    Crank bolts 50nm Spider Lockring 50nm Motor mounts 18nm Motor cover 1nm. I would use thread lock on the last two.

    If you have a newer levo there are some differences in the disassembly - they are fairly obvious apart from a hidden bolt which requires the horizontal part of the rear triangle to be removed and pushed out of the way, the hidden bolt is on the drive side near the foam insert

    Steve
    A couple of things. What about torque settings? And when the motor goes in, loosely put in all the motor bolts in first before you tighten up the bolts.
    Keep up the good work.

    What a statement. “ The motor will out live you” If only you knew then what you know now. We’re guinea pigs for this infant industry, I hope our hard earned cash helps them finally get it right. Superb channel by the way.

      Well I've done 2000 miles already on my Turbo Levo in 4 months and I'm not even a good rider. I really doubt the motor is going to out live me.

    I agree with the other comments about the use of a torque wrench. It is a very important tool to use when working on a cycles, ebike or not. Nice video!

    I didn't get as far as you Steve, I snapped the self extracter bolt with a sickening crrack. I was looking to replace the chain guide nut -plate which could not take the amount of Southdowns mud I was processing. Keep up the Great work!

      Did you ever get to replace the chain guide nut plate, mines broken as well and having to do all this nonsense just to get at it, is very frustrating. Just wondering if there is a less OTT that doesn't require taking everything apart to get to it.

    Re: levo gen 2 disassembly, in addition to the 4 "visible" bolts on the side of the frame, you need to remove the 6mm hex bolt the attaches the lower rear triangle to the frame, move the triangle aside, to access the two remaining "hidden" bolts that attach the back of the motor to the frame.

    Good video, but I will point out that you should never use a torque wrench as a normal ratchet, and definitely not to loosen loosen a fastener, like at 5:36. It is detrimental to the accuracy of the torque wrench

  • @Bangandthedirtisgone
    @Bangandthedirtisgone 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    What happens if you find corrosion on the contacts of the battery lead?
    Will contact cleaner ‘fix’ it? Do I spray both the terminals on the lead AND those in the motor where it locates?
    Bike’s been cutting out and dying recently and this may be the cause.

      Belt drives - Upside: Quieter, Smoother driving force. Downside: Wear out much quicker than gears! And not cheap to get replaced.. Unless under warranty of course, But still a pain to go through.

    Sealed for life..how about the levo bearing failures..sprag clutch.. belts snapping and chocolate gears

  • @kaikopke5829
    @kaikopke5829 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    There are a couple of "enemies" for this Brose motor:
    1. Broken belts are happening quiet unexpected, but is not a real big deal if you are getting a spare part (gasket and belt).
    2. Broken sprag bearings is a BIG problem and this will happen after a certain time, when the plastic cage breaks OR could even happen when you are hitting hard a stone with your pedale, hell of a job and quiet expensive.
    3. Water is always a problem, even if you are not using a power washer. The water will get into the needle bearing and the corrosion will just then damage all other bearings, sprag bearings and also the crank shaft.
    I don´t believe that Specialized have fixed all these problems on the new 2022 motors but if anybody here can comment that I would be glad to hear that?
