boda and rast. Anyway it was good car, but neefs a bit more powerfull engine. 45 hp was little bit weak. Design was great, . Don"t forfget it was cominism time and Škoda prove in that hard time, that is still modern carmKer. Škoda was never jake.
Nie wiem dlaczego ale ten czeski model darzę największym sentymentem, mimo że miałem favorit a potem felcję. Obecne skody są napewno dobre ale wizualnie mi się nie podobają, tak samo jak volkswageny i seaty. Ta sama sztampa. Brzydki grill ostre linie, nie, to samochody nie dla mnie
V tej dobe neboli závody technologicky nastavené na veľké výkyvy vo výrobe. Aj Chirana vyrábala jeden typ zubnej súpravy (Chiradent 654 C) 30 rokov a dodnes na ňu dentisti s láskou spomínajú. Trh sme si rozmaznali a dnes sa súpravy vyrábajú čo kus, to takmer vždy originál, aspoň výbavy čo sa týka.

VW even spied and stole from Skoda and VW also spied and stole from Tatra. I got a weakspot for those brands from former Czechoslovakia. An uncle had a Skoda (late 80's) and later a Lada Niva (SU) both pretty rare and strange cars in The Netherlands, that is why I liked them 🤠

Ještě kolem roku 1991jsem s ní jezdil. Jenoduchy, spolehlivý vůz. Jak se říkalo na opravu stačil 17/14 klíč a šroubovák.

My fater bought in 1967 and me was one other 30 years later, because was much better than a Trabant. I enjoy to drive in snow.

Miałem taką w kolorze stalowym, oczywiście kupiłem używaną i po 5 latach używania sprzedałem dalej sprawną. Był to bardzo udany model.
