    • @drunkbunny94
      @drunkbunny94 7 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      +Angery Its not all about the speed. Personally its about the feed back that you get, i garuantee that I can type at about the same speed on every keyboard that has the same layout because that is what im used to, but if its linear its harder to feel when it activates, same with some rubber domes. Also i notice some fatigue when i use my keyboard at work that I have not encountered at home. Granted at home in not typing numbers and emails for hours at a time.

    • @95thRiflesOCI
      @95thRiflesOCI 7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      You don't really need a mechanical keyboard to have the same performance. I use Logitech Silence professional lineup of wireless keyboards and they offer the same or even better gaming performance and daily tasks. Only thing is the larger foot print. Same goes with their MX revolution / performance mices vs something like their g700.

  • @StarWarsJay

    I know this sounds really shallow, but I actually bought this keyboard based on its looks and how it would visually compliment my set up. It’s functionality is a bonus. It really is a beautiful piece of kit.

    Just got this keyboard today. Didn't even know all the options and typing on it is fantastic. As for the dial in Premiere, it's hella better than zooming and moving the mouse to get to that EXACT moment in the video you want to make a cut or insert text, so it's a total win for me just for that alone. And it's precise.

  • @mingyech
    @mingyech 7 ปีที่แล้ว +83

    I wish the dial have used windows wheels API instead of Logitech's own software. And at this price I'd get a machenical keyboard and a surface dial.

    • @kornkernel2232
      @kornkernel2232 7 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Yeah, Logitech should just use the built-in Windows Dial API which makes Logitech job easier and have more apps compatible with it, actually any app that will use Windows Dial API. There is really no need to have proprietary solution on Windows anyways, on Macs yeah since there seems to be no built-in feature on macOS for dial-type peripherals.
      Also even better to have fingerprint scanner too for Windows Hello authentication. There is so much space they can add stuff without making it ugly.
      Like you've said, I rather get a mechanical and Surface Dial instead of this. I like the look of this keyboard, but the price with its limited proprietary functionality is a bummer. It doesn't even come with detachable palmers.

    • @PtrkHrnk
      @PtrkHrnk 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I would suggest to let Logitech know it was stupid idea... like spam them every day for the next week or something...

    • @estidi
      @estidi 7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I think they have to include that anyway for Windows version that doesn't have the dial API (8.1 and below). But still, they should make use of native dial API whenever available. Hope they include it in later firmware updates, it would make it much more worthwhile.

    I feel like at $200 you should get so much more from this keyboard. The way it looks now, it seems like it shouldnt go passed $100. Maybe if tbey add more functions (possibly an extra dial or other dedicated media controls), improved battery, adjustable inclination, and a more premium build, only after things like that ill consider it to be justified at $200

    It's cool for web browsing and volume control... but those Office "productivity" shortcuts are really just gimmicks.
    Also, everyone flipping out over the price: it's wireless, it's beautiful, it has many features. Yes it's suspiciously Apple-like but many people like me would pay the premium simply for the color matching with an MX mouse, and the minimalism it adds to a desktop.

      they made a keyboard with a scroll wheel on the left side of the keyboard, it was so awesome, such fast and accurate scrolling, I still miss that keyboard (Logitech Internet Navigator keyboard), way better then the stupid crappy infinite scroll on their mouses, I hate that, especially when it switches by middle click making it unusable then

    Preordered it about a week ago.
    The dial seems like a pretty cool little gizmo, sure. I'll probably end up using it quite a lot.
    But the main reason I bought this keyboard is because it just looks amazing.
    I'm a sucker for great industrial design, and no other company designs peripherals quite as well as Logitech.
    All those "gaming" keyboards usually look like something from a prepubescent kid's wet fantasy (complete with multicolored RGB backlighting)
    This thing, on the other hand, is simple, minimalistic, but at the same time packed with features.
    Also, it'll look amazing next to my new 34" HP Envy curved All-in-One.
    Can't wait till October!

    This keyboard looks great. I personally hate the big mechanical keyboards everyone has to use these days. It's a little too pricey for me though, it would be nice if they could have the same thing only without the dial if that would make it cheaper.

      You don't need to have a big keyboard to have a mechanical keyboard. These do not go hand-in-hand. If you were to say that "gaming" keyboards are big, than yes - I would agree that they are in fact generally larger but this is only due to their added features(Volume/Macro keys for example which take up more real estate) My G413, and Vara keyboards both have a an identical footprint as a standard membrane keyboard.

      I just meant the big, loud keys that sound (and feel) like they were made in 1980 to me. I just prefer the feel of a thin keyboard, like this one or even the Apple's keyboards. I've been using a big and clunky rgb Razer keyboard lately and I just can't get used to it, so I'm in the market for something more like this.. but this is just too expensive for what you get.

      There are lots of cheap 20-30 logitech and other brand keyboards at local electronic stores that have shallow Chiclets keys similar to a laptop/mac keyboard which correct me if i'm wrong - is what you seem to be aiming for. Even dell has shallow keyboards.

      My feedback in my review was that while only the upper part is metal, the plastic is premium plastic. It at least feels good. And my jumps on the keyboard did not do any damage to it. (yes, I actually was standing on the keyboard) It does lightly bend in middle though. The battery life is certainly not premium though!

    "I cant scientiffically test the speed" Yes you can. Run a 1 minute clock and type a text on both keyboards. There are websites for this. Doesn´t really show the actuation speed but the real life example is much more valuable for the customer. Also i wonder if one could code the dial to just work on any slider you hover the mouse over that would be good. Great video. :D

    For 200 dollars this is retarded it is a 30 dollar keyboard with a dial that should be seperate if you think about it. Most creators are already accustomed to the hardware and dont have the time or just don't want to change their keyboard cause the paid a lot of money for it. What I think Logitech should have done is take the knob like they have in the z333 and put the features that they have in the dial on the keyboard in there priced at around 50 dollars because there is nothing really like this on the market. This would give people the flexibility they would want and make it a great product. Sorry for the rant but I had to say this. 😰

    3:18 Two "alt" buttons really confusing, have to agree there.
    The Win key called "start"? Why not logo? Licensing issues?
    4:39 they could encode there 8 profiles as binary toggles (010, 101 etc)
    6:40 They also could easily add multitap and longtap there. Also the trigger duration of the taps.
    IMO - not worth it for that price.

    Hey, are you sure the proximity sensor is really in top right corner? While doing my own review, i actually found out, that it's most probably located in lower edge, so it's not IR sensor, but more likely some kind of inductive or capacitive proximity sensor. You can try to move your hand vertically down to the keyboard, it won't detect you. If you are sure, that the senzor is that little dot, I should rewrite that part of review, but i think it's only LED.
