Following a head damaging cycle crash over nine years ago I have barely been out on the bike, road or mountain, in all that time. I used to do that route from Edale via Jaggers and Hagg Farm. Your video has re-inspired me to get some bike legs working. Starting on the bottom rung again, I've just done three miles off road, my hip flexors ache and my arse is on fire. Six miles in the coming week. then build in some hills. I want to do that route in spring 2021. Thanks for the video.
Nice one Ron. Pleased to hear your back out on the bike. You will be glad you got back into it when a little bike fitness comes back. Just small steps to start so it doesn’t put you off. Keep me informed on how your getting on
Just come back from doing it today, I would definitely recommend doing this if you fancy a challenge. I did it on my E bike crafty rr and I just managed to get back to the van with 1% battery life. I think the hardest part about it is that long gravel track on the way back when you’re absolutely knackered 😂 it went on forever. I didn’t realise how big these reservoirs are ffs and how many.
We did this as part of The Kinder Loop a few years back (maybe one for a future video?) We did it in the Howden to Langsett direction. The descent into Langsett is amazing, just goes on forever. I wouldn't fancy it in the other direction though, that climb out of Howden is brutally steep and technical. I don't have the cahoonas for that one! Great vid.
Now then Dave. In the description on all my rides there is a link to my Strava page. Just click the link to see this ride. And feel free to follow me on there. If you do this one enjoy. It’s great fun 😁
Uploaded this route to my gps and completed it in September and loved it thanks for the find. Stair drop at the end was a little scary 😅 bailed a couple of times on it but I got down it in one piece 😂 Keep up the good work 👌
Try starting at Langsett Barn car park instead! For me/my associates, you started in the middle 😉 langsett barn means the long descent is the end of the ride on a high 👍 Crackind vids btw, best most realistic footage Ive seen to date, and good editing too.
@@TrailFinder Does away with miles of fireroad, theres a bit of plain trail from carpark but you soon get onto the moor. We turn round where the fireroad to ladybower starts.
@@martinpratley4632 apparently S36 9FD but Im not sure how correct this is. Its on the A616 pretty close to the a616/a628 roundabout onto woodhead pass, I'd say its about half a mile to a mile south of the roundabout. Google Langsett Barn Carpark itll come up.
Did the dark peaks cut gate special yesterday and it beat the crap out of me. Ended up pushing/shouldering a lot of the climbs. I have no idea how you manage that speed and rollover on that run.
Usable distinction it’s brutal isn’t it 😅. But good on you mate for doing it. It’s a very hard ride. Well done. What here the conditions like at the top? It’s usually a bog.
@@TrailFinder The whole trail was pretty dry but boggy in some spots, rode a bit and shouldered over some. Struggled to keep any flow though and had an OTB in a stupid spot so impressed with your run.
taius20 yeah it’s a good section is that. Only graft was at the very top on that bog section. But all in all I only had to get off the bike and push for about 20 mitres. Love the tech on cut gate
1975supermike if you clink on the Strava link in the description you will see the map of where it is. It’s more of an out and back rather than a loop. Easy to find and navigate though

I love this route. Just bought a new bike after 7 years off a mtb - this is one of the first things I’m going o go back and ride.
Hope you enjoy it 😁

Thanks Ian. I’d love to get back to cut gate and do it differently to the route I did in this video. Think I missed out on some good sections.
I do love Trail Finders Vids. Honest clear and a true Yorkshireman. Keep them coming and I shall keep watching and 1 day hope to start riding them :)
Tony Booth what a great message tony thanks. But get riding them as soon as possible. What you waiting for? 😁
One of my faves cutgate, that climb is a killer ! Awesome vid 🤘👊
Ian Roberts it’s a classic ride. I love the tech. But yeah. Omg that climb
WOW 😮 absolutely brutal conditions for a tech one. Good lad!
Cheers Luke. Been a while since I did this. Could do with going back
@@TrailFinder Be good to see you hitting that step descent on the Ripmo to compare bikes & rubber.
Now then. Nice footage. Don't suppose you have the route map for this ride avalible please? Cheers.

I realize I'm quite randomly asking but does anyone know of a good website to watch new series online?
@Troy Dwayne i would suggest Flixzone. Just google for it :)

Hi Andy. I love this ride. So if I can make it better by parking somewhere else I’m up for that. Thanks for the tip.

Do you have a postcode for that car park as I'm going there soon

Like our lass said.. “I could ride that all day”
Is it easy to find and follow in a loop ?
