    I am only 25 but I’ve really really began to love older vehicles not because they just look cool, but because how they were built. I’ve always been a hippie and never realized it. I love traveling and being creative and buying an older chevy hightop van allowed me to do that. I’d never go back. Yes I love having a sporty car to get around in and get things done quickly but nothing beats those triangle windows open on a nice summer day blaring classic rock goin 65 down the freeway. I can’t explain it. I recently added mirrors, led lights and a star projector to my van. It’s so much more enjoyable in here now.
    Long story short: BUY A VAN!!

    Actually there is currently a van culture. But this time, instead of focusing on street, we build them to travel in and live off grid for extended periods. Prism tape has been replaced by solar panels. Nice van, good vid.

    A great vid, Van culture is still very big, The vans now are stealth campers so its just the van style that changes, still popular here in New Zealand, Thank you.

      Van life (today’s van culture) is a totally different thing to Vannin’.
      Vannin’ is more about customizing the whole rig usually in a hot rod style with 70’s influenced interiors and taking them to meets/shows/cruising etc.
      Van life is more comparable to camping / living in your van and traveling across country in a “stealth van” which allows you to park up on streets without getting noticed. Not the same.👍

    I find it funny when the young'uns don't know about the floor high beam switch or a floor emergency brake

  • @ralphabreu5022

    Zach, 1960 and 1970s cars all had the high beam switch on the floor...

    I have been on a van kick myself, just looking for a pre 76 so i dont have to deal with smog.

    • @BevoHoward
      @BevoHoward 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Up to 1978 the 3/4 ton (G20) Chevys came with no smog anything and burned regular gas. The 1/2 tons were a different story. They required unleaded gas and had a cat converter. I bought a brand new 1978 in 78 and ordered a G20 just for that reason.

      @@BevoHowardIm thinking about a 1979 c10. auto. do you think they are an ok van? good transmissions?

    • @BevoHoward
      @BevoHoward 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@kiwivanman9035 Sure, it's a great van. A couple years ago I bought a 79 short wheel base. It was in nice condition with no rust. It has a 350 engine and a TH350 transmission. Just what I was looking for. It is a G20 but if it had been a G10 I would have bought it anyway. If the one you're looking at is in decent shape, I'd jump on it if the price is right. These vans are not as easy to find as they once were. Good Luck!

    It's a time lapse , every thing about those vans adds up and you are apart of it , this world was exposed starting with those vans , I remember when I was young and there was nothing in the US , vaners was dying and half of my family lost their lives in those Vans from crashing them to starvation , everything about those Vans adds up , from the fuel to the oil to the RPM , to MPH , all is time traveling and alot of stuff today isn't nothing and nearly impossible to have existing with out those Vans ...
    Apartment , business , House's even City and people lives.
    Some people got Vans before they bought Mobil home because they didn't want people staying on they're land and they could see spy's crossing over they're land ....
    HUGE TIME LAPSE ... WOW

    Modern seat belt laws helped kill the custom van because you could no longer ride round in the back on couches it seems now they can only be enjoyed when parked

    It’s a 4 speed transmission? Stock 350 from 1977…. So they put a 20 years newer transmission in the van? Have you driven one with different gearing in the diff and tranny? Your review was bland, somewhat ignorant and incomplete. Just being honest.
