If i remember correctly, in Story 2 a Grain of truth. Only in the netflix version, Nivelline was a Bandit, in the book he was a normal soldier when commited his crime. And Verenna stayed alive because Nivelline begged Geralt for her live. And she Feeded on Nivelline, but because she love him, she made sure he always had time to recover from her. It was more of a story that showed Geralts path and motivation. And in Story 6 It was not so misterious what Geralt wished for. In the Netflix showe they made a big point out of it, and remember Yennefers reaction when she hears about it. In the books, she instead heard his wish the moment he made it, and that did make her fall for him, well and of course the bond of the wish too. For the first Story of Sword of Destiny... The grenn dragon did not give Borch her Baby, the green dragon was the mate of him, and was already at a save place when the figth between Borch and the mechenaries broke out. Well i dont want to critic everything, so i only say, at the end of Lady of the Lake, Ciri not putting Geralt and Yennefer on a boat that comes out of nowhere. The boat was on a small lake in the City of Rivia. For the rest, thanks for the effort of making the video, even with the little failures i found, i really enjoyed watching it.

Hi, I'm about to start reading the witcher books soon. So, according to this chronology, 'season of storms' supposed to come 2nd right? Or does it not matter? Thanks.
I love such long videos about fantasy books, especially those of The Witcher! I would gladly listen to a much more detailed version of this video, even if it would be 7 hours long xD
@@storieswithcookie some Witcher-lore Videos like your Gaunter O'dim video would be great too for some 'shorter' videos that don't require THAT much time to make.
Read all except the season of storms (since I may read it in the future, I skipped that part to prevent spoilers) and I can say it's a nice sum. Thanks for the effort 👌💯

This might be just me but... I'm not saying the books are bad, it's just that people hold them above the games so much that I thought it's actually better. To be honest, I still prefer the games (because they're more visual) and the writing of the books and the games seems equal to me. Some people might find the books more engaging and that's fine by me, I'd say I'm the odd man out actually. But one reason why it might also be less appealing to me is that, the books are about the story of the Witcher universe rather than just Geralt. The games have created a deeper connection for me towards Geralt and I'd say that's probably why I find them more exciting, I get to spend my time with Geralt rather than with Ciri or Yen or etc. But I still wanted to have a better understanding of these stories while walking around and looting people's houses.
The books are alright but there are so many side stories are things that come seemingless out of the blue like the realm of the elves in the last book which makes it too convoluted and the ending a bit anti climatic. These many story arches with the battle between nilfgaard and the kingdoms and so on was at times really long.
I will say that’s the biggest weakness of the books. Sapkowski isn’t the best at writing stories as novels, the short stories are much better. Still, the Witcher isn’t awful. I would put it in my top ten fantasy series of all time I think.
I just read all the Witcher books except Season of Stroms, but I don't understand what happened to Geralt and Yennefer at the end. Did they die or where did that boat take them?
I didn't get few things. Correct me.. there are 2 Nilfgardian emhyrs 1 who wanted to marry her but he introduces fake ciri ,, and other who turns to be her real father ? However her mother run away with a hedgehog?
There is only 1 - they are the same! He definitely changes drastically from when he is a hedgehog who marries Ciri’s mother to when he is the emperor and wants to marry a fake version of his daughter 😅
Amazing video, helped me a lot to remember things from previous books (I'm reading book 7 atm). But why are you using pictures of the characters from the terrible and inaccurate Netflix show? Most of them are nothing like the books.
I just wanted to know 2 points First what exactly happened at the battle of sodden like with whom were they fighting with and did yennefer and triss - fourteenth of the hill died there or not? Secondly at the last event in the lady of the lake to where did the unicorn take yen and geralt ? Like when they were put on the boat what exactly happened after they disappeared?
All good questions! I believe the battle of sodden was between the North and Nilfgaard. And no only 13 bodies were recovered. People thought Triss died but she didn’t. ***SPOILER WARNING*** As for the lady of the lake of the lady, makes the most sense to me is this: After the boat ride, Yennefer and Geralt awoke on the island. This concludes the books. Some time later, the Wild Hunt invaded the island and abducted Yennefer. In response, Geralt returned to the living world and pursued the Wild Hunt. During his journey, he rescued Letho of Gulet along with two other Witchers from the School of the Viper. The pursuit led them far south, where they fought with the Wild Hunt. To try to save Yennefer, Geralt offered his life in exchange for hers. The Wild Hunt agreed, taking Geralt and leaving Yennefer in the care of Letho and the other Witchers. This sets the stage for the first game, where Geralt either escapes or is released by the Wild Hunt near Kaer Morhen with his memory gone.

In Blood of Elves it's the Empire of Nilfgaard that invades Cintra, not Novigrad, which is more like a city state than an empire.
Novigrad Is just a port-city. The bigest northern one. And oldest human one if i recall correctly. Wasnt there the first landing? Or was it on Yaruga?
@@drake3116i could be wrong but i think first landing was in the pontar valley, not the yaruga
