What else should we react to? 🤔 Comment below! Also if you like the song in the intro check out ‘Love is Blind’ now 🙌 th-cam.com/video/4YpIG60jyHY/w-d-xo.htmlsi=rGs3svMixQtqjt2k
Check out Leo’s version of this song. Frog leap studios. You won’t be disappointed.
You should react the cracker Island by The Gorillaz
th-cam.com/video/eS7rMAfqNUg/w-d-xo.html in conjunction with gorillaz
th-cam.com/video/Jl-SRI6XtE0/w-d-xo.html Romain from Rens old band the big push
Gorillaz - El Mañana is kind of a sequel to the video of Feel good Inc.
th-cam.com/video/hji4gBuOvIQ/w-d-xo.html
"Why is he 2D" was so funny to me because...he is 2D. That's his name.
He was talking about Murdoc in the back.. I think?
i thought the same haha, but then i got it he was talking about Murdoc in the back, but it stills funny
i giggle a little too
Yes!!!!
Cracked me up too
Noodle is a girl (the girl that was on the floating island). You should check out "Dare- Gorillaz" it has noddle in it.
The music video ties into an other music video, for "El Mañana". Their discography is quite broad, but I think you might enjoy "Stylo", "Pac-Man", "Dare" or "Garage Palace" for very different reasons. The animation and music is of the highest quality in all of them.
Also, the person on the edge of the windmill is not 2-D the singer, but Noodle, the guitarist ( who kicked the sh*it out of undead apes in "Clint Eastwood").
Frrr
DARE next 100%
Stylo definitely!
Dare is the first video in the story, then Feel Good, then El Manana
Dare still one of my favorites
Heard this song a thousand + times and you just taught everything about this song.
I feel like you need to react to a video about the lore and story of the Gorillaz across all there albums! There is a really crazy story and world being built!
What does the windmill represent in Feel Good Inc?
2D is reminiscing/dreaming about the windmill that's headed for real land - the land he belonged to before the Inc took over his autonomy. He sings about the love and freedom that turned forever on the windmill land and invites everyone at the Inc to join in.
Feel good inc. is where the band is going partying using drugs/sec to feel good. The windmill is outside of all that where noodle is happy without the drugs. The tower is even shaped almost like a needle. 2-D wants out that’s why he longs to be on the windmill with noodle. De La Soul represents when the partying starts again and 2-D is drawn back into partying and dancing. Then he goes back to longing for the windmill and getting away from the drugs. The second rap verse he doesn’t start dancing he just gets sad it’s starting again.
One of the coolest things about their videos is that they largely connect and tell the story/history of the band. When/if you finish doing reactions to them, you should definitely see about watching them in order.
There are a number of playlists that not only have the music videos but band lore and interviews in chronological order. It's interesting to see how they portray the characters over the years, especially 2-D and Noodle. There's an entire book written about the history of the band that explains things like 2-D's eyes and why Russell's possessed.
Since you already jumped to feel good Inc you should do Dare and El mañana next. But I'd say do at least one more song from their 1st album, it can be tomorrow comes today, 19-2000 or rock the house with Del. There are even other non m/v tracks that rock
Also, before leaving demon days you have to cover the MF DOOM Collab, maybe even the D12 one
Melancholy Hill is a direct sequel to this. Also, the person on the Windmill is a different character, the little girl with the guitar from Clint Eastwood.
The person outside playing the guitar is a girl by the way, her name is Noodle. The one singing the song is named 2-D, he's not the only one on the island.
YESSSS Knox. Keep Gorillaz coming my dude. Love your breakdowns. Your latest track is great too. 👍
El Mañana is the continuation of the story being told through this video.
You should check out Melancholy Hill by them next. Its a vibey song but it's also deep
Audiotape, "grieves", he's got some stuff...or "prof"... both highly underrated
So the scene with the windmill floating by that's not 2D on that island, that's the little girl "Noodle" that's playing guitar there.
gorillaz song November has come its featuring Mf Doom its got a sick rhyme scheme
DOOM!
@@danrudnick5252 such a good song
Fun fact: the guitar's G string is flat by -42 cents
I've been listening to this shit 20 years, never really completely understood the lyrics or thought much about them. This guy listens to it once, understands and analyzes every word. Edit to add a massive two finger sky point to Plug Two!
My all time favourite song and now my son is 13 years old and he love this song too❤
I love how your audio drops out around 15:36, that was the best part of this video. :P
Hey Knox, the last few seconds of the video, the audio dropped off. Maybe it's on my end. Wanted to let you know in case you weren't aware.
His voice cut out for me as well.
Gorillaz - Saturnz Barz
the Music Video was produced by fortiche production the G.O.A.Ts behind ARCANE
Gotta check out Sleep Now In the Fire by RATM next
I'm just floored that somebody has not hear, which is probably one of the most popular songs that's been our for what... 20 years now?!
Still can't believe the radio edit of this great song cuts out LITERALLY half the song. Like...why even play it? I hate hearing it while I'm driving because it's over as soon as it gets going.
10:39 "Is this shots at the music industry?!" Yep. Yes it is...
The next from Gorillaz could be melancholy hill or dare those are really good too, greetings from Colombia bro your content is really good and I love the way you go through those lyrics giving them a deep meaning, awesome work.
The part after the beep there is crackling as being if played from a worn out a audio tape
there's videos that will be good also, Rock Da House by Del the Funky Homosapien, El Manana, 19/2000, Dirty Harry, tomorrow comes today, silo featuring Bruce Willis, Dare. just to name a few to check out, if you want to, Knox.
For a followup to this, the video for Gorillaz's "El Mañana" picks up right where this music video leaves off, and goes in a different direction. It doesn't have rap vocals, but it's an amazing song nevertheless.
@knoxHill Of course the singing is missing something... that is the point. The singer is named 2-D for a reason... He himself is not "whole" he is Dimensions to him.
Every time I hear that bass man it changes me 😭
Gorillaz are great. Melancholy Hill I think is my favorite Gorillaz song. Definitely one to add to the list.
Charlick attack could also mean a woman and at 12:36 is noodles they’re 4 group members 2D, Murdaugh, Russell, Noodles
The video reminds me of the Miyazagi anime film Howls Moving Castle. It’s awesome
Hahaha I always thought/heard "Santa's breaking down on a camel's back" and I thought that Santa was break dancing.
Gorillaz music video will show the story from the first music Clint Eastwood to a pacman music vid. The girl name is noodle that she play a guitar sitting on a flying island with a windmill. She ran away from a helicopter who keep chasing her.
i'm honestly just in awe that knox can understand what 2d is saying😭
Next gorillaz song you have to do is November has come
The helicopter at the end of the video is representing the windmill in the sky because the helicopter is the depressing new age Luv windmill that he is wanting and floating on in the sky
Playing Ponies at the Track is also a euphemism for betting/gambling on horse races.
Kinda want to see him react to El Manana with the context of Feel Good Inc. now.
Though if we're going in order of bangers, Saturn Barz and Humility should be next on the block.
I really love how the words "Feel good" are sung in the probably most depressed way possible
You're the first reactor I've seen notice the beep. Good ears.
this song features de la soul… just thought i’d throw that out there!
ok i should have just waited before i commented 😂😂
That was phenomenal! Thank you. But what happened there at the end, where you so blown away that you lost your voice? 😅
Uh oh. You censored yrself at the end there. Great breakdown as always. I've also heard this song before, 1000s of times, but it's hard for me to pay attention to lyrics unless I try. I'm more of listening to the music. But when I would make music I wanted it to feel good, but also have hip hop style rhyme schemes. Where most rock just focused on the end syllable, I'd do internal and multi syllable end rhymes. Cleverly set up but while pretty much freestyling over the track and keeping what I liked. Very fun. I miss my 20s...
Noodle is on the floating windmill, 2-D is singing
This song always reminds me of run boy run by woodkid
One of the best songs ever made
I can't believe you never reacted to Gorillaz before!!! I am shocked. 🙃
Great reaction bro (also funny note cuz i watched till the end your mic cut off lol)
I would love to hear your take on Saturn Barz by Gorillaz!
Though it's a different band and different style of music, when I think of Gorillaz I also think of another band that started out named Prozac, which I guess then went to "Simon and Milo" in the US. Might be time to open back that bag of fun!!
now that you are in to Gorillaz and Damon albarn you should definitely need to check Damon's main band, Blur the videos song 2 or coffee and Tv and also check Gorillaz live
hey knox, since you hit a mill, can we fianlly get that infinite reaction
Resident Evil, Umbrella corp.
You should hear it in its entirety first, and then do the breakdown. The way you did this reaction just broke the immersion of the song and nobody, not even you, could enjoy this masterpiece.
Pls do Saturnz Bars, Dirty Harry and Dare all by Gorillaz oh and the You Feel Good Without Me? which is Feel Good Inc's beat with Eminems Without Me vocals and it is soooooooo good.
you gotta do november has come next.
For metal Mondays: Acid Bath, really anything!
please, when you get a chance, listen to do ya thing. it is my all time favorite gorillaz song
As by the video "breaking down Feel Good Inc.", the corporation is made to industrilise happiness by songs, whilst Windmill Island (which is full of helium) is hope for indie music like Gorillaz, fuck the lables, just do ya thing, make sure the music is good, make sure it's all good, Noodle (the guitarist) is on her windmill island with the vinyl crackle of ye olde times, and just like british poet once said, dark windmills aka factories corrupt the land, and thus the helicopters attacking Windmill Island, leading into El Mañana.
this song is every cool💯
RIP Plug 2, AKA Trugoy , the Dove!! Died right after De La Soul won the rights to their back catalog of music from the record label. You should react to them. Miss rap like De La Soul, Arrested Development, etc. that actually had a message in their songs.
Gorillaz are so freaking awesome, man! ❤
What about Chinese Man? Anybody else thinks Knox would enjoy it? For example the song Racing With The Sun.
If i remember the first videos are a ongoing story
We need him to look at dirty harry music vid
Find it really hard to believe that u never heard this song even by accident. This song was huge. Better late than never
music gets more interesting when you are listening to it rather than hearing it.
There's so many good Gorillaz tracks but I'd like to see All Alone as I think Roots Manuva should get more attention than he does.
I'm pretty sure el manana is the sequel to this song/video (at least the video)
no one ever gets the Ice Cube shoutout... "don't stop git it git it"
Slow county there's something smooth about the vocals of 2D
I’d recommend stylo or
Melancholy Hill
14:15 oh right, strobelite...
Dude, you might want to fix your audio. It goes silent near the end.
All that is heard is the Chime for the seal of approval, but a second or two before it and everything after, straight silence.
That intro song… love is blind
Am I trippin or did I hear a ghetto boys flow in the clip?
Idk… it kinda sounded like “my minds playing tricks on me”
You have to break down blp kosher... Too many bars each song is fire. Check out special k, mazelteon with baby tron, castle, jew on a canoe, cheap gas, 2000's baby, the nac 1-3 i can go on forever. People struggle to catch his bars you should step up to the plate and see what you got
0:01 why did 8 think Logan Paul pewdie and a Russian mma finger lol
Very little compares to Murdoc vibing in his underwear. A sight you won’t ever get out of your head.
"Dare" is 👌😘
Thats noodles on the windmill island. 2D, Russell, and Murdock were in feel good inc. Im sorry im not trying to be a fact checker in a disrespectful way.
RIP Trugoy the Dove
The person in the feel good inc is a boy, he is expressing his love to the girl (On the edge of the floating island) but he cant get to her
In case you weren't already aware, your website is down. I was gonna buy a t-shirt, but the links from your insta and Google dead end
Don't know if it's just me but the audio from your microphone cuts out the final about 29 seconds. All editing music and such is still there though.. give it a look maybe, loved the breakdown bro. I've listened to this song for years and never understood a single part of it😂😂
Knox Hill, lining em up like ass-cracks
I like to joke, but that was a deep cut you pulled out on chocolate rationing dude 💯
The person on the windmill is actually Noodle their guitarist. 2-D and the rest of the band are stuck in Feel Good Inc while she is attacked by their helicopters. El Manana is the ending of this story.
I recommend On Melancholy Hill as your next song.
That chorus, to Melancholy Hill, will always be stuck in my head. That and Pink Plastic Bag.
They're just little pink plastic bags
Blowing on a highway alone
They don't know where they'll go
They just gonna float out
Melancholy Hill is such a jam
@@SteveA308 it's every chill track of Gorillaz is like inverted banger of a track. Just leans you back. Like, 12D3 off of G-Gidez. Whole entire G-Sidez is full of my favorites.
need el manana
El Manana is such a beautifully sung and arranged song & video, it makes me a bit teary eyed whenever I listen to it.
Melancholy Hill is great with it's haunting undertones juxtaposed with the almost wistfully hopeful melody. I literally cannot watch it without watching Stylo first, I'm hard wired to watch/listen to them in the stories chronological order haha.
Not only is their music really great, their videos are also so creative. Glad you’re getting into Gorillaz! One of my husband’s favorite bands of all time.
Every album is better than the last
@@pudermcgavin4462I disagree, I feel like the newer the album, the more hit and miss it is, but the fact that Damon is still spitting out masterpieces is incredible. But I might be biased since Demon Days is still my favorite album by far
The first 2 Gorillaz albums back in 2001 and 2005 were so far out of left field compared to everything else that was coming out at that time. And nearly every track on their self titled first album and Demon Days their second were absolute bangers. There was such a depth and fervent passion for what Albarn & Hewlett were creating, and it shows in the lyrics, the melodies, and the videos. They were classics as soon as they released, and they hold up over time so so well. Even 20 years later, they still have that same energy and the same hook that gets into you. Glad you're digging into these songs. Others to listen to from that era: 5/4, 19-2000, Tomorrow Comes Today, Dirty Harry, Dare, and El Mañana.
El Mañana for sure
I can’t wait to see him analyse Dirty Harry haha
@@Bongsandquotesilike Oh, Knox is going to LOOSE HIS SHIT trying to breakdown The Song Machine project 🤣
Graviteh-eh-eh-eh eh-ehhh.... Still gets in my head sometimes.
Stylo, all day, anyday
Does anybody else find it hard to believe that in 2023, people are still 'only iust' listening to this for the first time?
Yes
If anything, I find it more believable, honestly. If you weren't old enough to remember it on the radio, there's not a lot of reasons why you would have listened to it.
It's like people being shocked I hadn't seen The Godfather when I was born, like, 17yrs after it came out
Nah bro, people be in their own lanes in life. there are millions of performers out there. We as individuals only listen to a fraction of a fraction of a percent of the music thats available and that availability is entirely shaped by our environments. For Example, did you know that the theme to Tetris has words?
@@donalucino7401 The only thing I love more than recognising the humanity of others is fun little trivia. Thanks for both lol
@@raimarulightning you're right on the money too. Songs like "Shave 'em dry" by Lucille Bogan are praiseworthy, but 90 almost 100 years old now. It's too raunchy for you tube, the kids won't find it here. and being so old it's just not on anyone's radar. its beautiful, single take, no autotune, piano and vocals probably recorded by a single mic together. it's a gem ;)
Damon albarn the British guy doing the singing parts is the lead singer of blur, legendary punk/indie band that burst onto the scene at the same time as oasis. Brit pop era you should check out blur you'd love it
Start with charmless man by blur
Punk? lol. Don't get me wrong, I love Blur but they were hardly punk. They weren't even indie for most of their career, unless you consider Polydor, Warner and EMI as indie. :)
They were Britpop, not even remotely punk or indie. The only song they had that even approached a punk sound was "Song 2" and that song was meant to be a fucking _joke._
@@RabblesTheBinxIt's ironic that Song 2 was the most successful track of Blur, just like Smells Like Teen Spirit was for Nirvana
@@RabblesTheBinx umm popscene(which sounds like wire meets buzzcocks) and quite a few others actually.
If I’m being honest, I always enjoyed Feel Good Inc. for the sound, and never truly paid attention to the lyrics. To see Knox pulling all of this information out from what he’s hearing? That’s extremely impressive and now I’m hearing this song in a completely different light. Thanks!
❤same. This is one of my wife's favorite songs. I could never really tell what the lyrics were either tho.
This is why Knox is the 🐐 at breaking music down so dang good!!
If you plan on diving deeper into the tracks in Demon Days, keep in mind that it came out in 2005, and the major thematic elements involve the political climate of the West post 9-11, especially the US’s war in Iraq. The album starts out very pessimistic about the state of the world but it ultimately ends on an optimistic note. If you haven’t listened to the entire album from beginning to end, you’re missing out.
(Literally my favorite album if you can’t tell)
My college roommate used Feel Good Inc. as an alarm, so now my brain is trained to become wide awake whenever I hear it!
Using it as an alarm is really wanting to hear the message beep.
Damon is one of my favorite artist. His solo and Blur stuff is also pretty good.
Also that band he formed with Paul Simonon of The Clash.
@@jasonremy1627 the good, the bad & the queen
@@alexsutcliffe8533 that's the one. Thanks! Couldn't remember it.
Damon is the Gorillaz. He brings in other artists if needed. The Gorillaz is a representation of Damon's alternative sides. Noodle being the feminine aspect
