As a lifelong Mets fan and someone who was there on that magical evening in 2015 WS, I can never forget the thrills Harvey provided to the Mets fans, the city of NY and the baseball world. For those few years, Matt Harvey was the best pitcher in baseball. His starts became must-watch events, Happy Harvey Days. He was not just a pitcher, he was a phenomenon. Sadly, the injuries robbed him of a brilliant carrier. But, no matter what happens, Harvey will always have a special place in my heart and the hearts of all Mets fans. Love you Matt & we are rooting for your resurgence.
Was so cool seeing the fans at Citi welcome Harvey back the way they did. Glad the Mets won of course, but it was great to see Harvey back on that mound again. Definitely hoping he continues to pitch well for the O's this year and hopefully get back to his old form.
One of my favorites and still regularly wear a Mets t-shirt with his name on the back. Will never forget how electric some of those nights with him on the mound were. Harvey's Better
It was so good to see him on the mound again. We fans have wonderful memories of the best of the Dark Knight. So happy our loyal fans showed him we appreciated his time with the team, especially 2015. LGM.
Matt, I was rooting for you from when I first heard about you as an up-and-coming prospect with so much potential. I'm glad to see you getting it back together, and wish you all the best. Keep that positive attitude--Go get 'em.
You put it all on the line for the Mets, and paid a big price. We owed you respect, gratitude, and even empathy. Im so happy the fans gave you that respect and gratitude today. It's also nice to hear about the good feelings you have about playing here. And that you don't regret the decision to pitch despite the risk that season going into the playoffs.. Happy to see you back in business and doing well. Wishing you the best.
this man had an incredible 3 year stretch with the NYM and without his arm we wouldn't have made it to the WS in 2015. i wish the best for Matt and i hope he stays healthy. also, he had the best nickname for a NYM since the Doctor.
I Was There 4 years ago at his last game with us it obviously wasn't good but I've always stuck by him especially when I met him in 15...im glad he' has newfound success with Balitimore..Your Still The Dark Knight In My Eyes...Thank You Very Much For That 2015 Run!
I really hope he gets a chance to play for the Mets again. Either as a back end of the rotation pitcher or as a reliever, if he accepts and adapts to that role.
The game that can humble a person really quickly, if you told me that the Dark knight would be pitching for Baltimore against the Mets in 2021 and give up 7 runs I would have told you you were crazy. Great job by the fans at the game today for applauding this man. Class act by them all.
@@Lebronisthegoat3 but he did give up 7, Wearing orange and black instead of blue and orange, Harvey (3-3) gave up a season-high seven runs and eight hits in 4 1/3 innings with one walk and four strikeouts.
I have always liked him as a ballplayer, struggling in New York towards the tail end of his tenure was unfortunate and a lot of it could be attributed to self-infliction. The fact that he recognizes and can have a conversation about it and apologize to the fans, makes him even more of a class act. I wish we had more guys with his attitude. I'll always have a soft spot for the guy, he left his heart on the mound in that World Series Game 5.
New York fans and the city gets a bad rap but the fans showed the true class of new York and the most knowledgeable fans in all of sports. Are you listening Francisco ?
It was real Matt you were one of ours. If only we pulled you out of that game and the manager had a pair to do so we probably win the 2015 series. Wish you well stay out of the bars take care of your health best of luck peace out
I want to see a Harvey DeGrom match up, past back to back pitchers in the Mets rotation now facing off, also old Mets ace facing off against the ace Jacob DeGrom
Had all the tools to become a Hall of Famer, unfortunately injuries robbed Matt Harvey of that distinction . He will retire as a good MLB pitcher that overcame a lot and won the hearts of the New York Mets baseball fans.
What a great role model! I mean his father who was or still is coaching at Robert E. Fitch Senior High School must be proud for the example he's setting. Is this why we didn't make the baseball team? Had to hide the students drug habits somehow right.

He did it to himself, he asked to leave.
@@abstractlifestylellc yes he did but he wasnt in a good place at that time.

He has been humbled and I am glad to see him to be back pitching again

I'll always be rooting for Matt Harvey! with or without the mets thank you for giving your all !
Matt Harvey created so much excitement to the Mets. He might have sacrificed his arm coming back in 2015.
I hope he has an AL Leiter kind of career. Best of Luck Matt!!!
Off topic but better be watching for jack leiter this mlb draft

I was thinking the exact same thing...I'd like to see him retire as a Met when that day comes.
Wow . Happy for him that hes doing good . Hope has has a great year and gets a good contract
