I loved this video. I'm 61, born in '61, but this video made me feel like I'm 14 again! WWII aircraft are my thing and I really want to start going through those classic WWII aeroplanes again with my grandchildren before my eyesight finally packs in! Thank you for posting this. P.S. I wonder if I'm the only one who still thinks of EVERY plastic model kit as an "Airfix" model, even if it was actually manufactured by Revell or some other company!😃
I have a couple of comments, yes they should be commended for the classics but where are the old hovercraft (either the SRN4 or the SRN1) the gyrodyne , the Wallis autogyro and the trains that people want back? looks like the only 2 1/24 kits are the old harrier and a new spitfire , are airfix helping the scalpers in removing the typhoon the hellcat and the classic hurricane! plus are they trying to make every mark of spitfire in 1/48? while not reintroducing kits people want like the sea vixen and the walrus?
I have asked them personnal about the hovercrafts.. i was told watch this space lol.. I think airfix have a set budget for the range and things do drip thru..
Nice catalog, really good to hear the Beagle Basset is making a return, I have an old boxing of the kit and the decals are in rough shape so it would be nice to get some fresh ones! I'll be trying to snag a Chipmunk and a Bird Dog as well. I say, carry on, Airfix!!

40th anniversary of the Falklands War; wish they could have re-released the dogfight doubles with the Sea Harrier and Skyhawk (though I prefer the ESCI/Italerei Sea Harrier); the 1/76 Land Rovers and L118 105mm gun; backdated Sea Kings.... something more than the HMS Fearless and FRS 1. Vintage classic Beaver and Beagle Bassett definitely on my list. Once again, see the Humbrol Colour Chart - with actual paint chips. Tried getting one before here in the US, it wasn't available. What's the deal with this? I have one that's probably from the mid 90s, need an updated one with new colors.
I do love Airfix as a brand, nostalgia is a wonderful thing. I'm very nearly sixty four and have happy memories of going to the local newsagent in the early seventies. They had a small rack of kits, the ones in a plastic bag with a card stapled to it. I still can't get my head around why the figures, of say the RAF personnel are at 1/76, and the blummin' Spit etc is 1/72. Don't make sense!
I think it’s weird that Airfix are showing the re realise of the 2012 P51 mustang with the original box art but the new decal scheme on the side. I liked the box art they showed off with the new decals
Imagine the size of the box if they did do a V Force giftset. Must be a contentor for one of the biggest for 1/72... think the closest to that from Airfix is the D-Day 60th anniversary kit

You look at it and think "wow, that 1/48 Avro Anson looks good, I will have to pre-order that". But then you read the small print and realize that the thing will not be released till late 2022. It may even slip into 2023. For this reason, I will not be pre-ordering any of their new kits.
The pressures over the last few years did stop a lot of models getting to market on time.. I Hope this will be better year for airfix with time scales.
@@MOS6510Models Well, in my mind, if Airfix predict that the Anson will likely not be ready till late 2022, possibly early 2023. Then they should not have announced that kit, and it should not be in the catalogue.
I actually decided to try an airfix model kit for the first time ever and after waiting five months past the intial release date I cancelled my order and never looked back at them again.

such a shame they have stopped making the old Napoleonic and ACW and Roman/Britons figures, they where a staple of wargamers all over the world. Now you cannot get them for love nor money. In 1995 my aging father at the request of my mother sold his ACW wargaming figure, over 5000 inf 3000cav, 2000 arty and 30+ wagons etc , all airfix all painted for a measly £120, i saw a listing on ebay for a third of that amount which sold for £1600 its no wonder tabletop wargaing has crapped out, its just too expensive.
