I personally dropped out of community college due to having an instructor who was a terrible teacher that didn't teach me right. Even though I work at a Toyota dealership as a lube technician, it's sometimes not a fun place to be. It's a miserable place due to poor management and crappy service writers. I still want to learn to work on cars to get into automotive racing and not work at a dealership for the rest of my life.
Is the pay worth the amount you'd likely lose? I wouldn't know. Why I think to get into something else but I'm just not sure what I can get into that I won't fail at.
oh and just as I was thinking of going off she mentioned having experience since young age. Something a large majority of mechanics have but someone like me didn't
If I was you I'd go into a trade school. You would be able to get into the trade for about 2 years and see if that is something you want to do. If it is something you would want to do. And you enjoy it. I'd recommend going into a college that has automotive classes and get certified. I specialized in a specific brand of car. But if you want. You could also make your own shop after college as well. It just depends on you
Seriously they want a tire changer intake and they will pay for your training? I ask? Do you send them to school and pay for it? Or just leave the "new mechanics" to be in these elements as you must be somewhat intelligent on electrical engineering to work with most vehicles today. As every gas car has ...electronic steering.. some woth electronic brakes.
Always wear safety glasses when y 0:01 ou know you should! (Does not mean you won't get some in your eye... but better safe and sometimes... shit happens.

I was a mechanic for a year and I bounced. Not worth it unless you are in a fleet getting hourly rate
