- Officials say four people reported shark bites off South Padre Island, Texas, on the Fourth of July. Three of them were taken to a hospital and the other was treated at the scene. The attacks are now among at least 15 in the waters off U.S. beaches this year.

This would be news if you were in a pool or lake. Sharks live in the oceons, so what is not to be expected?
Because there aren't that many shark attacks each year, are there? And I mean in the whole world.
What kind is it?
The biting kind
Most likely a bull shark.

@@annebreitrick6116 Time to stop protecting Bull White and Tiger sharks. Allow open fishing and drone patrols.
Sharks chase fish into shallow waters to trap their prey, which notoriously swims in giant crowds called “bait balls,” which is when accidental encounters with humans become a bigger risk. They're not hunting humans.
I’ve watched these animals feed. They swim into a school of fish with their mouths open, thrash their head back and forth, somebody swims past and gets tagged. Then it's called an "attack" when it isn't.
It’s not like every time you go into the water, there’s something waiting to take a chunk out of you.
Anyone who has gone into the ocean has swum with sharks. They just may not know it, but they have.
Texas likes everything bigger, even the sharks.
That's just something the egotistical men in texas say.
There's no way that's the same bull shark that bit people in the FL Panhandle couple weeks ago, right?
Yup it is. Same shark. Same social security number and everything.
Gimme a minute going to the beach to ask him. Will update
Maybe...
Imagine being surprised if you stuck you hand in a bee hive and got stung.
That shark is real unAmerican!
What species?
Most likely a bull shark.
@@annebreitrick6116 I figured. Hey... I have a question for you if you know something about sharks or if anyone reading this wants to chime in....
So ironically, a couple weeks ago curiosity got the best of me and I started down a rabbit hole of fatal shark attacks in the U.S.
Why is it that attacks are always back to back? Like once one happens, several more follow. What causes this behavior? For example, the fatal attacks in the U.S. by region always seem to usually be back to back and sometimes just a few short months apart and then an attack won't happen in that place for years. Why is that? What causes this? I just find it odd that lightning strikes in the same place.
Notable examples would be the Jersey attacks that inspired _Jaws_ and then fatal attacks in Hawaii, Florida, and the rare fatal ones in Puerto Rico. PR for example had 2 in the same year and then none for decades.
@@JohnDoe-cd6ro I don't know much about sharks, but your question is interesting. Is it a repeat offender shark? Was there a change in water currents, or a shoal of prey fish in the area or a lack of prey fish?
Many factors to weigh in, it'll be fun to see if someone has a good explanation.
@@annebreitrick6116 You brought up some valid points and some interesting questions. I never thought about that.

Shark was hungry
Stop the beach fishing. It's dangerous to try to draw one kind of fish to your lure and assume you won't draw another. Find a pier! Bigger sharks are smelling the bait. Make it illegal to fish from the beach.
Yea just take even more freedom from people.
Theres just more sharks than any point in recent history. Populations are at a 60 year peak, and there's more people in the water than ever, it's a simple equation with a predictable result.
Negative, beaches are for all peoples.
@@matt9822 Sharks attack people. Period.
We eat hotdogs on the Fourth and they eat people 😂
And that picture of the ocean looked as a sewer greenish color? smh!
Have you ever been to California? The ocean isn’t a clear blue unless you’re on the Atlantic ocean or in the islands.
And yes the Gulf of Mexico is somewhat part of the Atlantic ocean, but it doesn’t have the same hue.
Corpus is pretty much our clearest waters compared to the Galveston Bay Area. Lol
that’s how Galveston be ig LOL
Yeah! A big deterrent, to me. I like my water CLEAR! I I can't see my feet while treading water, I ain't gettin' in!!!
Even the sharks are off the wall! 😂😂
Oh, the drama! The narrator is nearly *breathless* with the description of.....a SHARK at the beach, with people IN PERIL!!!! :)
Yet we keep going back in! 😂😂
Lol humans 😂
Even the sharks are restless
As you were saying, with the Hotter Weather here, people loose their cool easily and most animals are stressed. Very few like hot weather, ask the guys from the Middle East...
More and more shark attacks. I wonder what's going on?
People baiting them close to shore to get video to post for likes. smh It's all the rage right now and food is always a draw.
Too few electric boats ! 😂
There has been an increase in shark fishing from the shore. I bet it’s contributing to the increase in shark activity.
Why are American states allowing the fishing off beaches where people are swimming? It is idiotic and stupid.
🤡
Because in America nobody tells you what to do.

They don’t care it’s just a shark
What kind of shark(s) did the biting? I recall swimming with the blacktips while my dad was fishing in TX. I swam with tiger and bull sharks in FL and was lucky they were in a good enough mood to leave me alone. My girlfriend's friends were on the local news sitting on their surf boards with record numbers of sharks swimming below them around Cocoa and Daytona Beach, caught by the helicopter cameras. They usually don't bite when they can see it's a human.
It’s def time to ban sharks!!!
The sharks only wanted to celebrate and enjoy a human who was well seasoned after having a few burgers. 🍔🍔🦈
Think the sharks have holiday calendars now?
I think that 2nd shark video from above is a Thresher shark. A different shark than what probably attacked the lady.
Shallow water…that’s usually where the swimmers are.
Humans a great snack until you get to the real food.
Am i the only one who love shark attacks?
That is their home. Not ours.
According to people like you, only cities are where people belong.
@@robertbrandywine Sounds good to me. We don't live in the ocean.
I think that was my bad neighbor out there
😂
Bull shark . No doubt .
People are bitten by sharks all the time in the gulf waters of South Padre Island. It's a well kept secret.
Hey news flash - sharks live in the ocean. You humans are in their living room uninvited.
Time to stop protecting Bull White and Tiger sharks. Allow open fishing and drone patrols.
Yeah and humans can swim if they want. I used to swim in the gulf daily for years when I was a kid. Shark attacks aren’t usually that common.
Shark attacks are not that common .... until you get bitten
@@Danny-ju2ip yeah and you’re more likely to be struck by lightning or have a car accident
Damn, it's crazy. In the 33 years I've lived in South Texas I'd never heard anyone getting bit by a shark.
Something fishy going on
0:25 What in Hades is that guy doing to her throat?
I thought he was doing a sternum rub to try and keep her awake bur after watching it a few times I'm not to sure exactly what he was doing
Large Bull shark. Chasing baitfish and likely to bite first and ask questions later. Shallow water is not safe.
Gulf just now heating up☠
Seems to me they were in the sharks house, sound like self defense 🤔🤔
I have a simple solution to this problem. Stop swimming in the ocean. That's what pools and lakes are for.
Well. Keep out of the sharks playground...
queue the looney left saying "get out of their environment" or "this is because we have diminished the fish supply and forced them closer to shore"
O really 🤯
Charles Sharkley got em'
Spi made it to the national news 🎉🎉🎉
Shark fishing????
Don't go into the ocean on your period 😂😂😂😂
Time to stop protecting Bull White and Tiger sharks. Allow open fishing and drone patrols.
Bull shark's aggressive as possible
I have to say it's very disappointing to see how people respond to the most obvious medical emergencies.
Instead of dragging people around, how about applying pressure and stopping the bleeding? Applying a tourniquet with strips of cloth? Geez, this isn't that hard.
And once you've done that, you can't lift a woman to a car or hopefully a way the ambulance to get them to a surgeon? It's really hard to watch the dumb people as they film and do almost nothing or literally nothing.
Hey black folks don't get bitten by sharks WE KNOW BETTER.
Sharks are a big part of the catch this time of year in Texas.
Swim in swimming pools. If you enter the ocean you become part of the food chain, and get what you get.
Arrest the shark 😂
What is pushing these creatures to the shore line? These people are very lucky that they only were tasted by them because if it was a BULL or TIGER Shark. . the news would be horrifying.
Nothing is pushing them.. predators patrol the shoreline looking for bait fish.
I'm sure as soon as Ted Cruz heard about this, he was off to Cancun again.
Ted is the best to ever do it. God bless my beautiful and amazing country 🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲
I'm amazed that people go in the ocean. I go to the beach but I never go deeper than wading near shore. I swim in pools. Sharks homes are in the ocean. Its not that difficult.
What you expect! That's their territory 😂
No, it ain't. We've not had any trouble with sharks in the past. Those mfers are tourists here.
Welp should have watched shark 360

Sharks coming for 4th of July picnic
Oooh hell naaaww❤
Lets jump em
Luckily there wasn't a battery in the water or they'd have been throwing themselves at the shark.
You are swimming in their kitchen... We have been dumping in their kitchen a lot.
Just stay out of ocean ,fish are dying .humans are the food source, for all sharks .
Bull shark probably....sad😢🦈🦈🦈
I mean we are swimming in their domain…maybe that’s the problem.
That a tiger shark?
