This game is wonderful & it will take lot of time i know but try to complete all quests you find, create potion, go to any random place, discover new monsters.
I know graphics are old but story line is pretty great.
Play this game not complete it but to enjoy it.
I believe you will not be disappointed while playing it.

i don't know if you feel the same, but for me every first act of witcher games is the best one. Somehow it is always the most atmospheric and the music...It's like the world is a mystery yet and there is excitement to explore it. It's like our lives: at first a big mystery, everything seems new and exciting but then it becomes familiar and less...hmm mysterious in a way
I find that is true for a lot of games. Especially immersive sims (like the Deus Ex series).

@snugdarkly to me, all of them are best in their own times, the first 2 games probably didn’t age well but TW3 will still be great visually and gameplay wise years later. This trilogy is the best fantasy rpg to me

It's been a long time since I've played the original Witcher. It's amazing how far these games have come. To think, we all thought this looked AMAZING at the time. I'm very impressed you did the battle without the reticule. I remember this experience very differently. It was a hell of a game though!

at first I thought what a mess, who would pay $2 to play this game in 2022, rage quits it regretting my $2 I paid to purchase it.
Now I have 35+ hrs of playtime and I am only on chapter 2 and am enjoying this game a lot 🔥🔥🔥. Now I feel bad for those who quit it just like me early, without even exploring it.

the first witcher game I played is the 3rd one ... and it feels so weird that everyone I knew from the game sounds so different before.

One of the greatest and most emotional opening scenes ever. Becomes even more effective when you realise the truth about what really happened after the massacre of Rivia.
Around the 17:00:00 mark ( 1-2 mins before) is the zeugl fight in the sewers under Vizima that Geralt talks about all the time in witcher 3 :p

I thought he was always talking about the fight he had with a zeugl when he stayed in Vengerberg with Yen in the books. I think it was in Sword of Destiny.
I’ve no idea how this walkthrough is so short compared to the 30-50 hour walkthroughs I’ve seen here on TH-cam, but looks like I’m gonna watch this one. Those other ones would be a slog to get through, even though this one doesn’t have commentary hopefully I won’t get bored.
Well I watched it all wow. Great play through straight to the point. The others were probably so long cuz they didn’t know what they were doing. There is some stuff missed here but I’m glad I got the gist of the story and game here. Excited for the Remake now that I know the story and characters provided here. I read the books prior so watching this and hearing/seeing the references was nice. Shame Geralt doesn’t remember friends and events but that’ll be a treat when I play Witcher 3. Going into The Witcher 2 will be a lot more fun knowing these things.

I think this one needs a remake. I hate how it was supposed to be on ps3 and xbox 360 as well with better combat but the console versions never happened.

@@mertkansatlms9148 i did not, i just had no clue how to fight at first then i walked around, looted everything and barely knew what to do at first. for someone that grew up with more advanced games than this, this was very different so it was more difficult for me.

@@kayjay. Well it's like all the old RPGs games. Despite there's the the visual mode where the camera is behind Geralt, it still feels me like I'm playing a Dragon Age game.
Are you using any mod or similar?. I remember the overhead view instead of the OTS camera, but i dont see any arrow to select or attack.
I loved the soundtrack in Witcher 1.

Yes, you can sell the books to some merchants. They give you about half of the buying price, if I recall correctly.

I still remember when i had a potato PC, and struggled to run this game, i though graphics were amazing. After watching the witcher 3 you may say they arent, but still, they are very nice for its time.
10:16:15, this moment. in 2015 I stopped playing the game because the was a game-breaking bug that prevented this cutscene from happening, and the ladder from being there. I would have had to go back few chapters before to prevent this from happening, I was so mad I uninstalled the game and never played it again, 7 years ago. Such a shame, this game was amazing
I played this trilogy in July 2019 and man... I wish i can lose my memory of this game to experience it again

Wanted to play this for the story and the lore, but just can't get past the combat system. Guess I'll watch this one and hopefully the second one has an improved combat system so it's actually playable for me and then I'm gunna replay 3 but this time with modded graphics and gameplay since I'm on PC this time, with the dlc's too. I really wanna soak in the lore of all three of the games in chronological order. Also fall asleep listening to the books on audible every night. The Witcher universe is a really deep and fascinating one, I love it.
All my quests are stuck in Chapter I. I can't do anything :'(. I keep going to Haren and Odo but they don't speak to me. I've also only played the dice game with the dwarf in the inn and can't find anyone else to play with. Do I have to start the whole chapter again?

I really need them to remake this... seriously. They could remake this and be working on a fourth game while folks replay this. The graphics are AWFUL but they would at least be bearable if the dialogue was so stilted.
I actually hope they don't make a part 4. It will probably be a brown mess of politically correct "diversification". If CDPR don't go back to developing independently, it's pretty much guaranteed. Warner Bros was toxic for Cyberpunk 2077.

Geralt already seems to know a decent amount of people that we get to see for the first time in this first Witcher game walkthrough, unless I'm missing something. It feels like the first Witcher game is a follow up to another game. Is this one of those situations where you have had to have ready the novels. Is everything that happens until the start of the first game even covered in one of those novels? I get that the Witcher 2 and the Witcher 3 games are full of references to things that have happened in the first game but not that the first Witcher game would leave the fans in the dark like this about even that happened before the first game took place. Since any Witcher game usually has Geralt deal with problems that are taking place at that specific moment in the Witcher world, I wonder how those blank periods in Geralt's mind will get filled with the memories he has apparently lost and if we get to see them and not only hear about them from hear-say.
