This is one of the most helpful videos on memoirs that I have listened to. So much good information. I’ve revisited this recording quite a few times and will continue revisiting it until I complete my memoir.
My God, I been working on my senior forever, about receiving a head injury in kidergartden, which in a round about way need up in The State Hospital, held on an illegal court order, drugged in solitary confinement for 3yrs. got out on a writ of habit corpes, which turned into a media event, news at 6 & 10, then the aftermath of the last 45yrs. living with the stigma, "Normal People Worry Me"
Around 8:45, she is so right... I'm trying to remember the times I was a kid. But it's hard because I can't remember much I remember the events, but I can't bring in the details of them. I didn't realize how difficult it is to write my memoir. I have all the right construction and built up, I know what each chapter is gonna be about. But I can not remember a breif moment that impacted the way I am now.
My memoir topic covers my school days to the present, but there are three distinct plot threads or goals. How can I structure this besides strict chronological order by alternating?
Thank you for sharing. Q: Will slowing down increase my word count? (=11:57); I mean in this draft I’m trying to drop my word count to 120,000. (And) your clarification of arc is great. Oh, Happy Birthday Brooke:)
