Hi Kee, I've had my RevAir for about a month. I really like it! I had to get used to using it and get my technique down. But it's great. I think it's less damaging to your hair. It doesn't stress the hair. And it doesn't use as much heat as a regular blow dryer. But the hair still gets straight. I like that you can even stretch the hair with cool air if you like. I use mine to stretch my hair for a twist out. My hair is past shoulder length. It elongates my curls. If not, it would look like a shorter natural from the shrinkage. Yes, it is pricey. But it's an investment. I also got a discount before I purchased it.

I love that for you! Yes, all of this! The less damage and less stress part is my favorite part about the dryer! Watch how much longer and healthier you hair gets by eliminating the aggressive action of the traditional blow dryer!

I brought this dryer for my teenage daughter as a Christmas present. She’s into doing and taking care of her hair. This product is a game changer. She has a lot of thick hair and she’s able to dry it in 30 minutes. This is an AMAZING product🤩 especially if you have a lot of hair.

I love what you said about making a client feel safe in your chair. I remember growing up going to salons and feeling like i couldn't speak up or myself to whoever was doing my hair. It took me so long to be able to say what I wanted and stop a stylist when I felt like they were not listening to what I wanted. I'm glad you cared for and respected this young lady enough to not cut more than what she wanted.

Exactly!! It's so important! At the end of the day, it takes a lot for a person to even come to you in the first place especially when their hair is damaged. So you don't want to stress them out. If they aren't ready, they aren't ready. 💜✨️

Combining both this subject and the topic of braids, one of the last times I had my hair braided, my mom and I had made a trip to a different state to a stylist my mom always came back looking amazing after visiting. I spent extra money to get human hair for this trip and we both settled on getting tree braids (I'm sure those are out of style now, I don't know...I stopped keeping up with braid styles, lol).
There were only two stylists there and my mom and I were the next ones up after the initial person there. They started on both of us at the same time. However, my mom failed to warn me that I would actually be participating in the process. Maybe she didn't think things would get as bad as they got. Each woman asked us to hold onto our hair and be the ones to peel off the strands and pass them to them, claiming this would be faster. This hair was very silky and difficult to keep my grip on, making the ends uneven. So many times, the woman my hair would click her teeth, of course speak in the mother-tongue of the country she was from (this has really made me wary of stylists not born and raised in America, if being very honest), then forcefully readjust my hand for how she wanted me to hold it, or she had to make the strands of hair smaller.
I was already nearly in tears for feeling like such a failure. I don't put a lot of stock into my appearance in general, and even as a young adult at the time, it's rare for me to care about wanting to look more than passable. But it used to be something I also lamented about myself. Why wasn't I "like other girls" who liked girly things? Would other young women know how to hold that hair? I had NEVER in all my years had to participate except to move my head depending on the side or angle being worked on, had I just been getting lucky to have not encountered a stylist like this?
I didn't even look at myself in the mirror at the shop once done. We paid and then my mom let out a tirade in the car. She'd held her tongue for my sake to still have my hair done. We stopped somewhere else, a restaurant or gas station or something, and I was then able to look at myself in the bathroom. The hair was supposed to be silky and wavy but because the hair hadn't been pulled off in even strands, it all looked puffy. Money frickin wasted.
That woman had put her so-called "faster method" far and above the comfort of the client. She probably saw it as, "It's her hair, if she doesn't do this right, that's on her", which is such a terrible attitude to ever have as a stylist. Speed be damned, when you see this is something new and your client isn't comfortable with it, it's time to take over. And she's the stylist, she's been trained on handling the hair! It's like going to a restaurant and the chef calls you to the back to have you help make your meal. The hell kind of sense does that make?
I never went back to that shop again and I hope at some point, someone else read them the riot act about their unprofessional and unrealistic expectations of the client. This is also why I love this channel. It's restored my faith that there ARE caring stylists out there, who don't put rushing as more important than their client's comfort. Thank you so much.

I wish I had a stylist like you growing up!! I remember getting my hair at a salon my freshman year and the lady cut my hair above shoulder length from mid-back length. I went to school on my Monday and everyone was asking me what happened to all my hair. I felt like I couldn’t tell her I wasn’t comfortable with her cutting so much off in my first visit with her. She kept saying she needed to cut it even so it’ll grow back fuller and healthier. I never went back after that. 🤦🏽‍♀️ High school is already hard because you’re so worried about superficial things because that’s all that matters to you during that time.

I can remember getting braids with synthetic hair and my scalp being itchy and red right after installing my braids. I also remember my hair feeling "coated" and I didn't think it was necessarily from the dirt or product build-up. From the information you have shared, I believe I may been experiencing an allergic reaction to the hair. It gave our hair shine without using any hair products. We also noticed our hairstyles lasted longer. My mom borrowed it for her thin 4C hair and she loved it cause it didn't cause much hair breakage. I had my hairstylist at the salon try it and everyone there was amazed.

My hair flourished with braids. But go to one person for my braids. She's a natural hair stylist so she takes extra care when braiding including making sure my ends are trimmed and the hair and scalp were well conditioned and treated. I also use a daily braid maintenance spray the kept my hair moisturized. I also didn't keep my braids past 8 weeks. We typically braided every 6 weeks. I was working out daily and sweat in my head so braids were my solution to stay looking cute. 😊

Braids work great for me. I do medium sized braids or twists with hair added or crochet. I soak the synthetic hair in acv and water. On wash day I use diluted shampoo and then my final rinse is diluted acv. I use a mix of George's aloe Vera juice paired with a liquid leave in ( i like Alikay Naturals and Naturelle Grow)on my hair 3-4 times a week and oil at least 1-2 times a week. I use the same leave in mixture when I take down braids and detangle my hair. I don't do back to back braids either. I wait a few weeks or months before another install.

I braid hair and what I try to do for my clients is, wash put a thicker/ heavier leave in conditioner and after I blow dry I add some oil to their ends or grease and that helps to seal the ends. I noticed that this is helping with their ends not being brittle and dry when they take the protective style down.

  • @rampagejenny

Bought this and it does work. It will stretch your hair, but it can never stretch your hair the way a blow dryer and a round brush can do. This is if you have a curl pattern tighter than 4a. So 4b and 4c, just stick with blow dryer and round brush.

My hair was exactly like this when I took it out of Braids. Braids never really helped me to grow out my hair. I had a lot of breakage and bald spots on my edges so I stopped. Now I’m a straight natural and my hair routine helps me a lot to retain length.

I love your videos so much! I am natural, but wanted a change for a bit.The last time I had braids, they were super tight and heavy and I also had two people working on my head. I was scared to say anything to them even though I'm an adult now 😔..I managed to grow my edges and hairline back (It took so much of my hair out). I know what mistakes were made, I probably won't ever get braids again, though. Wish I could sit in your chair one day! I would love to show everyone a hairtype with significant issues that I'm sure alot of people can really relate to. I had dreadlocks, but combed out them a few years back and have an established hair routine, but my edges have always been quite thin. I am so self conscious about it. Recently, I got the courage to get a super short cut and even though my problem areas show even more now I am teaching myself just to be comfortable with what I have. It isn't so bad. I love you all so much, have a great day ❤

I had to learn through trial & error. As a younger woman I had a few awful experiences with stylists and that is the reason why I do not trust stylists now. They do not listen to what you, the client, wants and they do what they want to do! Especially cutting waaaaaaaaaaay too much hair when all you requested was a trim! Hey Ke!! So, I’m a 39 yo woman who’s been getting braids all of my life ever since I was a young girl. Mind you, I did have my natural hair braided and my mom would install braids in my natural hair and my hair never came out or was dry like that. My hair would grow from the braids, and my mom never was a tight braider, especially around the edges of my hair. To this day, I install my own braids since I’m not living at home anymore and my hair doesn’t break off. I make sure that I take care of my braids when I have them in. Carrington’s hair looked absolutely beautiful!!

Hey Sis. I already had thin edges. Braids absolutely grow my hair, but every time I find a Braider, they always disappear, like stop braiding or if they're at a shop after a few visits want to start charging absorbent prices.

My daughter is 9 and protective styling is our go to. She’s a cheerleader and plays softball 🫠🫠
I def believe she’s allergic..her ends stay dry and brittle… next install I will treat the hair first!!! This never clicked to me! I figured bc it wasn’t irritating her scalp like me…that’s it’s good. But her hair wont retain length bc I’m having to constantly trim ends…thanks for helping me connect the dots.

This was sooo helpful! Braids is not a protective style for me. It's not even too tight it's too heavy for my hair. My hair is thin in some areas so the sections don't have as much hair as they should to really anchor the braid...so I switched to crochet and the same thing was happening so I think with that case the synthetic hair is just not a good mix with my hair so the information you are sharing about plastic and chemicals in the synthetic hair is SO helpful! Going to look into getting the hypoallergenic hair and try at least one more time 😊

I've worn braids since December. I keep my hair moisturized with teas, aloe vera juice, oils, and creams. I will take a break in-between. My braider us awesome! They are never tight, my edges are great. I got my hair rebraided a few weeks ago. I was shocked at my length when I took them down to wash. My hair has been flourishing in braids. I'll get my ends clipped when I take these down. I will look for hypoallergenic hair due to the chemicals but the braiding hair doesn't bother me. Thanks for your wisdom!❤

I see what you mean by her hair not being front heavy. My hair grows in that heart shape as well and I’ve had a short bob myself but I’ve also maintained pretty healthy hair. I know as she gets on her road to recovery her hair is going to grow beautifully.

Thanks for this.. your great , you respect the customers. I enjoy looser braids only every 5 - 6 weeks, Then take it down. Larger braids for me personal. Leave braids out for a month, for hair rest. Condition & keep hair clean. Loss heat personally, and heat protection over my hair.

I’m allergic to synthetic braiding hair which is why I never get braids. It was always a terrible experience. I didn’t realize I was allergic until I was older. My parents always thought I was being dramatic as a kid.
