    I'm natural 4b and the Revair absolutely fails at getting my roots straight enough for a silk press. I've had it for years and tried all the tips and tricks. I will say if I'm just after a nice blowdried stretch that machine cannot be beat!

    • @SimplyTamika
      @SimplyTamika  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +11

      Yes. Generally more coarse textures will dry at the ends first with the roots not being fully dry. That’s why you see me using the blow dryer to finish drying the roots.

    Her hair is beautiful. My hair breaks like that with weaves too. I wish I would wear them because I like the waking up with your hair done feeling. Most braids don't work either especially the way some pull them so tight.

      Write to the Revair customer service for advice! I did that and now I've got it set perfectly for my hair. I don't even have to go back over the roots with a handheld blowdryer anymore. The roots are dry without the ends being over dry and frizzy, whereas the opposite was happening when I first started using it.

      @@IndigooceanOrgwhat was the advice that they shared with you to combat that?

    • @IndigooceanOrg
      @IndigooceanOrg 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +8

      @@ritababy12 1 - bring down the speed to a level where tangles do not occur (for me that's speed 4, sometimes 5 depending on how good the condition of my hair is at the time).
      2 - larger sections, about 3 inches by 3 inches across. Basically a fairly tight fit for the opening of the device so that there isn't room for hair to thrash about in there.
      3 - Don't "pump" the wand up and down. Hold the wand's mouth to the scalp so that the roots get dry.
      4 - Make sure the hair is fairly wet, very damp but not dripping wet, before it goes into the wand, since the suction pulling at the water is what is straightening the hair.

    Congrats on the product launch! I've never heard of a 6-month weave. I have to look that up. I was always told not to leave any sew-in weave installed for more than 12 weeks. I was going to the salon every 2 weeks back then so 12 weeks didn't seem like a long time with regular care. With my crochet braids, I only keep them in for 6 to 8 weeks. I wash my hair while in braids and add moisturizing products so end up with some build-up after 6 to 8 weeks. I have fine hair and am certain that I'd have a lot of damage after 6 months. I bought the Rev Air a few months ago after seeing your video of the new version working on your daughter's hair. I've used it like 5 times and it's gotten easier and faster, maybe 20 minutes in 9 to 11 sections.

    • @SimplyTamika
      @SimplyTamika  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Awwww. Thank you ☺️ Yes. Leaving protective styles in for too long can most times cause more harm than good but it apparently works for some. Fine hair needs to definitely stay away from long term protective styles.
      I am so glad to that the RevAir is working out for you. It is indeed an amazing tool.

    I’m interested to see the outcome of repeated use of the RevAir on a person’s hair in a couple of years. I’m concerned about the idea of sticking hair into a hole that is hot and keeping there in the hot air, and you can’t see what’s going on with the hair, the oldest part of the hair is getting tugged on first which goes against professional blow drying techniques..🤔 It’s an interesting idea but I definitely think I’ll wait a few more years to see the results of long term use before I buy into it. The hair looked good though.

      @@SimplyTamikado you have any tips so I can come out w/o having stiff results. I did highest heat & tension setting; and only used a little Pantene spray heat protectant (water based).? • @tmcurly
      @tmcurly 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Dyson supersonic will never dry out your hair even high heat.
      I think there are different types of dryers for each hair type. I have dense fine 4c.
      For me it’s infrared or ceramic only.
      GHD ionic even on Medium beats my hair up !

    • @tmcurly
      @tmcurly 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      Ceramic technology - fine strands won’t leave your hair tired 👌🏾
      Ionic technology - smoothing people with coarse strands 👌🏾
      Tourmaline technology
      Infra -red technology - my favourite. Seals in moisture from the inside out 👌🏾..
      Please look these up and choose the right dryer for your hair accordingly.
      Not every type 4 natural hair agrees with 1 dryer.
      Maybe ask Revair which technology is theirs?

    I just received my Rev air and on high heat the wand mouth part is very hot to the skin. I don’t understand how people are doing 90 seconds straight on the scalp because it gets very very hot. Are others experiencing this?

    • @SimplyTamika
      @SimplyTamika  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      The RevAir does have a learning curve. Don’t hold the wand in one place on your scalp the entire time. Move the wand side to side, up and down on your scalp. You may not need the whole 90 seconds either. I have dried sections in as quickly as 15 seconds. Adjust timing according to your hair and its needs. You can always go back and dry the section more if you need to.
