- The first pre-release for Halo 3: Combat Evolved is FINALLY available! This version is close to final and is intended for people to give me feedback and report issues before I do a full release.
The download link will be available on my discord server in the "announcements" and "downloads" channel: / discord
If you encounter any issues or have any feedback, posting them in my discord in the "issues-feedback" forum is the fastest way for me to track and act on bug reports and feedback. :)
These issues are already known:
Jackals have invalid shader on their wrist
Shield flashes don't work currently
Some shield sounds do not function correctly
Spawn rates for Major ranks are lower than intended
Sniper Rifle ammo can be replenished back to 60
Grunts exit their shade turrets for no reason sometimes
Marines will fire at the Engineers
"Extra" equipment intended for 2+ player co-op spawns regardless of player count
Overshield doesn't work currently
Activating active camo on certain controller layouts is bound to the jump button
Co-Op teleports need adjusting
Some ODSTs do not take any damage
Floors in the Truth & Reconciliation are cleaner than intended
Co-Op player markers don't appear unless you open the map and exit out
... and more which I can't think of at the top of my head

@@mannersmatter_ There is someone porting Halo 2 to Halo 3, its not a full remake, but the effort required to do that is insane and what he has made could serve as the base for a Halo 2 remake in Halo 3

The amount of artistic talent you have to both enhance the original yet maintain the artstyles integrity is honestly impressive. This is a genuinely better product than Halo CEA (Although not yet finished.)
Next mission you should do is Pillar of Autumn. The interiors in the actual remaster always left a lot to be desired.

The Elite architecture along with the forerunner architecture have never been the same after the company change. Glad to see some fans of the franchise manage to revive a bit of that classic Bungie style. I love the more suddle horror vibe the coventant ship interior gives off in this mod. As it should.

The project is wonderful but I wonder one thing: Why did you decide to do it in Halo 3's (and later ODST) version of the BLAM engine? It has the Assault Rifle (almost) classic pistol model but wouldn't it have been much easier to do it in Halo 2's engine instead? I would imagine it's much closer in terms of code to the Halo: CE engine. It's visually and thematically closer too. It already has Elites with fully functioning enemy AI too. It has the 4 Frag and 4 Plasma Grenade limit like Combat Evolved.
I've heard that the Halo 2 engine is a nightmare to work with. Is the Halo 3 / ODST just that easier to work with, even if we disregard conveniences like Forge and Theater?

It’s clearly just Halo Combat Evolved; which they already remastered so. This is nothing. At all. It’s digital camera work.
How is this "nothing"? It's my remake of CE using ODSTs engine. Anniversary was just a remaster of the Campaign while this project is a full remake of the Campaign and Multiplayer with cut content reintroduced, extra gamemodes like Firefight and more.
