Surprised you didn't mention Funtime Foxy, Scott naming 2 similar characters the exact same name and the fanbase unanimously agreed that was stupid and refused to call the FNaF 2 one that. Originally called Toy Foxy or New Foxy in the FNaF 2 game files, the name for Mangle before being Mangle was usually assumed to be Toy Foxy, some people would also just call them Pre-Mangle or Fixed Mangle, then FNaF World came out and officially named them Funtime Foxy right before SL called another character by that name. Officially some merch still calls them Funtime Foxy iirc.
I thought they were the same character and Scott just had Funtime Foxy in FNAF World as a "teaser" of a new character in Sister Location. Especially because that game also references Baby directly in the Clock ending
@@kotori6938 You can tell FNaF World's is FNaF 2 and not SL because of a few design traits. 1) SL Funtime Foxy is entirely white and pink with yellow eyes. FNaF 2 also adds red to the colour palette with the lipstick, bow tie, and cheeks. FNaF World matches the latter. Also noteworthy that SL Funtime Foxy has a speaker instead of a bowtie and FNaF World has the bow tie. 2) SL Funtime Foxy has a speaker and the typical Funtime plates as notably design traits which World Funtime Foxy lacks. 3) The real giveaway. In the FNaF 2 teasers it's shown Mangle before being Mangled had a hook hand. SL Funtime Foxy doesn't have a hook hand. FNaF World's does. So yeah FNaF World is definitely Mangle Pre-Mangled and not SL's Funtime Foxy. ALTHOUGH it kinda is still a SL teaser as FNaF 2's game files actually does call Mangle Toy Foxy (as well as New Foxy depending on where in the files). So although it is Pre-Mangle, I'd still say the name being the same as Funtime Foxy (SL) is intentional and probably has a lore reason.

What's funny is that to this day, the crying child still doesn't have an official canon name, while foxybro was later confirmed to be Micheal Afton.
Yellow Bear is honestly my preferred name for GF. Golden Freddy just sounds like a rare version of Freddy from an RPG, Yellow Bear sounds mysterious, ominous, like he's not even supposed to be there.
There's also Purple Man, which was THE top name circa FNAF-2 and was still pretty popular in the 3 Era. Not sure why it fell off. Matpat switched in his 3 video.
Great video! I remember a good deal of people flipflopping between calling FFPS Afton either Scraptrap or Springscrap, but seeing how one could mistake the latter as spelling out something else, you might be able to see why the former was the one that stuck. The RUIN DLC also has the M.X.E.S. entity, referred to as DLC Rabbit and Blackrabbit in the game files, which has been referred as everything from Pegtrap, to Chadtrap, to the Genie, to if memory serves me right, even ARabbit for a very short while as a callback to VRabbit.
One of the fan-made names I remember for Springtrap back before FNAF 3 even came out was 'Salvage the Springtrap', that fan-name was from non-other 8-Bit Gaming themself during the FNAF 3 teaser speculation days.
"Shadow Bonnie" was also a fan name given to a FNaF 1 Hoax of an edited frame of Bonnie from the office hallucinations. When RWQFSFASXC was introduced in FNaF 2, people believed that they were the Toy version of this hoax, calling him "Shadow Toy Bonnie " This eventually evolved into just "Shadow Bonnie" once the original hoax was lost to time, unlike Sparky.
I do wonder why Purple Man ultimately lost out to Purple Guy. During the FNAF 2 era it was the most popular name(Matpat's FNAF 2 theory calls him Purple Man), and as you showed at 6:19 'man' was in the games code. This is especially since the second most popular name for him during the FNAF 2 era was "The Golden Freddy Killer", with the MCI often being called "The Golden Freddy Murders", both Matpat and Grumpybear did this. This was because people had made the incorrect assumption that that was the suit used, when it was Springbonnie. (This debate got pretty nasty in the FNAF 3 era despite all the evidence pointing to Springbonnie at that point). And due in part to internia and the Purple Man and Purple Guy options nobody ever felt like going with "The Springbonnie Killer" and "The Springbonnie Murders", by the time the GF crowd gave up it was way too late to change the name again. So I get that. I also know that the color coded options were popular because of Pink Guy theory being a big deal in the 2 and 3 era. So specifying you meant Purple Guy/Purple Man was helpful in case the other guy believed in Pink Man / Pink Guy theory. That's also probably why simply calling him "The Killer" or "The Murderer" like was done in the FNAF 1 era died out. A lot of those people were the ones using the Golden Freddy based names and those died out due to being wrong and them fighting it too long to pivot to "The Springbonnie Killer" or something. And if people were two killer believers just saying "The Killer" was useless. So I can explain every other alternative dying out. But I have zero clue why Purple Guy overtook Purple Man around the time of FNAF 3. Zero clue. EDIT: I checked a couple of Google Trends and TH-cam Trends sources. Purple Man showed up on Day 1 when the demo came out, Purple Guy was first used on the 15th of November. Purple Man was solidly and fully ahead until the last week of December, around 19-23 depending on the source, when Purple Guy overtook it daily for the first time. After this both would stay relatively neck and neck, Purple Man sometimes ahead, Purple Guy sometimes ahead, but within range of eachother. When FNAF 3 came out both names got a big spike, but Purple Guy took the lead immediately, albeit Purple Man took it back once or twice in March and April tied to uploads by creators using Purple Man(8-Bit specifically). Matpat's FNAF 3 theory using Purple Guy was seemingly the nail in the coffin as after that Purple Guy surged ahead and Purple Man rapidly declined into near non-existence by the time 4 came out.

Baby's name was revealed at the end of the FNAF World halloween update of all places before we even knew what she looked like, which is why she had no fan nicknames before SL came out
something that i didn't see brought up is that prior to fnaf 2's release, people were calling the toy animatronics the 2.0s (freddy 2.0, bonnie 2.0, etc); i vividly recall seeing this kinda thing in for example youtube titles speculating on the game trailer and whatnot lol
Wanr to point out that there are two other nicknames for the puppet, one being called the baby which I'm pretty sure only Markiplier called them that (however it was referenced later on in nightmareons teaser image name) and I remember a few people used to call it the Puppet Master so yeah
I know this one is unique compared to the rest you mentioned, but Mangle being originally "Toy Foxy" was another non-confirmed name the fans created when talking about this game. Then Scott went with "funtime foxy" in fnaf world, then called a completely seperate character "funtime foxy" as well just to confuse us all.
i seem to remember the toy animatronics being referred to as "new ___" before the game came out and their real names were revealed in the custom night screen
Some also believed that the half face teaser for springtrap when mirrored and duplicated was fredbear so even some terrible fangames popped up with that face over a freddy body colored yellow.
I remember when FNAF 4 was coming out and we just had the one image of Nightmare Freddy to go off of. without any hints to the setting of the game, people were calling him Nightmare.

I remember when people used to call The Puppet, "Puppet Master"
Audibly said "God I remember" when you mentioned Springtrap's fan names
The Week Before confirmed that Mr.Cupcake was the cupcake’s real name BUT the staff come up with all kinds of nicknames for him.
My favourite name for Shadow Bonnie is “XQC”. Just a fun reference and it’s easier to remember
You honestly have the best png tuber like oc i have seen in a minute. A lot of png tubers oc's piss me off solely because their its like super dramatically expressive for no reason idk its probably just me but its incredibley refreshing.
wow this is the earliest i've ever been to any video..
Springtraps Salvage nickname takes me back, i remember that being the most popular back in the day
Wanr to point out that there are two other nicknames for the puppet, one being called the baby which I'm pretty sure only Markiplier called them that (however it was referenced later on in nightmareons teaser image name) and I remember a few people used to call it the Puppet Master so yeah
Frank the Hotdog is one of my favorite FNAF characters.
Gerrrr how dare you leave out Pickles the Parrot
Anyway this was really cool lmao love me some good ol nostalgia
I’m the werid guy who calls Classic Golden Freddy, Yellow Bear. And Withered Golden Freddy, just Golden Freddy.
I know this one is unique compared to the rest you mentioned, but Mangle being originally "Toy Foxy" was another non-confirmed name the fans created when talking about this game. Then Scott went with "funtime foxy" in fnaf world, then called a completely seperate character "funtime foxy" as well just to confuse us all.
after seeing the new scott interview i cant believe after all this time scott is actually taking the time to name characters BEFORE the games come out
"Malhare" is actually such a cool and clever name for glitchtrap through
11:40 my guess on why it's just a nickname is because glitchtrap is likely mimic, more specifically the mimic1 program.
Great video, just wanted to add Phone Dude in there cuz i miss him
I'm surprised you didn't mention the "Eclipse" as for the glitched arcade version of Sun and Moon! 😄
10:07 because of lore, because William escaped the suit so now it is just William afton wearing a springbonnie constume
honestly i really like the mysterious serial killer only being referred to as 'man'
I remember calling Moon “Moondrop” before the game came out.
I love your bunny/ or rabbit avatar so much dude
i seem to remember the toy animatronics being referred to as "new ___" before the game came out and their real names were revealed in the custom night screen
(picture of the pink guy sprite standing on a shore facing the ocean)
"Man"
Some also believed that the half face teaser for springtrap when mirrored and duplicated was fredbear so even some terrible fangames popped up with that face over a freddy body colored yellow.
I remember when FNAF 4 was coming out and we just had the one image of Nightmare Freddy to go off of. without any hints to the setting of the game, people were calling him Nightmare.
Moon was also called "Moonman" once by Dawko in his reaction vid for the first SB trailer.
"Puppet Master" was also a pretty popular name for the Puppet back in the day. Some people also called them "Jack" (as in Jack in the box), although it was a minority.
We need Frank the hot dog to make a comeback in a future fnaf game!
