great riding way faster than anything i could do! I am off to Whinlatter in a couple of weeks as staying in Braithwaite but wonder how the trails are at this time of year? thanks
Great vid! I'm lucky to live under 30 mins away from here so try and get up most Saturday afternoons once it's a bit quieter. Lost count of how many laps I've done and it never gets boring! I've been to a lot of trail centres and haven't yet found one I prefer overall to this, if you're into the descents here and are ever in Mid-Wales I'd recommend the Climach-X trail near Machynlleth, the final Descent there is another level up again imo.
A P its an amazing place to ride. And one of my favourites. It’s got it all. Great climbs. Great descents. And amazing views. Thanks for the tip in mid wales. I will look into that
@@TrailFinder Thanks . Loving the videos just watching my way through your previous videos. Keeping me going through these Scottish winter months when all the trails are a mud fest cheers.
ashley scarth I’ll do that mate. I’m going up to Scotland in August for a week. Mainly to do the tweed valley. But will take a good look at these you have suggested. I’m always up for tips on some good riding 🤙
Before I went a couple of years ago I'd read/heard some rather negative opinions on Whinlatter. Well they didn't know what they were on about. The views are stunning and the trail is well maintained, varied and natural feeling. The descents are really flowing and great fun. Great video. I'd recommend riding down Walna Scar Road off the Old Man at Coniston when you're up that way again. 👍
jnadin39 I couldn’t agree more. And The north loop descent is one of my all time favs. Such good fun. I’ve done walna scar last year and loved it. returning soon to film it when I do a loop of coniston water that I have planned.
Trail at 7:15 is quite similar to the Lower Cliff descent at Cannock Chase, although the view at CC isn't quite as dramatic! I'm usually too focused on not crashing to admire the view anyway!
@@TrailFinder Makes me wonder if it was the same guys who built it. If/when you ride Cannock I would check if that section is closed beforehand, as there always seems to be some work going on at CC. Never seen that particular section cordoned off yet though.
Stewart Summerside I love it. Especially the views. And that north descent 👌 if you go to any of my videos that are natural rides. There is a link in the description to my Strava page
Whinlatter has great descents, but the climb up is a love hate thing, you climb a bit only to lose it by descending down a short trail, I'll stick to the fire road up next time. Have you seen this, unbelievably fast, clears that double on your video at 8:42. th-cam.com/video/F94mFEHgYYM/w-d-xo.html
Cracking video mate
I’ve only ever been to Whinlatter to watch rallying. Now on my list thanks to you 🫡
This is my local centre, I too live 20-30 mins away, it can get pretty manic in summer with tourists, but its great all the same
what a ride! I was crapping myself at the speed you're doing this at :D
Off there on Thursday.......... can't wait! Cheers!! great vid.
Stunning Mate. This is now on my list of places I need to visit.
Its a great place. its all about those 2 descents. And the views are not bad either 👍

All weather
Nice riding Andy. Going fast down those descents. Picked a cracking day for it. Never heard Skiddaw pronounced like that before though 😀
just watched a youtube video on skiddaw to hear how its pronounced 😂😂. feel bit silly now as I've never heard it been said before.
@@TrailFinder easily done. I am sure Keswick locals say it differently to how I would say it

White Rose Adventures it’s been a while since you been on it mate
@@TrailFinder Still taking it easy and resting also its in bits lol Im doing a refit of my gears for a 1-10 system but waiting on some parts :)
I was there last month, was a lot wetter than that though! North loop decent is the best decent I have ever done!
Joe Ross it’s not nice riding at whinlatter in the wet. Very slippy on the slate. I agree. North loop descent is a belter
@@TrailFinder yeah it wasn't the nicest of riding in the wet. Had the drop.the pressures a bit. Would love to revisit in the dry.
Was up there exactly a year ago today ..great place great edit good decision
knott 4me yes I was very pleased with the decision to travel down from glentress. Couldn’t have wished for better conditions

Wow awesome stuff really enjoyed it
It’s a fun place to ride with beautiful scenery. You may enjoy my grizedale pike video if you enjoy the area
Ok will do ...cheers
hi mate, dont suppose you did the black run there on the vid, going there tommorrow so i was just wondering 🙌
Did all the official stuff in this video. 😁
@@TrailFinder cheers mate 👊
Not been to Whinlatter yet, but it's on the cards in the next couple of months. Looks great!
adammoonface hope you have a great time when you visit 😁
@@TrailFinder got some healing to do first, after a big crash at Stainburn yesterday 🤕
@@adammoonface My last crash at stainburn resulted in 4 months off work. so I feel your pain. stainburn is a beast 😂

Richard Turton I’ve yet to ride Cannock. But I know exactly which part you mean. As I saw a video of Cannock the other day

Great video I love whinlatter but don't get over to ride it much what's your strava page ?

I was here on the same day! Saw you on Strava.
Rorieram that’s 2 of us that chose a perfect day to visit whinlatter 👊. Hope you had as much fun as me mate
Im heading up there in June. :)
Is it possible to come down a lot slower for an old git like me ?🤔
How longs it take to get round roughly ? Planning on making a trip here next week but i mangled my wheel tother day and may have to rent a bike :/
Hi Paul. it took me 1H 29Mins to do 1 lap of it. its a small trail centre at only 9.5 miles.
Absolutely MINT!!
thanks Gavin
