The book that changed my life was The Book Thief by Markus Zusak. I read it in 8th grade after stealing it off of my sisters bookshelf because the title alone had me intrigued. I had no idea what I was getting myself into but the story was just so powerful and emotional. This book made me love reading and now every year I reread it to feel that same love and passion again. I would definitely jump into a fire for this book! 😭❤️

One of my favorites
One book (or series, rather) that shaped me is definitely the Percy Jackson series, it sparked my love for mythology, which then ignited my love for history, which I'm now studying and loving it 😊

It’s so awesome to see The Hot Zone get some love!!!! Richard Preston is one of my favorite nonfiction authors. The Demon in the Freezer, Crisis in the Red Zone, and The Hot Zone are in my top 5 favorite nonfiction books of all time.
I sooooo get the Twilight obsession! I was never a Twilight girlie when the series came out and I had almost no knowledge of what it was about, all I knew was that it was some cheesy romance. UNTILL THE PANDEMIC, when I binge watched all the movies with my best friend and I got completely soaked in. Something in my brain just clicked. Now I reread the series every autumn. I’m aware of how bad the acting is and how badly-written the books are but that’s what makes it even more special to me. It’s just a world you can be completely safe and distant from the real world and its worries. It will always have a special place in my heart because it reminds me of a very specific time of my life when these franchise was my only brigde to the people I care about the most and now one of my life goals is visiting Forks❤️
Finding Me by actress Viola Davis!!! Please read it! The Audio is best because she narrates it and it just gives it so much more meaning!! This book will always be one of my favorite books!

Lawd you put The Bluest Eye on here, imma give it another try. I started the audiobook on it and I just couldn’t stick with it. The pace of how the narrator would enunciate the lines drove me crazy.

I think for me it will be 2 series. The first got me through a terrible illness & the 2nd through divorce. First is Jean Auel's Earth's Children series (though not so much the last book). It hit all my buttons with history, love & adventure. I just love these books. And second is Kim Harrison's Hollows series. The main character touches me so deeply. Though in the most literal sense, I would risk my life for this 100+ yrs old poetry book that a man gave to his lover. He painted the pages & it is so gorgeous. I would risk my life for it any day.
Hot zone is soo good!! A few others in a similar vein are “the perfect predator” or “lab girl”! You should talk more about your science journey!!!

The books I would save for sure would be the Cainsville Series by Kelley Armstrong. There are five books in the series. I met her last year and she signed each book for me. It would be them and my cat.
