    Actually India was rich before the Mughal Empire as well, the period of the Guptas Empire was literally called as the Golden Age, they contributed around 32 to 35 percent of total world GDP

      @@mohammeduzair7796 Just think before you comment something stupid, you read the above comment and just couldn't handle the truth, just stupid. Now for your question, Guptas, Marathas, Cholas and many more were the emperors who were the natives of the land, they either got the empire from their ancestors generation after generation and also by conquering the other kingdoms. However, this was very different from how the mughals or the british took the empires, they used dirty tricks and betrayal of allies. Like how britishers came to India as traders but eventually took us as their colony, same way mughals were defeated by Indian kings many times but they bribed the military leaders in the army of the kings which caused the mughals to take over India

      @@mohammeduzair7796Adding to that, When mughals came into power they destroyed the Hindu culture and religion to show their god as supreme and to convert all the people to muslim. But I just wanted to clarify that it wan NOT the mughal empire when india was called the golden bird. When Bharat was under mughal rule (before btitish) its gdp had already declined to the worst and also there was so much social discrimination going on against the hindus. They already drained and looted our wealth and so much of our temples were destroyed and nalanda library (that contained books with precious knowledge) was burnt down.
      Mughals were just invaders. Who themself contributed to the downfall of both- economy and social knowledge.
      There is a reason why India has been the most invaded country since past.

    • @Mr.MiscellaneousYouTuber
      @Mr.MiscellaneousYouTuber 17 วันที่ผ่านมา +2

      Omar you forgot to mention that those mughals destroyed many temples which were very sacred to Hindus. You are just trying to cover up mughals as righteous rulers. FYI the Indian civilization was far more ancient than Egyptian civilisation, not to forget the fact that it's a shame to Egyptians who were not able to protect their religion or civilization from Islamic invasion, but India never lost their religion to mughals or British like native Australians, newzealander, Americans or Canadians. They survived the change and resisted invasion against religion. This alone can prove the efficiency of Indians.

    • @TheSharatmaja
      @TheSharatmaja 18 วันที่ผ่านมา

      The British gradually took control of India through a combination of military conquest and strategic alliances, ultimately displacing both the Mughal and Maratha powers.
      By the early 18th century, the Mughal Empire, was weakening due to internal conflicts, succession struggles, and invasions. While the Mughal emperor remained a nominal figurehead, the empire's control was fragmenting, creating power vacuums.
      During the Mughal decline, several regional powers, most notably the Marathas, rose to prominence. The Maratha Empire expanded rapidly across large parts of India, challenging Mughal remnants and other powers. At the same time, European colonial powers, including the British, the French, and the Dutch, were vying for control of trade and territories along the coast. The British East India Company began to expand its influence, initially in alliance with local rulers but later through direct military confrontation. The Anglo-Maratha Wars (1775-1818) were a crucial part of this. After defeating the Marathas in a series of wars, the British effectively dismantled the Maratha Empire by 1818, which had been one of the most powerful regional players in India. The British, after weakening the Mughals and defeating the Marathas, gained control over vast regions of India. While the Mughal emperor technically remained in Delhi until 1857, the British East India Company exercised real power. Following the Indian Rebellion of 1857, the British government took over direct control, marking the start of the British Raj.

    Number system that we use today have its origins in india.
    Negative number and decimal number also have it's origin in india.
    Word decimal comes from sanskrit word dasmalava.

    Hey Omar, I like the video but there is actually a lot more stuff that I believe should have been added as Battle of Plassey and Battle of Buxar only ensured control over northern and north eastern parts of India (though they were the richest ones). Events like the Anglo Maratha wars (another betrayal story) should be mentioned as the Maratha Empire controlled the majority of India in the 18th century. Anglo Mysore war gave South India to the British. Anglo Sikh wars gave north western parts to the British. And last but not the least, debt ridden Indian kings losing territories to the British. Well anyways keep up the good work!

    It is proven that during the Mughal rule, our GDP decreased ALOT. It was due to many reasons, the one i can remember is that the emperors gifted the revenue collected in India to muslim countries in the middle east. Not only that they TORTURED Hindus. Destroying our temples and looting them, they killed many people too. They applied a tax named "Jaziya", which was basically a tax payed by Non-Muslims for pilgrimage.

    The British conquest of india is one reason why india wanted to be a united country of different states. It also is why india until 1991 was very isolationist and it remains a reason why India chooses neutrality over allies when it comes to geopolitics to the dismay of America and its allies.
