Trevor suggests that colonization is the process of making others become like you? So the British belief in honest judges that cannot be bribed and who support the rule of law for all and the presumption of innocence are somehow bad things? After all, I have heard some immigrants to Toronto suggesting they actually PREFER dealing with white authorities since the authorities back home would treat you either well or badly based on which TRIBE you belonged to rather than considering the logic or justice! Colonialism of any sort is not pretty, but the British version did more to bring civil rights to the public than any other system! As example - we can consider The Sudan where slavery was a national institution that was ended by the British! And of course once Sudan got its independence, SLAVERY RESUMED THERE! Even worse, slavery in Sudan now includes the FORCED harvesting of organs for transplant with the organs sold to wealthy citizens in third world countries! Such wonderful progress!

@MsMissy ah yes good things, which totally undo the other horrendous actions. News flash - they don’t. And the railroads, trains, and tea industries weren’t developed FOR the Indians, but rather for the British. Let’s not even begin with the economic ramifications of British colonization. India’s local industries shrunk, its people went into deep poverty, and suffered from many famines. Around 45 trillion went out from India, and onto the hands of the British as the people starved. The notion that Britain somehow improved India for the Indians and not for their own selfish reasons is quite absurd.
Such wonderful progress!

good point, im British and we (most of us) love it when other nationalities have a laugh at our expence, humour is healthy and it does so by importing a simple morality to the masses.

I am an indian and he literally nailed both the countries🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 but the part when he said , which god tell me the name of your god really hilarious 🤣🤣🤣😂😂😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣
This is not hilarious Mr deepanshu, it is I fact that he didn't understand the concept of God in India at all, he shd not have commented like that
@@padmajavorrey1405 yes I am thinking that too, initially I found it funny but then I realised he made fun of our gods
On the contrary, Trevor was making a statement on the contrast between the supremely self centered world view of the British vs the more personal relationship Indians have with their gods. This theme permeates this whole topic. Imagine the supreme hubris of the British invader marching into a land as ancient and firmly established as India. The Sciences, the Arts, all many thousands of years more developed than the civilization of a mediocre sized blob of peat off the coast of Europe.
@@padmajavorrey1405 what is the concept of God in India?
@@musicislife6250 The concept of 'God' as described in Christianity doesn't exist in Sanatan Dharm ( you all call it Hinduism). Infact there is a concept Of One True Reality of Supreme power which manifest itself in many forms Like Shiva, Vishnu and other. In short in hinduism people can chose many paths (which suits them) and reach to the ultimate reality. This is the best answer I can give you.
This has some funny and meaty intelligence behind it. Nice one, Noah.

As an Asian, I am never offend when English speakers mock my accent. Because I know it's basically the same as making fun of accents like Australian English or British English. However, I won't tolerate foreigners making fun of my language whatsoever. I think we should learn the difference and have a little bit thicker skin when it comes to jokes. Because without jokes, the world will be boring.
